PERSONALITY: Tsuki is a very quiet girl. She was raised to be the “perfect daughter”, to be the “perfect princess”, and that is who she has become. Secretly, she can be a bit wild though. Tsuki has a big heart, so she has a lot of love and kindness to give people, and animals. If she sees an animal or a person who is hurting, she will do anything and everything she can to help them. She is also the kind of person to put their own life before others. Despite being wild, in secret of course, she is a very shy type of person. When she first meets someone, she won’t say much, much to the disappointment of her father at times.
BIOGRAPHY: Tsuki Ren was born in her father’s palace. She has lived there all her life, and has hardly ever left the palace. She has had many “friends”, but they were all really servants that came and went. She has one friend she has had for as long as she can remember though. Nanami has always been there for her and she considers her to be her closest friend of all. The two of them have helped each other through anything and everything they can.
At the age of about 12, Tsuki snuck out with Nanami. Tsuki did not want to return, and she ended up falling asleep, lost somewhere outside the palace. When she woke, she was back in her room in the palace. Nanami was asleep beside her, and she knew right away her friend had gotten her back safely, even keeping her out of trouble. Tsuki is now betrothed to a prince in another country, and she is afraid, very afraid, but she knows as long as Nanami is around, she will be fine.

PERSONALITY: Alex is very much a serious and literal person. He has never been one for sarcasm and metaphors, and instead tends to want people to say what they mean, although odds are in his position that it won't happen. He also tends to stay formal and proper even with his closest friends, making casual conversation around him somewhere between difficult and impossible to attain. He's very much one for the intellectual aspect of most things, and actually tries to go to the root of every problem, trying to find the most logical argument and supporting that one. Sadly enough, though, he tends to doubt his father and his kingdom because of that, because he often isn't given all of the pieces and sides to the problem or simply cannot find the logic in the king's stance. Regardless, though, he often doesn't act on these opinions, in fear of being looked down on by his father. Overall appearance is mostly a concern with him overall, actually, and he tries to look good to his people and to his family.
BIOGRAPHY: Alex is very much a product of his surroundings. Almost from the moment he was born, he was surrounded by tutors, who taught him everything from mathematics to swordplay to anatomy. Anything he took an interest in or he or his father deemed important he got a teacher for and was trained in. He earned training from the finest soldiers, the wisest scholars, and the greatest masters of their craft.
One of the lessons he learned early on, though, was to take nothing at face value. Everything had secrets, or otherwise something to hide. He quickly realized that people, as well as his interests, had secrets, but they also had alternate agendas, and knew how to lie, and knew how to manipulate people.
As he entered his teens, his learning came less from his tutors and more from his father, the king, who taught him how to rule. The king taught him to rule, and to keep up his appearance to his people. He must look natural but refined, powerful and yet humble. It quickly became habit for him to remain formal and proper no matter who he was talking to.
Recently, he has become engaged to the princess of the Ren empire, though he isn't quite sure how to feel about it yet. He is happy for then end of the war, but he has never really met her yet.

PERSONALITY: Kyoko is a very willful teenager - unlike her sister, she was never treated well and the only way she got anyone's attention was by going against the rules; unfortunately this brought the wrong type of attention and soon she was living up to her "low blood" status. As Kyoko grew older, she realized that she wanted praise and recognition from everyone around her and began taking her lessons seriously. She worked hard to perfect everything she worked but it still wasn't enough, still, Kyoko tries - hoping that one day people will stop looking down on her. Also, due to the fact that no one associated themselves with her, Kyoko grew up very lonely.
BIOGRAPHY: Unlike her elder sister Tsuki, Kyoko is not of full royal blood. Her father - the current Emperor - had fooled around with one of the servants and she ended up being pregnant. At first, the servant tried to hide her pregnancy and the her actions of sleeping with the Emperor in fear of the Emperess' wrath - but she could not hide it for long.
When she gave birth, the baby girl was born with the Emperor's red hair but the mother's golden eyes. Immediately people knew that the child was the Emperor's as he was the only person in the Ren Empire with red hair. (Her sister took after the Emperess in looks.) Of course, the news reached the Empereor and the Emperess and both called the servant and the child to the palace.
Upon seeing the child, the Emperess was livid with anger - both at the Emperor and at the servant, though she directed most of her anger at the servant and the child. The Emperess wished for both of their executions for "tainting" the royal bloodline - but the Emperor did not wish to be humiliated by killing his own child, so he took the child from the servant and cast her out. The baby was named Kyoko Ren and she became the second Princess of the Ren Empire.
Life for Kyoko was extremely difficult. She was always seen as a "lowborn" by almost everyone in the palace due to her "tainted blood" and was always treated much for harshly than her elder sister. Tsuki was one of the few people in the palace that treated her kindly and Kyoko always looked up to her elder sister.
The difference in how they were treated also showed in their personalities - whereas Tsuki was calm and graceful, Kyoko was willful and stubborn. She grew up surrounded by ugly feeling directed at her and became quite stubborn and headstrong. Kyoko decided that she would become a Princess worthy of the Ren Empire and threw herself into her studies - but still, she was always looked down upon.
Now, at the age of sixteen she has been sent to the Kingdom of Vesper with a few others to "bring peace to the Ren Empire" though she knows that she is being sent away for good in hopes that the Emperor's mistake will be forgotten.

PERSONALITY: Most would describe her as serious and eerily quiet. Even when she does speak, it is usually about something that she thinks is necessary for someone to know, or to correct somebody where needed. She always follows her orders without question, and does not take kindly to any perceived slight towards Princess Tsuki or any other member of the royal family, really. Nanami is always ready to help, within reason, and is patient. But she is also has poor skills when it comes to normal social situations (casual interactions with her peers), and remains distant from almost everyone except the eldest princess. She does tend to hold a grudge, so if someone gets on her bad side, they better be careful. Maids can be sneaky.
BIOGRAPHY: Nanami was born into a very poor family, which was also very large. She and two of her other siblings were sold into slavery at an early age to pay off some of the family’s debts. For a couple of years she was bounced between different households, some nice and others less so. Despite wanting to find her other siblings and run back home, she remained where she was. She knew if she didn’t, her family would pay for it. When she was seven, she was taken to the palace and sold to the royal family. There she was groomed to be the ideal companion and attendant for the eldest princess Tsuki, who she'd be serving for the rest of her life. It wasn’t too bad though, since the princess was very nice to her. Soon, they even became friends, and Nanami vowed to ensure her happiness. But with the recent betrothal of the princess to the eldest prince of Vesper, Nanami worries about Tsuki...

GOALS IN LIFE: Becoming a General in his father's army
PERSONALITY: Nathan was never one for showing emotions, having long been use to keeping his emotions bottled up inside him. With the childhood he had, none can fault him for it really. Having always been compared to his brother's 'greatness' had left Nathan with quite an slight inferiority complex after all. The only time Nathan had ever shown signs of emotions, was whenever he was hanging out with the men of his father's army and learning the way of war. He would always appear happier then instead of when he was thrust behind a desk and forced to learning politics and proper etiquette or any form of book work that didn't require learning war formations or battle strategies. Hacking and slashing away with a sword, Nathan found that such came quite naturally to him and he learn to take much pride in his skill. It was one of the few things that he held over Alex after all.
Nathan is pretty sharp and perceptive to people's feelings around him. He is also, more often than not, quiet and reserved, and his intuitive and observant nature allows him to remain calm during dire situations. He also has a strong sense of personal pride that can sometime make him appear arrogant. Though Nathan is not known to be a temperamental person, there are time when he has been force to act out in fits of anger. Such occasion usually only happens when someone close or dear to him is involved. He can prove to be very intimidating if he is provoke far enough. Nathan is actually a very distrustful person, his childhood and constant comparison to his brother having left him with a rather bleak and detached outlook on life. It takes a lot to win over his trust but when you do, you'll have a friend for life.
BIOGRAPHY: Nathanial's childhood was not so different from Alex's own. It was as generic as any princely life could be. Well, as generic as any second prince life anyway. Though his coming was not met with grand celebration as had his brother who was first born and heir, his parents nonetheless gave him all the love that any parent could give to their child. He was treated no differently from his brother, given the same teachings, tutors and learning, but it was obvious in the end however that compared to his esteem elder brother, Nathan was severely lacking in princeliness charms, behavior, and skills. Nathan was always one step behind, stuck in his brother's shadow. Upon understanding this, it had left Nathan with somewhat of an inferiority complex, making him question why he had even been born a prince in the first place if none would care to see his true worth? Growing up, he had initially come to believe that he was useless, unneeded. He just never felt as if he belonged. Compared to his brother, it was all too obvious that Nathan was not suited to palace life.
Nathan's bleak world began to brighten however when he found acceptance in his father's army. Skipping away from tutors and book learning, Nathan would always find his way into the barracks, watching as the men train and mock fight with one another. He would 'oooo' and 'aaah' at their display of skills and would try to imitate them with stick and branches he would find on the ground. Thrusting, hacking and slashing... the feel of muscles pulling, sweat dripping, adrenaline pumping- and the weight of a sword in your hand. It was too apparent that a soldier's life definitely suited Nathan more than princely life.
