AMITYVILLE ACADEMY ENROLLMENT FORM

Name: Sadie
Nicknames: ---
Gender: Female
Age: 16

Faction: Reaper
Race: Umbra Witch - a strictly female clan of European dark art practitioners from ancient times affiliated with inferno, darkness, and the moon. Many weapon arts are known among the clan and favored for channeling magic. (http://bayonetta.wikia.com/wiki/Antonio's_Notebook)

Weapon: THE M202 FEAR (******** Everything Around Royally) [M202 FLASH] ROCKET LAUNCHER! EXPLOSIONS!
At this point it just feels like getting hit with a bean bag as spoopy sparkles and smoke explode out of the ammunition.

Natural Ability: Witch Walk - Whenever the moon casts its glow on an Umbra Witch, she is given the ability to walk side-ways and upside-down on walls. Moonlight is fickle and is said to have caused countless accidents during training...

[!] An Umbra Witch's clothes are made from their hair magically extending and shaping to various clothing at the witch's will, even changing colors. Is this required as a natural ability or just a run of the mill racial ability like sea creatures breathing under water? If it's a natural ability I don't know the levels of weird it's gonna be if natural abilities suddenly get shut down, but I understand if it's a feature that is just a flat out no too. I just thought it would be an interesting quirk with the race to utilize appropriately for flavor.

Personality: Sadie is an energetic and curious nosy extrovert who can easily start to get on someone's nerves. She's got a lack of self-control and an edge for rebellious risk taking (to the dismay of her sisterhood). Since you're only chosen to be taught the way of the Umbra Witch if you've got the natural spark, she thinks she's got this in the bag and doesn't take much seriously.

If she does catch flack for her bad habits, she's quick to play victim. Sadie doesn't like being nagged and may even become mad or annoyed herself, regardless of good intentions. Needless to say she's pretty immature.

For fun, the gal likes mischievous exploring and getting into people's business. She's supposed to be making her way into networking with demons, but it's on the back burner. She's just a snot after all! Sure, socializing is fun, but she's not focused on anything yet and just scoping the scene. She much rather mess around and eat those oh so delicious and addicting lollipops her sisters send. She's always got them somewhere on her person and snacks on them frequently.

Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? Why does your character want to come to Amityville as a student? Gaining knowledge and developing herself to the academy's basic standards of learning means Sadie may return to her sisterhood of Umbra Witches and take the 'Witchly Vows' , making her a fully progressed Umbra Witch; however, her supposed (aka instructed by ruler of the Umbra throne) purpose is to find a suitable demon at the academy to extend the line of mutual magic ties by the clan. What she'd do with that, she doesn't know yet and isn't much concerned with it at this point in time.

FEAR Ability: [The Battle Cry] Using her hair as a medium, Sadie channels her FEAR to manipulate her hair, extending it to wild lengths and surrounding her M202 FEAR, turning it into a single-rocket-boosted-explosive-launcher-hooplah-dinger-donger. Her M202 FEAR looks like a fancy black bazooka at this point with the muzzle resembling the head of Fluffy Buns (her pet Poms! Seraph), glowing eyes and all, for personal aesthetics, though controlling her hair means she could really make the muzzle look like whatever she wanted. It really still just feels like getting hit with a bean bag as spoopy sparkles and smoke explode out of the ammunition.

Using her hair ('wicked weave' is the name for it among the umbra witches) is only used as the final FEAR attack while her reaper weapon is the default basic attack.

Physical Description:

Sadie appears as a typical teenage ghoul at 5'4". Since her hair is an important part of her race & FEAR, that is her #1 priority in terms of keeping it lookin' good. Her pigtails are soft & flimsy and often she swirls and plays with them because they're so long. Sadie's style reflects her fun-loving personality and affection for things both cute and spooky, while still allowing her to get in (and out of) trouble.

Eye Colour: Purple
Hair Colour/Style: Black / Long Pigtails
Skin Colour: As pale as a skeleton's boney butt.
Clothing Style/Colours: Some sort of Halloween twist to a romper would be awesome. What is a romper? A one piece like this is. I'm pretty darn ok with free rein on the outfit & colors as long as there is some fleck of her hair color appearing as homage to her hair actually making up the outfit and all (if that trait gets approved).
Extra:
+ Reaper Weapon: Appears more magical and Halloween inspired that your average M202 Flash Rocket Launcher. They're pretty simple and not elaborate yet though; she is a Y1 after all. (Design Inspirations)
+ Hair-Collar Fusion: An Umbra witch's hair makes up their clothing by shifting to whatever they desire, even changing colors to make up patterns, etc. (EXAMPLE) This means their clothes always have some of their hair coming down and fusing into their collar. * If this trait gets approved.
+ Lollipops in a pocket would be great. You could redesign them with a Halloween twist or just base them off the in-game Lollipops.

Reference: I'm a dingus and I can't draw but here's something to give you an idea.

AMITYVILLE ACADEMY ENROLLMENT FORM

Name: Scarlett
Nicknames: ---
Gender: Female
Age: 16

Faction: Reaper
Race: Umbra Witch - a strictly female clan of European dark art practitioners from ancient times affiliated with inferno, darkness, and the moon. Traditionally these witches make pacts with demons in order to gain power at the price of eternal servitude. (http://bayonetta.wikia.com/wiki/Antonio's_Notebook)

Weapon: Scarlett has four guns, which is her entire ability to have a weapon divided into four identical guns. Their places are one on each heel and one in each hand. Currently she's too poorly trained to even properly balance herself and use the ones on her heels. You don't want to be around if she even tries. This mean sometimes she won't even summon those two.

Um.. um.. if it's a natural ability I don't know the levels of weird it's gonna be if natural abilities suddenly get shut down.

Personality: Scarlett is an energetic and curious nosy extrovert who can easily start to get on someone's nerves.

Scarlett doesn't like being nagged and may even become mad or annoyed herself, regardless of good intentions.

She much rather mess around eat those oh so delicious and addicting lollipops her sisters send. She's always got them somewhere on her person and snacks on them frequently.

Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? Why does your character want to come to Amityville as a student? Gaining knowledge and developing herself to the academy's basic standards of learning means Scarlett may return to her sisterhood of Umbra Witches and take the 'Witchly Vows' , making her a fully progressed Umbra Witch; however, her biggest personal goal is to find a suitable demon at the academy to sponsor her, ultimately raising her individual power. For what exactly, she doesn't know yet.. but she's sure she can find something to do with feeling awesome.

What does being sponsored by a demon mean for an Umbra witch? Umbra witches form pacts (contracts, bonds, etc.) with demons to gain power (origin of this in their history is to gain aid in hunting angels); however, this power comes at a price. "Upon a witch's death, she is forced to fulfill the contract, and her soul is dragged down to Inferno." Adapting to the setting because 'souls' are very different in H.Town, I imagine Umbra Witches become bound to eternal servitude/vouchers or the promise of an unconditional favor or job task.

FEAR Ability: [The Battle Cry] Using her hair as a medium, Scarlett channels her FEAR to manipulate her hair, extending it to wild lengths and into an attack (wrapping onto an opponent's leg and flipping/tripping them onto the ground).

If she ever binds herself to a demon or demons, the hair will shape to a cosmetic appearance relating somehow to the demon(s). For example, if the demon she's created a pact with is strongly affiliated with serpents, her FEAR can shape her hair into a serpent's head to bite an enemy (detail varying with year). This symbolizes the contract and power gained from it for flavor, but does not mean she is now extra strong in any way. This isn't really planned to happen until at least a year later.

Using her hair ('wicked weave' is the name for it among the umbra witches) is only used as a FEAR attack while her reaper weapons are the default.

Physical Description:

Scarlett appears as a typical 15 year old girl at 5'4". Since her hair is an important part of her race & FEAR, that is her #1 priority in terms of keeping it lookin' good. Her long pigtails are soft and flimsy. Often she swirls and plays with them because they're so long.

Eye Colour: Orange
Hair Colour/Style: Black / Long Pigtails
Skin Colour: As pale as a skeleton's boney butt.
Clothing Style/Colours: Some sort of Halloween twist to women's short jumpsuits (another example) would be awesome. I'm pretty darn ok with free rein on the outfit & colors as long as there is some fleck of her hair color appearing as homage to her hair actually making up the outfit and all.
Extra:
- As a Reaper, she's gotta have her weapons. One gun in each hand and one on each heel. (example) They're pretty simple and not elaborate yet, she is a Year 1 after all. (umbra weapon concept art inspiration idek) Just a solid black color with a small simple orange curl or design on the side.
- An Umbra witch's hair makes up their clothing by shifting to whatever they desire, even changing colors to make up patterns, etc. (examples) This means their clothes always have some of their hair coming down and fusing into their collar. You can kind of see it here in the collar.
- Lollipops in a pocket would be swiggity sweet. Design them however you want.

References: I'm a dingus and I can't draw but here's sort of an idea on what she looks like.

Adaptation of the Umbra Witch into Halloween Town

__(Ah, yes! The Umbra Witch is indeed a type of witch from the game Bayonetta. They are capable of using an array of weapons as well as some magic and so I thought it would be a great idea for a Reaper, especially with their interesting ties to demons and what plots could emerge from such. Here I will be adapting the Umbra Witch to the shop's world of Halloween and hopefully successfully introduce a new subclass. A lot of the information will be from the wiki. )

____[The Umbra Witches] Umbra Witches are a strictly female clan of European dark art practitioners from ancient times affiliated with inferno, darkness, and the moon. A witch is chosen and trained in their ways only if a natural spark is seen in the pupil. There are kin produced straight from an Umbra witch themselves whom do not have the gift and others who catch on quickly. "Those with the power could become witches despite being of low birth, and those without power would be forced into secular life, regardless of any blood ties to a witch clan."
They are quite fond of weapons as tools of the magic trade with a large array of types known throughout their kind. An easy giveaway of being Umbra is their ability to manipulate their hair into various forms and colors, many witches using it to simply clothe themselves.

____[Origin] Before modern days, the Umbra Witches both fell and arose during the time of the witch hunts. As they were hunted and cast into deep hiding from the human world, they recollected themselves in Halloween Town just as other witches had at the time. The fear of them which had spurred witch hunts simply produced more witches and the clan had found themselves settling nicely into the vast world of Halloween. How the sisterhood exactly gained momentum into what they are today is forgotten and only familiar to leaders of the throne, but their first settlement into ruins of what one could only guess was a temple has been cozy enough to disregard questions. Throughout time it has been developed and rebuilt into a suitable residence.

____[Occupations] The Umbra witch clan are not ones to take prestige lightly and seek to produce only the finest witches. Many go on to reap souls, a job typically for well developed witches. Harnessing one's magic is also a priority of the clan and throughout that goal, many witches dabble with demons. Few tend to resist their extravagant status and wealth... or perhaps it is their magic, yeah..
Halloween Town was a place of opportunity for the witches and while expectations and tradition exist, there are a handful of umbra that don't mingle with demons and stray from soul reaping. This is frowned upon in the sisterhood, but what the Umbra witches know too well is what time does to all things is change them. The less disapproved career tends to be alchemy and medicines, an old favorite but expensive hobby of the witches. Another staple of the umbra witches are their lollipops, a product of their alchemy. What's in them? Well, that's a secret.

____[Umbra Witches & Demons] Demons are not an unfamiliar group to the Umbra Witches. Traditionally, Umbra Witches have worked with demons within their attraction to magical attributes; however, this can be very dangerous and gone about carefully among the more clever or ill-meaning ones. Due to difficult relations, some witches decide not to dabble at all. No one is really sure if the witches who do dabble in work with demons even enjoy it..
A strange phenomenon occurs among witches in a more stable relation with a demon. An outsider would see it as either a byproduct of the magical connection or a controlled strut of their status with the partner in question, but some witches flaunt their magic with an extra flare by focusing on attributes of their partner. (ex: a witch partnered with an frost demon may adopt a frost theme like some weird team uniform protocol. they're fabulous ok. think of it like matching couple shirts.)

____[Abilities] The Umbra witches have an array of abilities handed down through their clan. Grasping a couple is a blessing, a certain few a miracle, and all of them together near impossible. Some often heard of ones:
- Witch Walk: Whenever the moon casts its glow on an Umbra Witch, she is given the ability to walk side-ways and upside-down on walls. Moonlight is fickle and is said to have caused countless accidents during training...
- Witch Time: For a few crucial seconds, Umbra Witches may slow time to a halt. Commonly used for dodging and parlor tricks.
- Beast Within: The witch has the ability to shape-shift into one animal for a short time. Typically a large feline or a bird, chosen by the witch based on their preferred mode of transportation: ground speed or flight. The witches of old were said to be able to change into three different animals depending on their needs, but that much knowledge has been lost to the newer generations.

The fear of them which had spurred witch hunts simply produced more witches and the clan had found themselves settling nicely into the vast world of Halloween.

____[Occupation] The original life 'job' of the Umbra witch was to, before the end of their trainings, create a pact (contract) with a demon(s) which in turn raised their power/magic at the cost of an eternal bond (servitude, a favor) or some price for the demon. With this new found power, they would hunt angels to aid the demons and create a balance of darkness in the world. Halloween Town was a place of opportunity for the witches and while it is tradition to bond with the demons and follow the old way, there are a handful that either don't mingle with demons or stray from the angel hunting path. This is frowned upon in the sisterhood, but what the Umbra witches know too well is what time does to all things is change them. The less disapproved career is alchemy and medicines, an old favorite but expensive hobby of the witches.

____[Umbra Witches & Demons] Demons are not an unfamiliar group to the Umbra Witches. Traditionally, Umbra Witches wish to make contracts with them in search of power; however, this is very dangerous and gone about carefully. When the Umbra witches seek this power, they gain it eternally, but at a price all unique to the demon(s). Due to the high risk and reward, some of the recent generations have decided against it and simply work with demons in other ways. If a contract is successful and the bond made, the new-found power typically takes form in the witch's FEAR which gains attributes of the demon(s) related like some historic catalog of everyone they've meddled with.

While I don't want to discourage you from questing what you want to play, this character type will be difficult to adapt to the TiH setting. The Umbra Witches, as presented, won't work with canon. There are a couple of big problems with the basic concept.

- Reapers do not gain powers from contracts with demons. Their power is innate.
- There are no angels in TiH. While there are fallen angels and demons, these creatures come from human ideas of fallen angels and demons rather than being actually fallen or related to another plane.

If you'd really like to continue this quest and adapt her to work with the setting, I'd advise you to send a PM to the mule so a GM or admin can help you figure out a way to fit this character into canon.

Sorry to be a downer! I don't want you to have to find out you have to make big changes later, after you've invested a lot of time and energy into the quest. Good luck!

No problem and thank you! I knew it would be difficult and some things quite different. I didn't even think of PMing the mule for more help. I appreciate it. emotion_yatta
