xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Dante doesn't like listening to people, and he hates it when people tell him his opinion is wrong, outright. When he's set in believing something, no one (literally no one) can tell him otherwise. This trait is also how he's managed to keep his mind focused down the track of revenge for so long. This also affects his emotions and relationships with others. He doesn't trust easily, and when he does, he believes that they'll never betray him.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx If you were able to capture him, you could put him through any type of torture you want; you'll never break him. He can keep his head through any situation, and will see his plans through to the very end. If anything comes up that isn't a part of his plan, he'll just work his way through it without fail. Even if his crew betrays him and he's the last man standing, he won't back down.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Though he can be rough around the edges, when Dante is loyal to someone, they can be sure he'll never stab them in the back or sell them out. He expects them to do the same as well. Though Dante trusting anyone is rare, because he's survived this far by not putting his complete trust in any single person. Also, when he's loyal to a cause, like his own thirst for revenge, he'll make sure that it gets done, no matter what.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx If he likes you enough, Dante can even be slightly friendly. Though the way he expresses his friendliness can be a little rough and not as friendly as you would expect from any other normal person, you'd have to remember that he's still a pirate, an orphan who grew up on the wrong side of the tracks. He's only close to his crew, whom he sees as a second family, but even they don't have his complete trust yet and he can still keep his distance from them enough...

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Arius is very honest with people. He does not like lies or rumors and would rather avoid being the center of them if possible. As the crown prince though, such is actually rather hard to avoid. Being that man's son make it even harder. He finds that lying to be quite a waste of time and believes it makes life much simpler if you just say whats on your mind. Some have said that he can be too honest however and his bluntness has, on more than one occasion, led to much unwanted trouble. It's the source of all his problems really but Arius just so happens to be a tad bit too dense or oblivious to realize such. The fact that he gets too easily caught up in his emotion tends to make matters for him and those around him even worse.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx The whole 'think before you act' thing doesn't exactly work out for Arius. The whole trying to avoid trouble doesn't work for him either. If he's not causing trouble (unintentionally of course), trouble would usually come looking for him. Such is his affinity for attracting it. He might even have some sort of hero complex cause Arius is always trying to save the day. If he sees someone in trouble he just can't leave them alone. This is mainly how he got into his current predicament in the first place.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx The glass half full type of guy. The type who believes that everything has a silver lining; that there is good in all people. A positive thinker, idealistic, and a dreamer; he believes that people and events are inherently good, so that most situations work out in the end for the best. This aspect of him also makes him a bit too trusting however. This being also the main reason of why Aruis has no hate for Dante despite all the things the man has said and done.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Well, he's a prince. What did you expect? Born into luxury, it's all to obvious he's grown up having things always going his way. Of course, such is not to the point of where he would be conceited or vain however. His mother raised him to be better than that. Arius is simply someone who is true to himself, the kind who stands up for what he believe in even when other people might not agree. Once he sets his mind on something, there is no turning back.

↗ BIRTH & EARLY CHILDHOOD ↖
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx It was a marriage of necessity, simply a business proposition. His mother and father had no love for one another whatsoever. Not even hate. Just simple toleration and after Arius was born, his father distant himself even further as he believed a woman and child would only prove to bring him down. The only consideration his father had for him was that he was his one and only heir and would assign for him tutors of all kind in teaching him the basic of etiquette, swordsmanship and his duty as crown prince. He wasn't a very quick learner however as he would spend most of his time daydreaming rather than listening to his tutors; not something one should be doing especially when in the middle of combat lesson. More often than not, Arius would return to his mother's side at the end of the day with bruises and cuts all over and with tears in his eyes.
↗ TEEN YEAR & FIRST LOVE ↖
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx When Arius was fifteen, he would often sneak away from his tutors and escape into the city outside his castle walls. In disguise, he would pretend he was simply a common street kid and hang with the other kids of the city. It was a new experiences for Arius as it was rare to meet people his age within the castle's walls; and as it was rare that he was even allowed outside of the castle, not many knew his face and so he blended in well enough. It was perhaps the happiest moments ever in Arius life and he had come to make many friends. There was one person Arius became closest to however, a male known as Eros, and Arius eventually developed a crush for the other. Love at first sight you could say. The fact that the other was four years his senior and happened to also be a man made everything rather awkward for Arius though.

It took a lot out of Arius to confess his feeling but imagine his surprise when he found that they were returned. Sadly, all had been a lie however as Eros had only behaved so in order to use him. Eros held a deep hatred for the King and having secretly found out that Arius was the crown prince, he wanted to used him as a means to get close to his father. All of Eros plans failed however and he was sentences to death but for unknown reason, Eros had somehow escaped his dungeon and disappeared. It's speculated on whether Arius had a hand in Eros' escape but none has yet to be proven. Though he was deeply wounded by Eros' acts, it paining him whenever he thought of the other, Arius never hated him for it as he wanted to believe that somewhere deep down, Eros did truly cared for him in some way or another.
↗ MOTHER'S DEATH ↖
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Arius mother had always been a frail woman. Even during his birth, much complications had followed before he was even born. Many had even said she would not even survive the birthing and that it was a miracle in itself that she had. After his birth, his mother's health had never really recover as it only continued to decline further and further with each passing moment. Eventually it reached the point of where she became bedridden, her frail and worn body wasting away. It pained Arius to seeing his mother in such a state. Despite his mother's decline, it angered Arius to know that his father never once bother to come pay her a visit. He must be busy. He must have his a reasons... The day of his eighteenth birthday was the day his mother passed away and even then, his father was nowhere to be seen.
↗ THE START OF AN ADVENTURE ↖
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Arius never wanted to be a prince. If he had a choice, he would have simply given it all away in exchange for an ordinary commoner's life. What he wanted truly was an adventure. He wanted to be free from his father's and Cidolfus' grasp and live his life the way wanted. As things were no longer the same ever since his mother's death, Arius found that he could no longer stand the palace life, especially not after his father all too sudden thought it was time he payed more attention to his son and give him first hand experiences on what it was like to be a king. With everything escalating to the point of where he could take it no more, Arius simply ran away. Might not be the best of choices however. Look at where it got him after all: stuck on a pirate ship as hostage alongside the mysterious, yet dashing, pirate captain, Dante.
