Quick rundown on some FR advice:
Feed your dragons every day. If possible, keep them at full feeding as often as possible. It's actually not too hard, and it gives you long run bonuses, like extra gathering turns, gems, treasure, and an EXP boost.
Spend your first bits of treasure on familiars if you don't get them in coliseum or the free pile in the trading post area. Assigned familiars give an increasing amount of treasure every day that you press their heart button.
Do not forget to incubate your eggs.
Treasure to gems is about 100 to 1.
The trading post has the free pile and two places you can trade stuff to get other stuff, so go there right after gathering.
There is a Light festival happening right now, so do your gathering in Light areas. This gets you Immaculate Tablets which act as a currency in Festive Favors.
Scavenging gives a slight chance of finding wild dragon eggs.
DO NOT FORGET TO INCUBATE YOUR EGGS.

The breeding mechanics on the site are pretty interesting; if you want a better idea of how they work/an idea of what babies might look like, allow me to sum it up!
You know how your dragon lists Primary, Secondary, Tertiary colors? (Primary = body, Secondary = wings, Tertiary = the color of markings if you apply a marking gene) Well, there's a specific color wheel the site uses for breeding, and the colors of the offspring will fall within the parameters of whatever the parents are; ie if you have dragons with Primary Purple and Primary Carribean, the primary of the offspring will fall under the SHORTEST distance between those two (so, in the blues and purples!) Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary are all handled separately too, so if the parents Secondary was Banana and Magenta, the babies Secondary would fall between the yellow/orange/brown/red range range. :> *hopes that helps, if anybody was curious!*
