Prohibition Era/Noir Style Mafia RP Character Sheets

This role play will be set during the Prohibition era of American history and the city the role play will start out in is Chicago. If the role play gets very active perhaps we can branch out to more cities.

Before you create a character you need to know the ground rules.
1.) All Characters must be PM'ed to Darth Ghranna AND Anaithnid Miuil for approval before they are posted in the character sheet thread. You WILL NOT post your character into this thread until it has been approved or it will simply be deleted.
2.) Follow Gaia TOS.
3.) This RP is set during the Prohibition which means your characters will only have weapons and other items available to them that were available to people of that time.
4.) no god modding
5.) no killing of a persons character without the creators permission and notifying a moderator first.
6.) Each person may only have up to four characters at any one time.
7.) This is a role play set from 1920 -1933 which means while there were female mafia members they were usually very low ranking and far from the norm.
8.) Only 'pure bloods' were real mafia members since most likely it was the only way you could be trusted. Anyone who was mixed blood may be in crime but they would not make it above the rank of a soldier or enforcer.
9.) If you wish to role play a historical figure of the time PM me for permission, I do not want five people trying to be Capone, Dillanger, Elliot Ness, etc.
10.) your characters image need to be in each one of your posts.
11.) moderators word is law
12.) rules can be added or augmented at any time

Historical Figures Acceptable To Use In This Role Play!

If you do not feel like being original or perhaps you just have a love for a particular character from this time period you may use them. However they will be given out at a first come first serve basis and I have a passion for this time period and will expect you to role play the character as the historical records say they are rather than as Hollywood portrays them. I am willing to fudge the histories a little but I would appreciate no drastic changes, bending date a bit and where they were is acceptable. If you have an questions PM me or Darth Ghranna, which should not be a problem as you must PM us your character sheets and why you think you could role play the character anyway.

Also only the claimed character list is complete. I did not have time to list all the different people that could be included. I just put down a few for examples of what was available. So, if you have a historical character in mind but you do not see them on the list PM us and we can discuss it!

Name: Shayla Fagan

Quick Bit Of History: She was born in America but her ma, da and older siblings were not. She is the youngest child her father and brothers all worked in the train yards of New York and moonlighted as bare fisted boxers. She was taught to read and write by her ma at home before she went to public school, she did well academically but there was never any hope of doing anything aside from being a house wife coming from a poor family. She had hoped she could be an artist and always had a passion for drawing and carving. At her father's insistence she and all her siblings learned to play the violin and Irish tin whistle 'to keep the old ways alive' he had said. Recently her brothers Conner and Egan were killed in gang violence and she wanted to find those responsible as well as find a way to make money to help her family. She started stealing and discovered she was very good at it. Now she takes contracts to steal valuable or damning items for clients. Using her contacts to find those responsible for the death of her brothers. She had tried not to get blood on her hands but she had to kill in the past, and she is scared because each time it gets easier and easier. She had worried that she may not be able to kill the ones who took her brothers now she knows she will be able to and may even find joy in it.
Role: master thief kills only when necessary
Nationality: Irish
I'm packing: A stiletto up her sleeve and for combat like many others she prefers her 'Chicago typewriter.' She wears a bracelet her father gave her she took the time to hollow it out and using a small spring and a length of piano wire she created a garrote which she uses by pulling on a small shamrock charm on the bracelet.
Personality: Intelligent, artistic, she used to be easy to laugh now she rarely smiles. She knows what she is doing is wrong but if it helps her family to survive in this 'promised land' she considers it well worth it.
Extra info: She speaks Gaelic and Italian and a pinch of German and French but she doesn't let anyone know she prefers people to think she can only speak English and Gaelic. Some people also think she is mad because she is always singing to herself. Shayla makes her honest money by working as a seamstress out of her little hole in the wall apartment.

Name: Johnathan Hartman
Age: 27
Quick bit of History: John Hartman was born to Marice and Henry, who raised him in New York. Henry was a patrol cop who tried to raise his son the best he could and was proud to see his son graduate from the same academy as him. Being with the force he was a shining example of fine police work. He mainly dealt with petty theft and the occasional assault. The Chief had something else in mind though: homicide. John was one of the youngest officers every to be placed in the department and his father couldn't be prouder. He got his first big break with the Mendelini case. Three bodies and a lot of casings, a lot of blood too. Vincenzo Mendelini was going to get off with absolutely no backlash, if John hadn't gotten him to trip over his words and mix up his alibi. Catching a ride home with Rupert Jordan, a friend and fellow detective, a few days later is what would start Johns vendetta against crime. Nico Mendelini was Vincenzo's older brother, and didn't "appreciate" John locking him up for life. Bullets ran all through the car, but it jumped the curb and crashed into the building pulling John out of the line of fire. Rupert wasn't so lucky. John took his friends death to heart and promised his wife Kitty that not only would he take Nico down, but all others like him. For his safety, his superiors thought it best to transfer him to Chicago until things cooled off.
Role: Police homicide investigator.
Nationality: American.
I'm packing: 1911 Colt .45 semi automatic pistol in an under arm holster inside suit jacket. Depending if he's dispatched to make an arrest, he might have a Thompson M1A1, or a Winchester pump action shotgun.
Personality: John was a pretty light-hearted guy until the death of his partner. He's more serious now, often making his words carry more weight in situations but he still smiles and tells the occasional joke. The death of his friend is never too far from his mind which often leaves him working late nights out of the now even stronger sense of duty that he has. He's also clever and tries to use his wits to tie his suspect in so many knots that even they can't keep track of all their lies.
Extra info: John loves baseball and played it a lot in school, he's also the starting hitter on the police team. He also has a mean right hook.

Name: Richard O'Sullivan
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Appearance: Tall (about 5'11") and very well built from his time in the Marine Corps and from his time in the Trenches.
Quick bit of history: Richard O'Sullivan was born the second son to an Irish family. His mother stayed at home, while his father, and older brother worked for the railway system. Richard was supposed to follow in his family’s footsteps but when Richard turned 18 there was a call for men as the Great War was raging in Europe and everyone knew it was only a matter of time before the United States would be drawn in.
Richard joined the United States Marines, wanting to join the service with the best and longest history. Once in the Marines Richard flourished. He picked up the hand to hand combat easily from his time in Chicago growing up and he discovered that he was a crack shot.
In 1917 Richard departed for France with the American Expeditionary Brigade. Richard was assigned to the 5th Marine Regiment, and served at both the battles of Chateau Terie and Belleau Woods.
When Richard returned a year later and was discharged at the rank of Sergeant and with several medals. However none of these did anything when he went to get his job back at the rail yard. Richard became slightly depressed and began to drink heavily, despite the prohibition settling in. He wrestled with the memories of what he’d done, making him a prime target for the mob.

Role: Unemployed veteran at the moment
Nationality: Run of the mill American, but his Parents are both Irish from the old country.
Weapons: he still has his brass knuckled trench knife from the war. He is proficient in the Thompson Sub-Machine Gun, the Trench gun (shot gun) and the 1903 Bolt action Springfield Rifle.
Personality: He is very bummed out since returning from the war. He has no prospects. He also suffers from what would be called PTSD today. He moves around frequently and is often found in a bar.
Extra info: He is an expert in hand to hand combat from his days in the Trenches. He is also an expert shot (because of USMC Rifle training) and is totally numbed out to the idea of killing. He also knows a pinch of Gaelic, and a bit of German and French from his time over seas.

Quick bit of history: His parents came here for a better life and his dad managed to get him into school. When WWI came around he decided too do his duty. When he came back he opened his club. He lives in a room above his club. He is a big name in the Irish mafia, and his club is a real Chicago hot spot.
Role: Owner of a speak easy club called The Harlequin

Personality: avaricious, business minded, calculating, and he only gives people one chance if they fail, he is not the forgiving type.
Extra info: (secrets, tendencies, etc.) Never gambles, but his vice is pride and he smokes like a chimney and rinks like a fish.

Personality: Has great business smarts, just hasn't had the chance to show it. He doesn't ask questions, he just gets the job done. If he does ask a question, however, there is a good reason for it.

Bio: Alessandro started his life of crime in his early teenage years. Joining a small gang with some friends during school. He would offer protection to the Jewish kids who were getting picked on for 25 cents a week. A good amount of money for a kid his age. As he got older he left the small gang after meeting a couple of made guys at a bar. They saw he was eager for work and started sending him on little errands to collect money from various places of work that were under their protection. If these guys didn't pay up he would beat them and take everything they had instead of there normal pay. Just a lesson they had to learn, and if they didn't pay up the next time they would lose everything. Now in his early twenties, Alessandro is close to being made and being taken care of and he wanted to show them he could get things done on a business level too.

Quick bit of history: Roxy Hart moved to Chicago and met her husband Amos, got married, then got in an affair because her life wasn’t going right. She came to Chicago as an aspiring singer but all she goes was dead-end jobs and a marriage. Roxy killed her lover when they got into an argument and Amos so the guy when he got home. Roxy blamed it on a burglar which Amos believed. A long story short Roxy got off of the crime, left Amos, and became a famous singer. She can attribute her fame to the murder case which helped her stardom.
Role: Singer, Dancer, Actress. Works in a nightclub as performer as well as staged performances in Chicago in the theatre as one of the headlining artists.
Nationality: Half Irish and British.
weapons: None.
Personality: Needs attention, craves to be a star, is a dancer, a singer, an actress, and needs to always be in the limelight. Sometimes needy yet bubbly, fun, flirtatious.
Extra info: No one knows she's actually guilty of murder, everyone thinks she got framed.

Name: Reinhard Eichmann

Appearance: Tall, (6'1") well built, always has been considered attractive by the ladies.
Quick bit of history: Reinhard Eichmann was born in Munich Germany in 1888. He was a smart young man, raised in a good home. Reinhard joined the Kaiser's army in 1907 as a young Lieutenant. He served with distinction in the Great War rising to the rank of Oberstleutnat (Lt.COL) by the end of the war. His rapid rate of promotion was due, in part to the great amount of casualties sustained during the First World War, as well as his bravery, which won him the Iron Cross.
As the war ended Reinhard realized what was going to happen to the German military and so he made plans to escape Germany at his earliest opportunity. When the armistice was signed at 11am, Nov 11th, 1918, Reinhard Eichmann was already on a ship heading for the United States. He traveled to Chicago and was quickly recruited by the German Mob to be an enforcer. He excelled at the job. Reinhard was an expert killer, and completely desensitized to violence from 4 brutal years in the trenches. This won him notoriety among the mob and it wasn't but six short months and Eichmann was made a Mob Lieutenant. From there he began slowly putting the pieces in place for his eventual take over.
It took another eight months but Eichmann was finally named the active boss of the German mob in Chicago.
Role: Head of the German Mob
Nationality: 100% German
weapons: While his is proficient in many weapons, his true favorite is a trench-gun.
Personality: Quick to anger. Drink's frequently, and is a master of manipulation.
Extra info: He immigrated here just after the first World War, but he still has ties back to the Father land, and has been paying close attention to the rise of Hitler.

((OOC: Personal note. I'd like everyone who reads this to remember that this is simply a character. I do not intend for him to be popular with most. I have designed him to be a very hard going, true German. His interest in Hitler, or the rise of the Nazi Reich is in NO WAY a reflection of my own personal beliefs or views. Quick bit of history: The daughter of a major crime boss in New York city, she came to Chicago to visit friends. She is a privileged and highly educated woman who does what she wants when she wants. Francesca is daddy's little princess and she knows it, she is looking to perhaps get a bootleg operation going for her father while she is out in Chicago.
Role: mob bosses daughter, bootlegger and whatever else she feels like doing

weapons: She carries a Derringer but if she needs some one to disappear all she needs to do is have a chat with her father
Personality: ruthless, cold, and without remorse where business is involved but fun loving and a real flirt. However she will kill anyone or anything that poses the slightest threat to her family
Extra info: (secrets, tendencies, etc.) Has a weakness for fine vodka and cigarettes but an even bigger one for a good Cuban cigar. She is the oldest child of Don Joseph Gattarini back in New York.

Appearance: Premature grey hair, clean unwrinkled skin, very German looking.
Quick bit of history: Immigrated from Hamburg Germany when he was 10. At 13 he dropped out of school when he got in with the mob despite his parent’s wishes. They came to American to achieve a better life but Adolph got involved with the danger and mystery of 1920s gang life and never looked back because he was good at it.
Role: Mob Lieutenant, German Mafia

Personality: Serious about the mob, works with the Irish and Italian mafia but doesn’t trust them, he uses them to help them but he is always on guard about them. He enjoys his job in the mob and is good at it, he likes to have fun but since he has a dangerous job he knows when to be serious.
Extra info: Perfectionist, angry, fuse is very short, wants it their way all the time.

Quick bit of history: Born in Detroit. At the age of 23, Sam joined the Detroit Police. Then he met a German immigrant called Sonya. She was the most beautiful, intelligent woman he'd ever met. He married her two years later, after winning her heart and her father's permission. They had their first child, Maria, within a year of marriage.
A few months ago, Sam's father passed away. His father left Sam his house in Chicago. It was nicer than Sam's house in Detroit, so he moved his growing family to Chicago. He joined the Chicago Police and has been working hard for a promotion to Detective.

Personality: He's a friendly, well-mannered man, who's only too happy to lend a hand. He's considered to be pretty simple-minded, but can be surprisingly sharp sometimes. Sam is very protective of his family, as they are the center of his world.
Extra info: His wife is “pureblood” German, but she has nothing to do with the Mafia.

Role: Secretary/Records keeper for Chicago police.
Nationality: Unknown she was just one of thousands of unwanted babies dropped on an orphanage doorstep.

Personality: Bookish, often seems distracted because she has so many different things on her mind. Meticulous, lives only for her job.
Bio: Sheila was the result of a prostitute plying her trade, and since she was an unintended consequence her mother just left on the doorstep of one the Chicago's orphanages late one night. Sheila was never adopted and at the age of 18 she was kicked out of the orphanage, but the lady who ran it was kind enough to get her a job as a secretary in the local precinct. Sheila took to it very quickly and her photographic memory serves her well. Making her an invaluable asset to the station.
Extra info: (secrets, tendencies, etc.) Sheila is an records keeper and secretary for the Chicago police but, at night she studies to be a lawyer. Sheila knows that women are not accepted as lawyers yet but she is determined to be the first.
