When asked to confirm or deny online play in the US release of Monster hunter 3G: Yuri L. Araujo, Associate Online/Community Specialist, Capcom U.S.A. As for the online support, we've announced the Wii U can go online. 3DS has local multiplayer only. If that's something you really want to see happen, head on to the MH forums and start talking about it there - then I can bring it up the chain with some supporting evidence. =) In response, the capcom unity community has started a petition. http://www.change.org/petitions/capcom-co-add-online-multiplayer-in-monster-hunter-3-ultimate-for-3ds# I know it's unlikely to happen, but how long does signing a petition take? I use gmail, so I can give my email as "myEmail+petitions@gmail.com" and set up a spam filter for anything sent to me with the +petitions tacked on, if they ever give away my email address. So far I haven't had to.

sigh i say we shouldn't have to sign a petition for a feature that would clearly be AWESOME to have in the game.
honestly.
oh hey we're making a FPS game for the wiiu should we add in the full 1:1 ratio movement along with a really nice looking perif or leave you hangin with the boring old perif every other games uses? should we have online multi so you can compete with the world or limit it to split screen so you only get 1/2 or 1/4 your normal screen size to beat up on your friends?
when you play console MH do you want to be pretty much alone or have to have friends come over to play just so you can have a nice 1080p HD display? or would a player rather be able to allow his friends the same benefit of a nice display screen to play MH on?
this is why i've been sayin crapcom is screwin the pooch. tri only fell short because they let it.
unite, though lacking any online nowadays, was a VERY expansive game i've put many hours into cause the mission get tough and theres plenty of challenges to fight.
tri, i only had to get 100 hours at the most to rank up, beat every monster and quest, and each arena fight, and be bored with it. my 200+ hours i had afterwards was merely helping friends and grinding to build neat ultimate armors for specific uses.
if 3 ultimate turns out like Freedom Unite did or better, i'll prolly get it.
but if its just 3G juiced up a bit. pass.

Let's not pretend this isn't a classic capcom cash grab to tide fans over until monster hunter 4.
But Tri was awesome, and I hadn't really gotten my fill by the time everyone stopped wanting to play.
Plus I kinda had my faith in Capcom bolstered by Resident Evil Revelations. That game was all kinds of crazy good, and chock-full-o-content.

What's the reason it's not in there in the first place? How can any developer justify this?

It's justified by Japanese people buying it anyway.
It's really popular over in japan, so it's not like people would have a lot of trouble finding other people to play with, I guess. I'm gonna guess that is how the developer justified it.

Japan's a lot more dense. Apparently Wi-Fi hasn't really even caught on that much there because people just wirelessly connect with one another because they're all packed in like sardines.

I don't see why density has anything to do with it. How do people in Kyoto play with people in Tokyo? ******** them, I guess they don't.

Xilo The Odd they is secretly rival gangs if this has no online, w/e y'know. if 4 doesn't have it. some one is gettin d**k Slapped by a whale It'll be a shame if they screwed it up that badly. When they see how majorly 3DSU (This is what I'm calling it) flops in the US, they might just decided the series isn't liked in the US, and it'd be their own stupid fault for not giving the series what it needs to thrive outside Japan.

That country is so close together that they don't often make friends on the other end of the island like we do in our country.

They're only a world leader in technology, why would they need Wi-Fi?

At least Capcom's main entry games still have online, and 3G is mainly for Japan as it is. What is Pikmin 3's excuse? Or New Mario U? Or Mario Party? Those games aren't even going to reside mainly in Japan; they're worldwide games. There's absolutely no excuse for them not having online play.
