 This is a semi-literate role-play. Which means while we encourage new role-players to join us we ask that you post regularly and make your posts several sentences long at least.
RULES---
1.) PM character sheet to Anaithnid Miuil or Darth Ghranna for approval.
2.) Follow TOS
3.) no god-modding
4.) no controlling or killing other people characters without the permission of the person who created the character and the moderators. (PM moderators before you kill a character to keep drama to a minimum)
5.) romance is allowed so long as they fall within the Gaia TOS anything more take it to a PM
6.) you may control up to four characters at a time and NO more. BUT you can create NPC's that all players can control often since it invites group participation. BUT when an NPC is made, all players must use that NPC in the fashion it was created (IE- a crazy NPC should continually act in crazy ways as it was meant to, and a violent one should be violent, just as it was intended by the creator, and so on).
7.) Try to be original, do not make your character a carbon copy of any character already created by a movie, book, video game, etc.
8.) Try and post once a day to every other day to keep things moving. No one likes it when a character that they are interacting with drops off the face of the Earth for a week. If you will be gone for a bit post that in the absence thread
9.) keep your characters arsenal realistic, remember weapons have weight and you need ammo. Keep that in mind when choosing weapons. As awesome as Deadpool maybe no one in real life could carry that much around with them.
10.) no out of character dialogue
11.) please no anime images. I do not want any ten year old Lolitas wielding MP5's. Artwork can be acceptable but please go for something realistic.
This is a zombie apocalypse roleplay. It will combine many elements of different zombie stories, the virus in this scenario was an accident. The year is 2550, and you are on the Earth colonized planet Anderasavi so there is future tech. There are 'Star Wars' style weapons but no lightsabers please. Plasma weapons are available but since the SRC (Space Research Coalition) runs everything they try to keep the heavier stuff for their security forces. So please not everyone has a plasma canon that can take out a bull elephant. The virus is caused by a fungus native to the deep subterranean caves of the planet. Found by mining operation it was brought to an SRC lab for study they lost containment a year and a half ago. For more details read the science fiction to science fact threads first two posts this will give you full idea of the world and should help you with your characters bio!

Character’s Personality: calculating, bookish, not much common sense, when focused on something she forgets everything else
Character's Bio: Isolde is a scientist like her parents before her. However where they were experts in outer space phenomena she focused more on things she could touch, plants. In school she read every book she could on botany. She excelled in school but failed miserably when it came to human relations, she graduated with honors and was sent to research division. When she was twenty-four her parents were killed researching a solar storm. this turned her even more into an introvert. throwing herself into her work she ignored the outside world. When the spores hit there was little change for her her parents were the only people she cared about. With no family, to plead for her she was not among the scientists and other important people taken in the evacuation. One of the few scientist left behind she boarded herself up in her lab while the others tried to make it to their families. When the raiders came to the lab to raid and destroy burning it in effigy blaming the SRC for everything as if it was intentional. Using one of the plasma weapons in she had sealed the doors and melted them shut, locking herself in the botany lab. When the madness died down she used one the air ducts as her way in and out when she needs to forage supplies. With her time she booby trapped the rest of the building and all other access points. Since she is no strong fighter it was the only way she could keep safe.

 Character's Name: Captain James Maine Character's Age: 29 Character Faction: Military Remnant Character's Gender: Male Character’s Country or City of Origin: Military Base Alpha, on planet Anderasavi Character's Job Before Virus: SRC special forces experimental unit Weapons Carried: Kriss Vector, Crossbow, Desert Eagle, Two knives Character’s Personality: James is easily angered and at times he seems crazy. But he is also loyal and hard working if he comes to trust or respect you. Character's Bio: James was born on the first military base of the planet. He was very destructive when he was young. His parents not sure what to do, so they sent him to military school. At school he accelerated and was recruited immediately upon graduation. James continued preforming above and beyond expectations of all officers, later he was transferred to a secret unit that experimented on the men to make them have better endurance and stamina so they can survive harder conditions. James still maintained the highest level of preference. On one mission to kill a drug lord he was shot in throat, surviving by miracle of modern science he still kept on proving he was worth something. Extra Information: Since his throat was shot out. Character’s Personality: highly aggressive, but detached. She enjoys hunting and she enjoys the fear that she brings.
Character's Bio: Her parents were miners who came to the planet to work in the yttrium mine and then the neodymium mines. Lilith was an angry child who resented her parents picking up and moving so often. Thinking to teach them a lesson she often rebelled and got into trouble. When she seventeen, her parents came down hard on her and tried to explain what her life could become if she didn't straighten out her act. Not long after that she was arrested for vandalism with some of the other minors children and sent to a juvenile hall. When Lilith returned it cured her of her stupidity, but not her bad behavior. Trying to set up a good front she got a job as a waitress in a simple tavern and inn. Lilly found her dream job after she fought off some robber who tried to jump her, on her way home in the slums. Later she was visited by one of his bosses and she was recruited for a street fighting gang. The money was good and she had an easy vent for her anger at how pitiful her life was, and how little her life mattered or would ever matter. She knew she would end up as a worthless miner like her parents and she would rather die in a street than face that. When the virus struck she tried to get to her parents but they were among some of the first infected, so she returned to her gang. Or as she would say her real family. After the advice she rose through the ranks and is now the right hand of the gang.
Extra Information: She has a collection of mementos from the people she has killed in her quarters.

Picture: Character's Name: Victor Kraus Character's Age: 36 Character Faction: raider captain Character's Gender: male Character’s Country or City of Origin: Moscow Russia Character's Job Before Virus: cereal killer/ resident of the asylum Weapons Carried: Bolt pistol (semi-automatic weapon that fires explosive rounds), Chain Axe (axe with a chainsaw for its blade edge) Character’s Personality: Victor suffers from split personalities, and severe paranoia. Character's Bio: As a young boy his homelife was less than stellar, watching his father murder his mom in a fit of rage caused Victor to snap. The dark side took hold and murdered him in vengeance, after leaving a spree of bodies he was brought to a new facility out of the country to try new forms of treatment for deranged criminals. After a few years of laughing his way through treatment, they put him into cryogenic stasis and moved him to Anderasavi. They hoped that a new environment might trigger a change, when they thawed him out however he took the face off of one of the scientists. Deciding he was a lost cause they again imprisoned him with full intentions of execution. A couple days before the execution was set to take place something amazing happened, the zombies broke him out... Taking it as a sign he picked up where he left off. Extra Information: His main personality is the borderline sociopath that went on a killing spree and leads the raiders, the other is a confused and scared man hiding behind the monster. Character's Job Before Virus: Head of Biomechatronic Research. Weapons Carried: A flechette pistol and a plasma cannon in his right arm. Character’s Personality: Quiet and a loner. He knows how smart he is and this can come off as arrogance. Character's Bio: Graduated from MIT with a doctorate in Biomechatronic engineering, he tried to get a job working on military Bio-mech augmentations but ended up on Anderasavi doing R&D for air purification implants. While traveling from one city to another on business his transport was attacked by a group of pirates and he lost his arm. He replaced it with an arm he designed himself complete with a suite of delicate-touch tools and a plasma cannon. Extra Information: The plasma cannon in his arm operates by firing a laser, creating a channel down which a bolt of electricity is fired. The result is a beam of plasma that is as destructive as it is flashy. His pistol fires fin-stabilized needles that are coated with a toxin that breaks down biological matter at the molecular level.  Character's Name: Jake "Frankenstein" Nelson Character's Age: 27 Character Faction: Unaligned Character's Gender: Male Character’s Country or City of Origin: Cortos factory town, on planet Anderasavi Character's Job Before Virus: Former Prisoner/ Mechanic/ Welder Weapons Carried: Large box open ended wrench, Glock 17, Pump 8 gauge shotgun. Character’s Personality: He is easy to anger. Hardworking with a little ADHD. He is always working hard to make any work his best. But can be violent. Character's Bio: Jake was born without money in a small factory town. His parents were drinkers and a very abusive. One day Jake snapped and killed his parents. Entering prison at the age of 16, he became mad whenever someone started to beat on him or called him a parent killer. He had put 5 of the most dangerous criminals in the infirmary with broken legs, arms, backs, jaws, and any other appendage that he could break. During his time he couldn't focus on anything but cars. After four years of good behavior he was allowed to work on the cars all the time. After the warden was proud of all his work he let Jake out after he customized a transport truck for the prison. He was released at 25 and started his own shop. He built and fixed cars for who ever wanted a customized car. Once the zombie outbreaks started he began to build up his shops walls. After he needed food he fixed and customized a Dodge 3500 and started to trade with military and other groups. After a while the military gave him two minute guns for his truck in order to make trips safer. He drives around trading his skills for shelter, gas, ammo, food, and clothes. Character's Job Before Virus: Farmer/Farm Hand. Weapons Carried: 5" Bowie Knife, Single-Shot Breech-Loaded Railgun, Hatchet. Character’s Personality: Slow to slang and general conversation, but loyal as a dog to those who are nice to him. Character's Bio: I guess I'm only really on this planet because of pa. He got paid extra for bringing me for the whole "colonization of the planet" thing, and an extra set of hands for the plantation equipment. Back before the virus, I wasn't any more than a country boy. Yeah the city were right there, but there wasn't much in that fer me. I was always better at getting lost in the woods then between buildings I tell you what! I was also a crackshot by the age of ten. That was just with my pa's .22 though, but as I kept gettin' bigger, so did the guns. Eventually my granpappy left me an ol' project of his. It was heavy at the time and just short of a cannon, but it could fling a steel ball like no tomorrow with no kick. Imagine that! My granpappy buildin' his own railgun! So while helpin' maintain the automated machinery on the farm, I took what scarpped parts I could and tinkered with ol' pappy's machine, 'cause dad never cared what I did with it. He said, "ol' pappy left that to you to do with what you want, 'sides, thing don't kick like my .45!" By the time I was 26, I had it down a third of its size and still fully functional, and just like our farm equipment, plug it into the solar adaptor and it'd charge in about an hour and last 50 shots of the .30cal bearings I got! Accurate too! And you could use almost any metal! Sad thing happened 2 years later though. We all know what that is. Sure we had enough food for ourselves, but we couldn't shut everyone out. With the extra help we kept the farm runnin' for four years... but that's when the raiders showed up. They didn't even seem to care about the food, only the killin'. Dad was one of the last defenders to die, and by rights I should have been with him. I must've fell out the window into a wheat pile, then some bodies fell on me. So... that's how I got here now. Most of the time, she is quiet and reserved, but is very intellectual and will be crass and sarcastic to those who offend her or disrespect her in any way she feels. She also says what is on her mind and is not afraid to be old school. Character's Bio: Raised by a father mechanic and a stay-at-home mother, Yesenia was raised in a very Mexican/Indian lifestyle. She was brought up to be hard headed and has learned many things the hard way. Others she learned precariously through her parents and friends and employers. After her school education, she worked in a space craft/hovering craft auto shop where she was sexually harassed by her boss simply because she was a girl mechanic. Once he even tried to take advantage of her while she was closing up shop. Yesenia grabbed a socket wrench and smashed it into his head, knocking him out for a while and causing severe brain damage. She was taken to court for battery and assault, and she countered it with self-defense and a sexual harassment suit. She won, and with her money she opened her own auto shop and hired only the best in the world of mechanics to work at her shop. Soon the virus had broken out, and she closed her shop, and has been defending herself ever since, trying to find someone to help or someone to be around for help. Extra Information: Yesenia has many scars on her back from when her boss tried to take advantage of her. She also has a clean scar running along her chest down to her right hip. She make friends easily and protects her friends and family. Character's Bio: Before the Virus she was in the Police academy after graduating in school with honors in Law enforcement. She was working on a normal day when the virus broke out and the colonists was to fend for themselves. She decided to dedicate her work and skills to helping others and finding any survivors in the colony. Weapons Carried: Magnum - Baby Desert Eagle II, 15 round. Dual Plasma Rifles- A Covenant directed energy weapon, that uses a superheated ionized gaz called plasma instead of projectile ammunition, capable of semi-automatic and full automatic fire. Stun Baton - A non-lethal, electrical baton weapon used to temporarily short out it's victorm's nervous system. Knife - Custom made for his mother. He prefers not to use it due to sentimental value. Hook Shot - A grapling hook in the form of a black pistol. Character’s Personality: Noah is quite the confusing person until one gets to know him. He is easily aggrivated and sometimes bossy, but can also be playful at times; teasing others for fun. He nowmally shows great sensibility on the field, always following orders without questioning his superiors, and though not showing it upfront, compassion for his team. Even so, he can show sides of immaturity, as he can not stand to lose; willing to forget all strategies and throw himself into open danger to make sure he isn't outshown. Character's Bio: Noah is the son of the highest ranking general on planet Anderasavi. Being so, along with his normal studies, he was forced into military training at a young age, and not given special treatment. In fact, it was quite the opposite. Being the generals son meant that he had to exceed all aspects in order not to give his father a bad name. Weaponry, Hand to hand combat, Free running, and more; he had to be not good, not even great, he had to be one of the best. And he was.. Though, this was still not enough for his father. At the age of 17, he was taken to the SRC Experimental Unit, under his fathers orders, where he was experimented on to improve his performance, though, his body was unable to handle the full extent of the experiment. While he gained endurance and stamina, his body rejected any type of growth, leaving him shorter and physically weaker than most of the other operatives. This angered his father and ultimately led him to reject Noah. Striving to regain his fathers acceptance, Noah joined the SRC forces, and took on any and all assignments that he could, one of them leading him to test out a new weapon designed by the SRC known as the plasma rifle. Which, even after stated being a failed weapon, because it was no more powerful than a regular rifle, Noah decided to keep. Extra Information: Noah is the youngest member of the SRC Special Forces, and though he isn't pysically as strong or big as as most other members of the force, he is the fastest and makes up for what he lacks in skill, which is said to almost be comparable to Capitain James Maine. He decided to keep the Plasma Rifles partly due to it's maneuverability, it being smaller than regular assault rifles making it easier for him to carry, and partly because he wanted to prove that a failed experiment can still have positive results. Character’s Personality: He's really just quiet most of the time, and only talks when he's with someone else, meaning he really doesn't talk to himself much. He may try to help allies if he's not overwhelmed.
Character's Bio: Carlson was one to experiment with the new technology and market it in a shop he opened on Anderasavi before the crisis. He also experimented with weapons, testing their efficiency for the military until the neodymium fungus zombified its many victims. He had taken a plasma rifle from his gunshop to defend himself from raiders and zombies for the time being.
Extra Information: He has some arguably stunning accuracy with an SMG.
