Tambrey didn't look like she was sure what to do at all. All that time waiting for this and a brand new life was suddenly emerging from the pod She smiled, blinked, frowned, took a step forward, then thought better of it and checked they had a pokéball ready. She stopped and watched as Pinkie approached the other ponyta. Octavia nickered at them and Tambrey blinked again and then held up a hand, finding herself waving at the little pony. "Uh. Hi."
The machine sprayed something powdery, perhaps to clean Octavia as she emerged, though her own flames would take on some of that work. It didn't seem to hurt her. A printer rattled out data before finally falling silent and leaving just the, unsteady-on-her-legs, ponyta moving or making noise from the machine.
Octavia wobbled as she took a few steps forward; her eyes had developed in growth and though she'd been mostly used to the dimness of her tank, it was not too difficult for them to gradually focus and grow used to the lab light. She saw the two humans that she'd seen coming and going and messing with her machine- she didn't know they were 'humans' of course, but she understood they were different to her. She also understood that they were the first and only beings she had seen when she first became aware, and so her first nicker- a somewhat musical noise that was just a noise and no sense to human or pokémon- was directed toward them. She tilted her head at the reaction, blinked sleepily, and turned her attention to Pinkie, letting out a snort of greeting. Octavia wasn't sure why- these weren't words at all- but felt confident that this was the 'correct' sound to address her 'sister' (a term the long-haired human, in human talk, had used).

Oh good. That was right. The new Ponyta hadn't been sure at all. Octavia seemed fine with being sniffed at, at least, but another step forward caused a small problem for her. She squeaked in alarm as she wobbled and side-stepped unexpectedly, -nearly- falling over but managing to stabilise herself. Her mind, developed, sought out the information she needed... Something instinctual that manifested itself from her mouth. << Me... Legs... No... Happy. >> That... did not seem quite right. Octavia whinnied, looked concerned, hoping Pinkie understood, while her mind stubbornly whirred, looking for a better combination of the sounds hidden within it.
Tambrey started forward as Octavia nearly fell over, but held herself back as the Ponyta managed to get her legs under control. "Um... Pinkie. Octavia's completely new so... We don't know what she knows and what she understands.. So. If she doesn't understand this," Tambrey addressed the pink Ponyta, moving to stand closer to both "could you explain a little?" She then addressed the grey mare. "Hi. I'm Tambrey... Rory and I," she indicated Rory with her hand and by looking back at him "made you from a part of Pinkie. You're sisters... um, kind of... and... Rory is Pinkie's trainer... I am going to be your trainer. If.. that's okay." If that's okay? Octavia was a Ponyta and young enough to believe anything... Apparently though, she needed permission from her? Tambrey mentally sighed at herself.
Octavia, meanwhile, looked from Rory, to Tambrey, and back at Pinkie. Her expression did look quizzical; she'd half understood some of that, but Pinkie, she believed, would make more sense.

<> The grey Ponyta frowned for a moment, concentrating and then brightening up as she discovered that walking was what let her move. Moving. Moving was fun. Something in her was telling her that 'moving' was something she needed to know more about. She seemed to be getting the hang of using words the more she heard the other Ponyta speak. <> She looked at Tambrey, then actually at Rory. <> So. These humans were 'Rory'. Perhaps that made sense. She knew that she and Pinkie were the same thing- it was in their voices even- she somehow 'knew'. <> She stomped her hoof <> So. Where did 'Tambrey' fit into all that. Oh. Wait, she knew! <> She found her name and then looked at Tambrey. <> Octavia moved forward, suddenly affectionately, aiming a nuzzle at the older Ponyta. <> She nodded, and then was aware of Tambrey tentatively reaching a hand out to stroke her nose. That seemed acceptable; it felt nice. <> The plea was understandable only to Pinkie, of course, but was directed to the whole room.
"I think that's a yes?" Tambrey sounded delighted and a bit excited as she found herself allowed to pet Octavia suddenly, looking back at Rory with her own grin on her face. "Looklook, she's /letting me pet her/..." Maybe more than 'a bit' excited. "She's /warm/." As though she'd been expecting something else from the fire type. Her other hand was offered to Pinkie to give a petting of thanks. The print-out whirred again and cut off, dropping the finished report into an 'out' tray. Perhaps some of the answers to Rory's questions might have been on that, though Tambrey hadn't even thought of them yet herself; she was still a bit wrapped up with the 'baby' Ponyta in front of her.

<< Running...>> Octavia repeated, after stepping back from Rory's hand. He was nice; she'd thought the humans would be nice, back when she could hear them in her tank. She turned her head to look at Pinkie, looking fascinated and excited. <> Her voice was a little snorty and squeaky, all happy and excitement-laden. Everything was new, and Pinkie had sounded a little excited too, which had only encouraged her. All four hooves stomped a little bit in a tiny, happy, dance, though Octavia probably didn't even realise it.
Tambrey stood back, smiling as she watched Rory and Octavia interact, and smiling at Pinkie as it really did seem like she was being a lot of help; just as they'd suspected. Then Octavia seemed to be... getting a little more active. Was this behaviour normal? What was happening? "Uh. Uh. What's she doing? Does she want something? She's not going to set something on fire is she?" Tambrey asked warily.

<> Octavia took a glance around as well, when Pinkie did, halting her 'happy dance' for the moment. Well. Here was bigger than the tank and not full of slushy stuff... Slushy stuff didn't seem to be 'normal' though anyway; she could /feel/ it wasn't supposed to be. This 'air'; that /felt/ 'normal', if... 'too close'. So, 'outside' was 'bigger'. She didn't know what 'sand' was yet but if Pinkie liked it then she was sure she would... <> Octavia insisted, stomping her hooves in the 'dance' again, her flames flickering up warmly.
"Oh, that's a relief." Tambrey still looked a little bit worried, after all, it /already/ kind of looked like the pony pokémon were 'a little bit on fire'. She blinked then. "I ramble?" The grunt frowned a little, considering it, then shrugged, supposing that yes, she did, and probably had even commented on it herself more than once. Rory hadn't spoken like he was bothered by it though; that felt... like a good thing. She found herself happy about that, at least, even if self conscious, slightly, that she did such a thing. "Oh. Um." Hrm. Octavia was doing even more of the 'trotting dance' thing. "Yes... That sounds like a very good idea." The labs were likely not the best place for excited fire types.
