AMITYVILLE ACADEMY ENROLLMENT FORM
Name: Aquilo Camdin Nicknames: Quill Gender: Male Age: 17
Faction: Reaper Race: Snow Mage Height: 5'10"
Personality:
xxLife's a Gamexxxxx{ + } xxxxxxxIf there is one thing Aquilo has going in his favor, it would be his seemingly endless cheery and playtime energy that propels him through the day. Existence is a game, it's a motto he's stuck to thick and thin. The best players are the ones who get ahead. Why not have fun with it all? Problems and conflict are met with a lighthearted, care-free demeanor. Stress is something Aquilo rarely seems to experience, or at least he's pretty quick to laugh things off and move on. Always the type to introduce himself with a grin and a handshake--or a snowball to the face--he greets each acquaintance as if they might be a long time friend. Actual friends should not be especially surprised to find the reaper hanging on them or trying to breeze some cheerier mood into them. Stressed? Come throw snowballs with him. Down? Expect him to hang around with a whistle, a hum, jokes if you'll accept them--or if silence is preferred, he'll still stick around. Just trying to fill your space with happy vibes. And maybe snow.
xxBaby it's Cold Outsidexxxxx{ + } xxxxxxxSnow might be cold, but Aquilo's not. From a body temp that keeps him comfy and cozy in the lower temperatures, to his tendency to be rather hands-on around creeple, he's the polar opposite of the element he's so atuned to. Friendly to all he encounters first and foremost, he has a basic rule he seems to follow. If he can't physically make contact with the being somehow, even briefly, he will either attempt to literally push himself physically through their barriers, or... he'll simply write them off. He is someone who finds physical contact a requirement of social life, and simply cannot understand why someone would be against all forms. If he can't even get a handshake, there's an issue in his mind. He does respect boundaries, in that minor sense. Not good with hugs? He'll find that strange, but settle for light shoulder pats or handshakes. Ok with full-force tackles? Aquilo has no sense to reserve himself and will likely do just that. Allow him a minor form of physical contact, and he'll radiate warmth and kindness. He'll adapt to the boundaries set by the other party, provided he's got that one requirement of his somehow met.
xxWinter Never Forgetsxxxxx{ + } xxxxxxxSay a name once to Aquilo, show him a photo, flash numbers in front of his eyes, and you're pretty much set that he'll remember it. For a very long time. True, he'll usually repeat a name a few times if the situation allows just to make sure he's got the pronunciation down, or perhaps repeat back another tidbit just to have that reassurance he heard it right the first time. But it'll be stored away in his memory bank, ready for plucking back into use when necessary. A photographic memory comes in handy when dealing with spells, studying, socializing. It can, in that sense, make some tasks run boring for him, when few challenges or means of entertainment present themselves. Which tend to lead to Aquilo trying to get creative, to mixed means. But he'll at least remember which avenues lead to what results for next time. And whom to call for assistance if his laughing ways land him in trouble. Assuming, of course, he hasn't chosen to intentionally delete the memory, in a sense.
xxWhy so Serious~?xxxxx{ - } xxxxxxxHe should take s**t more seriously sometimes. He really should. Fun and games are fine and dandy, in moderation. Moderation just not something the reaper seems to have much of a concept of. Laughing off problems--his health, confrontations with friends, offending authority--doesn't get him pretty far though. His tendency to try and blow off negativity around him backfires, often, resulting in more things he tries to laugh off. A snowball effect that does nothing to help him, yet does equally little to sway him to change his ways. For how great his memory is, his ability to write someone out of his life, and out of his memory, is rather good for errasing his recollection of problems and how he first got himself into the situation. He'll meet each problem with a laugh and a grin, try to diffuse the situation with swaying towards fun and games instead. When that doesn't work, he'll merely shrug and look for the quickest way out. If that means running, so be it. If that means blasting someone with a cold gust of air.... well. So be it. He'll just snicker afterwards--assuming he's not bitten off worse trouble in the process.
xxFlaky as a Flurryxxxxx{ - } xxxxxxxSeriousness is the antithesis of Aquilo. As is responsibility and growing up, apparently. Try and shove him towards these things, and you might as well be shoving the same end of a magnet at another for how quickly he'll run out. Aquilo does not know how to properly deal with stress. His best solution? Run away. Hide away, go play a game... and maybe it'll go away. Usually, it doesn't. Much to his distress. Laughing and joking rarely gets him out of his responsibilities--but by Jack, he will try. A+ for effort. If only it got through his skull he'd go a lot farther in life by applying that effort towards his assignments and otherwise being productive. Which, he can, after a long while of procrastination and using constant excuses of "Pft that's no fun, I'll do this instead." If authority is in his face, or a friend shoves him in the right direction... Aquilo will comply and buckle down for the moment. Unfortunately, someone would need to keep a tight reign over him. The reaper would be out and back to goofing off the moment they glanced away. A trait that continues into his social life. Need Aquilo to be around? If you mean to offer fun advice and get you out of your room, count on him! If you mean for... emotional support. Or any real support... uh. Don't... count on him. Now and again he might surprise someone and hang around for a bit. But Aquilo is far from a friend others can count on to be with them through thick and thin. More like through thin and maybe-he'll-surprise-you-on-the-thick. Aquilo is, by most experience, a fair-weather friend. Not that he has much qualms with that. He's not here for the stress. He'll just exit stage left as his needs require.
xxBlizzards Buryxxxxx{ - } xxxxxxxMuch in part of the fair-weather friend, Aquilo has an interesting aspect to his mind. For all his good memory, the reaper has a large tendency to willingly forget information. In one part, he views it as a requirement, saying it allows him to keep better track of pertinent information. In reality, this is hardly the case. Aquilo simply shoves information he deems "worthless" deeper into his mind, making it more difficult for him to recall at the drop of a hat. Telling someone he forgot something is, in a sense, a lie. He simply isn't putting the effort into digging into his mind for the information. Where this comes into play namely is dealing with creeple. Once he decides someone is too much of a stick in the mud, or if he feels even slightly faulted by them... he "forgets" them. Writing someone out of his book is easy as a flick of the wrist for this reaper. Why stress over someone whom, in his mind, causes him stress? Of course, this tends to only land him in more hot water later on. But in the moment--the only moment Aquilo seems to exist in--he sees no harm, no foul... and effectively kicks creeple and things from his memory bank. If someone manages to get back into his good graces, oh the information will all still be there. All the time they'd spent together, good and bad moments. All the information he could have, just moments before, claimed was gone and he'd forgotten. Lies. He simply didn't pluck them out of the deeper recesses of his mind until he decided he liked the individual again.
Familiar:
xxName xxxxxxxEadgard
xxPersonality xxxxxxxEadgard, "Ed," is the sour puss to Aquilo's prankster. A partridge with a strict sense of right and wrong, he is not above flying up to Aquilo's shoulder and utilizing his beak to literally drill some message or lesson into the mage's skull. He knows Aquilo heard him. And he forgot because he let himself forget. When not being a mother hen to his partner, Ed is a rather polite and--though Aquilo swears the opposite--rather social. His strict antics are usually reserved only for Aquilo. He doesn't give too many cares about risky behavior anyone else gets into. Usually. He does sometimes make exceptions.
Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? Aquilo's lack of serious attention towards his studies in the school closer to his family has resulted in them taking action. Aware one of his "cousins" is attending Amity, his parents have shipped their second youngest off to the academy in hopes of straightening him up a bit. Or at least for his cousin to influence some more refined manners into him.

Natural Ability: Arctic Atmosphere xxxxxxAquilo's not someone who minds the cold. At all. In fact, he far prefers it. Probably helps that he's able to adjust the very temperatures around himself to accommodate his magic. He is able to exhale icy air at will, dropping the temperatures significantly around him at a radius of around six feet or so. It's not uncommon for moisture in the air to start turning to flurries around him, or for him to have a light dusting on his clothing or hair due to this. Gives him a little something to manipulate for his spells.
FEAR Ability: THE CHARGE
xxNorth Wind's Breath xxxxxxxChanneling his FEAR, Aquilo exhales a deep breath of icy, icy air. The air whips up into a gale of thick snow and ice directed towards a singular direction to strike all those in its path with bone chilling cold and sharp ice.

xxxx Meet the family! Peragrine, eldest son. Peragrine falcon familiar named Rugard. Arne, second eldest son. Golden eagle familiar by the name of Gizelle. Kestral, eldest daughter. Mauritius kestral familiar by the name of Ruby. Aquilo himself. Calum, youngest daughter. Common Bronzewing familiar by the name of Variant.
Yes. It is a family of reapers with names that--typically--reflect the avian familiar they bond with. Names are viewed as a personal prophecy amongst the line, even if the actual use can be called into question. Aquilo, for example, was expected to bond with an eagle of some type due to his name. However, he bonded with a pheasant, a partridge. This does happen now and then when the name doesn't match the familiar, but it's certainly still viewed as... awkward.
