It was happening! All the hard work that they had put in had officially paid off as the timer hit zero on the counter and the capsule began to release its contents.

Rory smiled as the pokemon was revealed to them. He looked over at Tambrey and Pinkie to gauge their reactions.

Pinkie was curious as the thing in front of her made noise and opened and all of a sudden there was another one like her standing there in front of them. She approached the Ponyta with a bit of curiosity.

Tambrey didn't look like she was sure what to do at all. All that time waiting for this and a brand new life was suddenly emerging from the pod
She smiled, blinked, frowned, took a step forward, then thought better of it and checked they had a pokéball ready. She stopped and watched as Pinkie approached the other ponyta.
Octavia nickered at them and Tambrey blinked again and then held up a hand, finding herself waving at the little pony.
"Uh. Hi."

The machine sprayed something powdery, perhaps to clean Octavia as she emerged, though her own flames would take on some of that work. It didn't seem to hurt her. A printer rattled out data before finally falling silent and leaving just the, unsteady-on-her-legs, ponyta moving or making noise from the machine.

Octavia wobbled as she took a few steps forward; her eyes had developed in growth and though she'd been mostly used to the dimness of her tank, it was not too difficult for them to gradually focus and grow used to the lab light.
She saw the two humans that she'd seen coming and going and messing with her machine- she didn't know they were 'humans' of course, but she understood they were different to her. She also understood that they were the first and only beings she had seen when she first became aware, and so her first nicker- a somewhat musical noise that was just a noise and no sense to human or pokémon- was directed toward them.
She tilted her head at the reaction, blinked sleepily, and turned her attention to Pinkie, letting out a snort of greeting. Octavia wasn't sure why- these weren't words at all- but felt confident that this was the 'correct' sound to address her 'sister' (a term the long-haired human, in human talk, had used).

Rory wasn't too sure of what he should do now so he continued to make small notes before going over to the printer to retrieve the print out of the data. This would be bonding time for the new pokemon and her trainer. He couldn't help the slightly proud smile on his face as he watched the grey ponyta try to stabilize herself on her legs.

Pinkie cocked her head to the side and looked at the other ponyta curiously. She timidly returned the greeting, still not entirely sure of what was going on. She took a couple steps towards Octavia, enough to get close enough to her to sniff at her.

Oh good. That was right.
The new Ponyta hadn't been sure at all.
Octavia seemed fine with being sniffed at, at least, but another step forward caused a small problem for her.
She squeaked in alarm as she wobbled and side-stepped unexpectedly, -nearly- falling over but managing to stabilise herself.
Her mind, developed, sought out the information she needed... Something instinctual that manifested itself from her mouth.
<< Me... Legs... No... Happy. >>
That... did not seem quite right. Octavia whinnied, looked concerned, hoping Pinkie understood, while her mind stubbornly whirred, looking for a better combination of the sounds hidden within it.

Tambrey started forward as Octavia nearly fell over, but held herself back as the Ponyta managed to get her legs under control.
"Um... Pinkie. Octavia's completely new so... We don't know what she knows and what she understands.. So. If she doesn't understand this," Tambrey addressed the pink Ponyta, moving to stand closer to both "could you explain a little?"
She then addressed the grey mare. "Hi. I'm Tambrey... Rory and I," she indicated Rory with her hand and by looking back at him "made you from a part of Pinkie. You're sisters... um, kind of... and... Rory is Pinkie's trainer... I am going to be your trainer. If.. that's okay." If that's okay? Octavia was a Ponyta and young enough to believe anything... Apparently though, she needed permission from her? Tambrey mentally sighed at herself.

Octavia, meanwhile, looked from Rory, to Tambrey, and back at Pinkie. Her expression did look quizzical; she'd half understood some of that, but Pinkie, she believed, would make more sense.

Pinkie felt her breath catch when the other Ponyta stumbled slightly. She relaxed when the fire horse managed to keep herself on her hooves. It wasn't fun falling like that; the pink Ponyta knew that all too well.

she told the other pokemon as she looked to see what the two trainers were doing. She noticed that Rory was looking their way with a worried expression on his face. He must have heard the noises the other Ponyta- they called her Octavia, right?- made as she stumbled.

She noticed that, unlike Rory, Tambrey had come closer to them when she heard the distressing noises. Pinkie paid attention when she was spoken to and nodded to the female Rocket. When Octavia looked at her confused, Pinkie spoke up, she tossed her head in Rory's direction,

Once he had finished writing down what he needed to and made sure all of the information was attached to the clipboard to go into the file folder, Rory finally made his way over to the two pokemon and his friend. The Ponyta had him slightly curious but slightly worried. Why had she made the loud squeal? Was she having trouble walking? He tried to convince himself that it was just because she was newly 'hatched' in a way and getting used to her legs. That seemed to calm the nagging voice in the back of his head except it brought forth another question.

Why was she grey?! He tried to figure out how in the world his bright pink Ponyta and the natural colored Rapidash DNA managed to make a grey pokemon but nothing he could come up with made any sense.

He tried to block out the dangerous thoughts as he listened to Tambrey speak to the pokemon. Her asking nicely if she could be Octavia's trainer brought a small grin to his face.

<>
The grey Ponyta frowned for a moment, concentrating and then brightening up as she discovered that walking was what let her move. Moving. Moving was fun. Something in her was telling her that 'moving' was something she needed to know more about.
She seemed to be getting the hang of using words the more she heard the other Ponyta speak.
<> She looked at Tambrey, then actually at Rory. <>
So. These humans were 'Rory'. Perhaps that made sense. She knew that she and Pinkie were the same thing- it was in their voices even- she somehow 'knew'.
<> She stomped her hoof <> So. Where did 'Tambrey' fit into all that. Oh. Wait, she knew!
<> She found her name and then looked at Tambrey. <>
Octavia moved forward, suddenly affectionately, aiming a nuzzle at the older Ponyta.
<> She nodded, and then was aware of Tambrey tentatively reaching a hand out to stroke her nose. That seemed acceptable; it felt nice. <> The plea was understandable only to Pinkie, of course, but was directed to the whole room.

"I think that's a yes?" Tambrey sounded delighted and a bit excited as she found herself allowed to pet Octavia suddenly, looking back at Rory with her own grin on her face.
"Looklook, she's /letting me pet her/..." Maybe more than 'a bit' excited. "She's /warm/." As though she'd been expecting something else from the fire type.
Her other hand was offered to Pinkie to give a petting of thanks.
The print-out whirred again and cut off, dropping the finished report into an 'out' tray. Perhaps some of the answers to Rory's questions might have been on that, though Tambrey hadn't even thought of them yet herself; she was still a bit wrapped up with the 'baby' Ponyta in front of her.

Pinkie told the other Ponyta as watched her take in the room around them.

When Octavia rattled off the words that she had learned, the pink horse grinned. she tossed her head in Rory and Tambrey's direction Pinkie rambled on excitedly as returned the affectionate nuzzle.

Sister? Was that like 'brother'? She vaguely remembered Rory mentioning that the tiny mouse and the lizard were supposed to be her brothers; she hoped that a sister would be different from them. Hopefully she wouldn't have to share her new sister...well with the boys anyway.

Rory's grin widened when Octavia stepped closer and let Tambrey pet her. "I think it is," he replied, "though we might want to save the 'ball until she's gotten a bit more used to her legs."

He decided to ignore the whirring of the printer; he would get the information later. Instead he focused on the three in front of him. "Well she is a fire horse," he chuckled, "didn't think she'd be cold, did you?" he asked in jest.

He tentatively held out his own hand, palm up, to the new Ponyta.

<< I want... I want walking. Faster.>> Octavia tried to express the desire she felt in the words she'd cobbled together so far. <>
She nodded, showing she understood as Pinkie pointed out and explained how names worked.
She was very pleased, and let out a huffy snort to let that be known, to hear that they were going to teach her more things.
Learning was proving fun. Noises as well. She liked the noises she heard herself make and the steps from her hooves.

The one thing she suspected might be more fun was to go faster than walking. There was some natural urge there.
<> She'd heard that word before- she knew- in human tongue though, back while she was still in the warm liquid of the tank.

Tambrey looked back- she'd left the ball on the side where she'd been standing before- and nodded. She'd leave it there for now then.
"That sounds like a good idea," She smirked, halting her own petting to see how Octavia reacted to Rory. "I don't know- I knew that but I just... Kind o' forgot. I've never had a fire type."

Octavia tilted her head and then pushed her nose, with a snort, against Rory's palm. Out of the tank was proving to be very nice.

Pinkie explained Hopefully Rory and Tambrey would finish whatever they were doing and would take them outside soon. Pinkie could feel herself nearly shaking with excitement at the thought of running with her new 'sister'.

Pinkie smiled and trotted slight in place when Octavia mentioned she was happy.

When Octavia pushed her nose against Rory's palm, he couldn't help the proud grin that formed as he softly petted her. "Hey beautiful," he said quietly before looking back at Tambrey, "It's okay," he winked at her, "You'll get used to it soon."

<< Running...>> Octavia repeated, after stepping back from Rory's hand. He was nice; she'd thought the humans would be nice, back when she could hear them in her tank. She turned her head to look at Pinkie, looking fascinated and excited.
<> Her voice was a little snorty and squeaky, all happy and excitement-laden. Everything was new, and Pinkie had sounded a little excited too, which had only encouraged her. All four hooves stomped a little bit in a tiny, happy, dance, though Octavia probably didn't even realise it.

Tambrey stood back, smiling as she watched Rory and Octavia interact, and smiling at Pinkie as it really did seem like she was being a lot of help; just as they'd suspected.
Then Octavia seemed to be... getting a little more active.
Was this behaviour normal? What was happening?
"Uh. Uh. What's she doing? Does she want something? She's not going to set something on fire is she?" Tambrey asked warily.

Pinkie stated and looked at the Ponyta curiously. She didn't know what the outside was? Then again she had just seen the Ponyta come from the tank thingie. Pinkie tossed a small glare at all the equipment around them.

As Octavia stepped back away from him, Rory stood back up and wiped his hands on his jeans. He watched the pair and continued grinning as he watched the 'newborn' start to get excited over something.

When he heard Tambrey's questions he laughed and shook his head. "Nah, not this time," he told her, "she's getting excited about something. That," he nodded to the grey horse, "is sort of her version of expressing it. Like how you ramble, she trots in place."

He put a hand on her shoulder and gave it a gentle squeeze. "We should probably consider moving them soon though. Cramped spaces and Ponytas don't go together too well for too long."

<> Octavia took a glance around as well, when Pinkie did, halting her 'happy dance' for the moment. Well. Here was bigger than the tank and not full of slushy stuff... Slushy stuff didn't seem to be 'normal' though anyway; she could /feel/ it wasn't supposed to be. This 'air'; that /felt/ 'normal', if... 'too close'. So, 'outside' was 'bigger'. She didn't know what 'sand' was yet but if Pinkie liked it then she was sure she would...
<> Octavia insisted, stomping her hooves in the 'dance' again, her flames flickering up warmly.

"Oh, that's a relief." Tambrey still looked a little bit worried, after all, it /already/ kind of looked like the pony pokémon were 'a little bit on fire'. She blinked then.
"I ramble?" The grunt frowned a little, considering it, then shrugged, supposing that yes, she did, and probably had even commented on it herself more than once.
Rory hadn't spoken like he was bothered by it though; that felt... like a good thing. She found herself happy about that, at least, even if self conscious, slightly, that she did such a thing.
"Oh. Um." Hrm. Octavia was doing even more of the 'trotting dance' thing. "Yes... That sounds like a very good idea." The labs were likely not the best place for excited fire types.

Pinkie grinned at Octavia's response though she wasn't sure exactly how to explain what 'outside' was to the other pokemon. she replied, excited by the idea.

Rory continued watching the pokemon interact, thankful that Octavia hadn't gotten too excited yet. "You do sometimes, mostly when you get nervous," he answered as he ducked his head just a bit. When she agreed that they should see about moving the pokemon, Rory whistled to Pinkie to call her over to him. He held her pokeball in his hand and spoke softly, "Let her know that Tambrey's going to put her in her ball so we can take her outside."

Tambrey watched Rory for a few moments; a slightly thoughtful expression with a puzzled brow giving way, though, to the fact that she found herself... impressed. She supposed that was the best fit for it.
She was impressed that he'd noticed such a detail enough to bring it up.

As Rory called over to Pinkie and explained to her, Tambrey shook her head slightly to refocus on what she was supposed to be focusing on.
Octavia was brand new; they were supposed to be teaching her and getting her used to the world.
As Rory showed Pinkie her pokéball, Tambrey went and retrieved Octavia's, soon-to-be, from the side, before holding it up for the grey Ponyta to see.

Octavia paused her dance long enough to be curious about things.
<> She was getting the hang of arranging her words slowly. <> Slowly.

When Rory explained to Pinkie what he and Tambrey were wanting to do, she nodded to him and nuzzled his hand before going back to Octavia's side.

Pinkie trotted happily. she tossed her head in the direction of her trainer.
