Personalities: Finn:Mostly a loner: Since he moved out on his own, Finn really hadn't been much for socializing outside of work. He liked to keep to himself, play video games, watch movies, read, and maybe have a drink or two. Sure he has had a few work buddies, guys that he generally got along with better than others, that he didn't believe to be complete morons, and who he felt viewed the world in much the same way he did. When days off hit, though, he'd opted spend most of that time alone. This isn't to say he didn't have the occasional social gathering. A BBQ, a night out at the strip club. an invitation to a house party, poker night, etc. It just didn't happen all that often. (As a note, none of this applies to his romantic relationships, this only applies to his "friends")
Pessimistic: While he doesn't necessarily believe that all things end badly, he does feel this way more often than not. Just bought a used truck? Chances are it will break down within the first week of purchase and cost thousands of dollars in repairs. He'll buy new and pay extra for that warranty, if it's all the same to you. Thinking about taking out a mortgage on a new house? Better get insurance, and make sure to get an inspection, because if you don't you know what's going to happen....
Really all this means is that Finn is a little more extra careful with his decision making, because he can't help but think of the worst case scenario. He's just not big on acting first and thinking later. Small, practically meaningless risks? Sure. Big, life changing risks? He'll have to think about that a little bit first.
Charismatic: Always the charmer, Finn had always fancied himself a bit of a ladies man. He could always strike up a conversation, turn on the smolder, and get the results that he wanted nearly every time. Smooth talking was key. Then get this girl a drink, woo her on the dance floor with his killer moves, enthrall her with stories and once he had her under his spell....
......Treat her mean to keep her keen.
Manipulative a**. Two words that Finn has heard many,
many times in his life. To say that he's been a bit horrible when it comes to the opposite sex would likely be an understatement. Snide accusations, passive aggressive comments and insults, and the ability to turn on the charm when it was needed to smooth things back over could be a deadly combination when executed in the right way, and Finn knew all the tricks in the book. It had to be the right type of girl, though. The one that believed he didn't mean it when he said something cruel, the one that when he pushed, she complied, the ones that thought that they could be the one to "change" him. Considering these traits, it's not even all that surprising that more often then not, even after all of his callous tactics, it was him that would put an end to the relationship. He was the one that was going to be in control, right up to the bitter end.
Asstitude: Yes, ladies and gentlemen, here it is. Finn Connor has asstitude. Even in it's slightly more subtle state, like when he's trying to pull a woman, it's still present.
And he just doesn't care. In fact, you might even say he loves it. He doesn't tolerate idiots and he doesn't shy away from telling people just what he thinks about them. He's not out to make best friends with anyone. He doesn't care about anybody except himself. He won't even pretend to care. He doesn't apologize for his actions. He doesn't cry when things get tough. Most importantly, he will never, ever to blame for anything. It was always some other idiots fault.
Sorry---or rather, not sorry--He just doesn't give a s**t.
Trynt: Aggressive, vicious, and out for blood. He will likely urge Finn to go act first and think later, and try to break him out of his habit of doing just the opposite. He is demanding, and when he want's Finn's full attention, he will not shut up until he gets it. He is also very overprotective and possessive.
Why did your human character choose to become a Hunter? Finn's point of view on life became slightly skewed when his adoptive father passed away of a heart attack when he was 14 years old, leaving he and his adoptive mother in a perpetual state of "What's Next?" And "Where do we go from here?". His mother never fully recovered from her loss, and after that seemed to just make one bad decision after another, making excuses for her incompetence, and slowly driving a wedge between herself and Finn, who as soon as he was able to, moved out to live on his own, and never looked back.
It was around the time of his fathers death that Finn had really begun really to notice the shadows that nobody else seemed to see, and to feel the cold chill in the air that nobody else seemed to feel. As a child, these things also used to happen, but it was not often, and with a short attention span were soon forgotten about within days of the occurrence. As he got older, however, he took more notice in them, especially since at the time of his dad's death he could have sworn he had seen something. Something dark had been present. Something dangerous and unwholesome. Something over time he would learn to hate.
He was never quite sure what it was that he was seeing, only that they made him uncomfortable, sometimes a little bit scared, and often seemed to be followed by something eerie or negative happening. He often wondered if it was just all in his head, if he was maybe sick and needed to be analyzed by a doctor.....
When he was approached about the things that he could see, and told about Deus, he wanted to scoff at them at first, and tell them to ******** off. But they just had a way of talking to him, of convincing him that what he was seeing was real, that he wasn't crazy, and that there was something he could do about it.
It took him some time to think it over, but Finn eventually agreed. He was currently no longer on speaking terms with his mother, and his last relationship had ended badly (as they always did) just weeks before. If he had any reason to care that he was leaving the world as he knew it behind, he never let it show.
He was going to join these so called "Hunters." He was going to take a big risk, and hope that it didn't end badly.
Weapon Ability Cyclonic Shield (Barrier Mechanics): When the charge activates, the lance is spun rapidly, either by hand or by being tossed up into the air, until a miniature cyclone forms, which is used to repel attacks for a brief period of time before dispersing. The cyclone itself can form either around Finn himself or can be sent towards another target.
