The air was warm and thick, humming with the tightly controlled energy that tended to precede a storm. There was no wind and the swamp was unnaturally quiet. The cicadas and birds had fallen silent, barely a rustle in the trees to indicate that life still existed in this area. Contrary to the general atmosphere that pervaded the air, the sky was bright blue with barely a cloud in the sky. If Darkening Skies could have seen through trees to squint at the distant horizon, she might have been able to catch sight of the clouds looming in the distance that gave her her name. Instead, all she could see was sunlight filtering past mangrove leaves, high above her head and casting long shadows across the ground.
Moving with smooth, quiet steps, Storm moved away from the tree that she had been standing by; there was a contained sort of energy that seemed to be built to just short of its peak right under her pelt. She barely disturbed the air as she wound her way between mangrove trees, walking without aim. The day was young, barely started, and a storm was coming.
Minsuil Ah- Sorry for the delay! And a very short intro...

Her ears had picked up his approach, the slide and crush of underbrush, unmistakably the approach of another kin. She didn't turn though, continuing her walking, drawn, as always, to get closer and closer to storms as they arrived on the swamp. But when the other kin, a buck, spoke, she stopped and turned her head in a slow sweep to meet his eye. She tilted her head at his command, considering it with the same crackling, quiet, gathering deliberation that drew storm clouds together.
She quirked a dark, lightning fast smile before turning her head back around to face the storm. She considered the pure, dappling sunlight for a moment, in what might be considered ignorance of storms and rain, before speaking. Her voice was low, a touch of brooding like distant thunder, "I know. It's going to storm; the rain, lighting, and thunder, it clings to the air. It tastes like fire."
She looked at him over her shoulder, gold eyes meeting his, "Don't worry about me. I will be fine."
Minsuil Ah! Don't worry about it~ ♥ I hope other than the spotty internet, your visit is going well!

The smile that flashed across her lips was so quick, he might had missed it if he were anyone else. But Hawkflight was a hunter. And hunters knew to catch every movement, however slight. He narrowed his eyes - unsure if she was impudent or a bit odd in the head.
Whatever her affliction, it was none of his business. He turned to leave, but just then, the first crack of thunder, followed swiftly by rain, split the sky. The downpour was as heavy as the air had been, more even. Rain slammed against the offending leaves between it and the ground. Inundated with so much water so quickly, the ground he stood on quickly became muddy. The nearby tree offered protection, but the winds whipped the rain everywhere so that his fur still dripped.
Hawkflight frowned. There was no avoiding the rain, or the doe now, that was for sure.
