[FIN] Just a few questions

Alder couldn't help but dwell on the blonde girl's concerns and almost desperate pleas for her friend, Luke, and thus when he saw her safely off in an ambulance, he'd departed at once for the police station.

Luke had been escorted out and brought in separately, and placed in one of their small questioning rooms - which was scarcely furnished with two chairs and a table set between them. He would be required to wait several minutes before Alder opened the door and stepped inside, then paused at the door as his purple eyes briefly scanned the young trainer. Then he smiled as he moved to sit in the empty chair. "I assume you know you're not under arrest, correct? That they just brought you here to answer some questions and ascertain your status." They should have, of course, but he wanted to make sure that Luke knew where he stood.

Luke's visual signals were often quite telling, and with his tense posture and severe expression, it wasn't difficult to tell that the disaster in the conference room had left him in an abysmal mood. Having Rosie removed from his direct line of sight at a time when all he wanted was to be certain of her condition wasn't helping that, but he somehow managed to speak in a level voice, "Honestly it wouldn't be much more than a hassle if I was arrested," - it wouldn't take much effort to find the evidence to refute his connection with Team Rocket - "but I appreciate having the benefit of the doubt."

The older man nodded once as he folded his arms on the table. The younger redhead certainly seemed that his innocence was assured, and Alder was inclined to believe him - the people who were accused of being Rockets had fought back, some as hard as they could, but this one had not. "In that case, if you don't mind, I'm going to be the one doing the questioning." Without waiting much, if at all, to see if this was indeed alright, the man continued. "What is your full name?"

He bit back feelings of impatience and nodded, though the request for his full name caused his thoughts to stumble slightly. "Lucien fon Fabre," he replied, "but I'm registered as and go by Luke."

Alder nodded again. "Your friend mentioned that you're from Grande Ile. When did you move here, and how long have you been a trainer?"

These questions required even further thought, and his gaze lowered to better search his memories. "Late March… or more like early April, two years ago. My residency started in June the following year, though. When I became a trainer…" He had registered after the contest in Sandalwood and before going on the trip to Hoenn, so that was… "…summer, year before last? Late summer, I think."

"Hmm.. So you've been here a while now." Again he nodded, arms still folded atop the table as he watched Luke with keen interest. "What brought you to the convention today?"

"The panel," he responded readily. "Rosie, myself, and other friends of ours have been fighting Team Rocket at least as long as I've been on this island. We've been attacked and had pokemon stolen, we've had our lives thrown into total disarray, and we've done everything in our power to fight back. I came because I wanted to hear the League's perspective on things - especially after the malicious attack in Kanto."

Yet another nod. "And you know the pictures in the panel were of confirmed Rockets, yes? I'd like you to explain why your picture was shown, if you can."

He breathed a silent sigh, not sure how well the 'evil twin brother' card would go over. "That picture was of my brother. He went by Asch." His hands on the table clenched lightly, a slight strain encroaching upon his features and words, "He's… You don't have to look out for him anymore. He passed away last winter."

Rather than dismiss Luke's words as a pitiful excuse, he instead hummed thoughtfully for a moment, then asked, "He went by Asch - what was his full name?" He refrained from commenting on his death, mostly due to the fact that he wasn't yet sure if this dead relative had actually existed or not.

His damned parents just had to go and make things look really suspicious for him. Unfortunately, the only way to answer was truthfully, "Luke fon Fabre."

Alder couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at that. "So your name is Lucien but your nickname is Luke - but his name is Luke and his nickname is - was - Asch?" Seriously?

He gave a curt nod in reply. "It's… a long and complicated story involving amnesia and bad parenting. I don't mind telling it if you want an explanation, but I have a feeling it'll sound like an unnecessarily elaborate lie…"

A vaguely amused smile formed on his face. "Alright, I'll believe you on that for now. So Asch was your brother - twin brother? He was in Team Rocket then?"
