Kiwi had spent a rather lazy, humid afternoon helping several of his clansmen in pitching a new tent. They were trying to expand the merchandise available at their shop, and being the honorable soldier he was, he was more than happy to pitch in. Kiwi's thin, lean muscles groaned against the twine as he struggled to pull, lifting the dwelling higher. Heave. Ho. Heave. Ho.
One of the clansmen called out behind him, driving a stake into the soil. Kiwi relaxed his grip, letting the tent unfurl before him. A sudden loud chatter caught his ears however, and the horseman's gaze shifted across the reserve. A tall figure seemed to be coming this way, seemingly followed by a circle of giggling mares.
He chuckled. There was only one horseman who could woo the mares into such a frenzy:
Soren.
Kiwi's face broke into a wide grin. He couldn't stop himself, but he was curious just how one stallion managed to attract so much attention ...
He abandoned his post with a nod to the Famine clansman beside him, trekking quickly across the ground to fall in line beside the Death Guardian. He may or may not have received an approving look in this moment, but crossed his arms behind his head nonchalantly nonetheless. A smile uncurled itself across his lips. "... You do realize half the clan must be following you right now?? ..." He meant it as a light joke, but it was uncertain whether his humor passed judgement. Soren could be quite stoic at times. " ... Just how do you keep such a dashing physique, Soren??"
If his curiosity was not apparent, his smile at least, very well was.

Soren knew he was not funny, not in the usual sense. So when he had a small herd of mares at his back he knew something was up. But it was not his fault. The mare resided in a tent and despite his repeated murmurs she would not stay quiet. It was no wonder that several of her friends had taken to following him, trying to get his attention as if they had nothing better to do.
So when he was joined by the young Famine stallion the look he gave him was definitely approving, and perhaps slightly relieved. The comment was met with a quiet snort of laughter. hardly half the clan but certainly more than expected. But he was not at fault, he was not the one that spoke about his... extracurricular activities. But he was not entirely certain if the second question was meant to ad to the joke or was serious until he looked over, noting the curiosity. He raised his eyebrows slightly.
"I can show you my technique." He was just addressing the other stallion, but his low rumble filled the air around him, and a couple of the mares began looking between the two of them and giggling anew. Soren looked at them, evenly, face blank, and it was almost impossible to tell if he was joking or not. "He shows promise."
Over the next few days Kiwi might himself receiving a few speculative looks. The types of looks that might make him consider wearing pants.

Kiwi nodded, taking this all in as he dropped to his feet by Soren. He made a mental note to research more into 'chinups', 'pushups', and 'crunches'. "Ah well, I usually perform a brisk warm-up, followed by a long bout of punches and jabs towards my 'opponent', and finished up with a relaxing sprint along the perimeter."
In fact, his normal regimens usually included pummeling the nearest tree trunk with his bare fists, knees, and heels, working his way up it as if coming face to face with a swarm of hunters. It was quite a helpful anger management technique for all the rage he held towards those pesky humans, and perhaps was one of the reasons why he often seemed so cheerful. Not to say that he didn't also enjoy a nice brisk run along the training area perimeter to relax afterwards.

Soren thought about it for a moment as he removed his armor and gauntlet. "Don't let all of your training be fighting. You've got to build up strength to make your attacks effective. The young stallion seemed pretty agile, and that was something he could probably make use of. "Use different positions. They may seem odd but they can be effective."
He knew this would likely look ridiculous, but he looked at the trees and found what he was looking for, starting to scale it. There was a solid branch that forked slowly, heavy and thick enough to hold him, though he gave it a fairly firm testing before he began to maneuver, wedging his booted feet in and then slowly dropping his weight down, adjusting until finally he let go of the branch, hanging upside down. It was hard to talk like this so he just demonstrated, tensing his abdominal muscles and pulling himself up, dropping back down to twist from side to side, every conscious of his balance.
Righting himself was the hardest, leaning up until he could grasp the branch, holding onto it with his hands in a firm grip as he freed his feet, finally dropping back down to land beside Kiwi. "Its hard. You'll need shoes or wraps. Work up to it.
Then he began eyeing the other equipment the area offered, a slow hint of a smile tugging at the corners of his lips.

Soren nodded, seeming pleased enough with the current efforts. It never hurt to try it on the ground where one could really put their full energy into it before attempting the more difficult positions.
But still, this was no where near enough. He moved to something he had seen with delight, but had not yet approached. two trees that had been close enough that someone had nailed on the proper notches, the same width apart, scaling up the tree. Nearby was a short length of a sturdy bar, and that was what Soren was going to demonstrate next, hoping it would hold his weight.
"You can also try this piece of equipment," he pointed out, before beginning to demonstrate. It was difficult for him, and for the lighter stallion it would probably be a bit easier, but he did have experience so at least he was not making a complete fool of himself as he began to move up the trees.

Kiwi watched Soren as he took the pole, and placing it in one of the grooves between the trees, began to ascend. One wrong move, and he could easily over-do it, he noted. He would have to be careful.
Once Soren was done, Kiwi accepted the pole, and placing it carefully drew in a deep breath-
-and leaped.
He landed on the rung, and breathing a sigh of relief, aimed for the next, making sure to work his core a bit more this time. Like so, he scaled the tree fairly easily. It was almost like climbing one, in a way. He dropped back to the ground in a steady glide, beaming to Soren as he placed the pole back where it had been found. "I believe I enjoy that one. Is there anything else??"
