Follow Gaia's Rules and ToS xxxxxThis is still part of Gaia, therefore, please make sure that you follow their Terms of Service and their Rules and Guidelines. This means that everything you post in the guild and chatroom should fall under a PG-13+ rating. For more information on what that means, read this.
Drama xxxxxDrama, coercion, harassment, and rudeness are unacceptable in the forums or chatroom. Contact a crew member if a member is causing problems.
The Main Forum xxxxxYou may not create threads in the Main Forum. Any threads that are posted here will be moved.
Information xxxxxPlease make sure you observe all posted stickies and announcements. They contain important information regarding that part of the guild. Also, please make sure that you stay up to date on guild announcements. This is the best way to make sure you know what's going on in the guild. Also, in case Gaia happens to crash, like our Facebook page to stay in the loop.
Time xxxxxAll times used in this guild will be Eastern Standard Time (EST). As far as roleplay time goes, three months in the real world will equal a complete year in the guild (a school year and a summer). To make sure you know what's going on, check out Calendar
Crew xxxxxBefore you message a crew member, make sure you read "Who Do You Talk to?" in order to make sure you're sending an owl to the right person. Stay messages are likely to be forwarded, so don't panic if someone different responds. xxxxxDo not impersonate the crew in the chatrooms or forums. This will cause an automatic and permanent removal from the guild. xxxxxObey all instructions given to you by a crew member/Vice Captain/Captain in guild and chatroom. Refusal to cooperate will result in removal from the guild. If crew members/Vice Captain/Captain are witnessed breaking the rules or being unfair (e.g. abusing their power, being unnaturally cruel, etc.), do not hesitate to PM a Vice Captain and provide your claim. It will be evaluated thoroughly by the Captain and the Vice Captains. The Captain, however, will have the final say as to what must be done. All issues will be discussed between the Captain and the person(s) involved, unless the Captain is absent for longer than a week or if the Captain asks a Vice Captain to step in or if the issue is about the Captain. All such events will result in a Vice Captain’s involvement. xxxxxIf you would like to become part of the crew, read this thread to find out what you have to do.

Pre-Character Making xxxxxBefore making a character, it is very important that you read through the Family Basics and Information and/or Magical Creature Basics and Information threads.
Original Characters xxxxxAs stated on the main page, we want original characters. As such, there are some names that you are not allowed to give to your characters. For a full list, see here. xxxxxxxxxxThe exception to this is some magical creatures.
Location xxxxxThis guild is for the Ministry of Magic located in the United Kingdom, also known as the British Isles. Because of this, we expect most characters to have names and backgrounds from the British Isles. If you wish your character to go to Hogwarts, they must have been born in the British Isles.
Titles xxxxxPlease make sure you pay attention to the title of your profile thread. Different titles mean different things. For more information, see here.
Requests xxxxxEach character may only have one more-than-average trait. The exception to this is twins. xxxxxIf you wish to use a celebrity's face as your character's face, please check our face-claim list to make sure they are available. Please avoid having multiple characters with the same celebrity face.
Joining a Family xxxxxIf you wish to make a character for an existing family that you are not the manager of, please make sure to ask that family's manager before posting. The family manager is the user who created the thread. They are then responsible for adding your username to the first post with the date they accepted your character.

The Basics xxxxxUnless otherwise stated, all subforums in this guild are to be used for roleplaying. Any time you wish to say something Out of Character (OOC), please use a form of brackets to indicate this.
OOC Example ((Gonna head off for the night!)) xxxxxPlease, do not make separate posts in a roleplay thread for an OOC post. xxxxxStay in character. Do not godmod. That means taking control of another’s character or forcing them to do something with their character without giving them a chance to post. You must respect other roleplayers
Posts xxxxxWhile your posts do not have to be the most beautiful thing in the world, they do need to have a few things included in them. When posting, students must provide: name, house, year. Professors must provide: name, class they teach. Shop owners and shop assistants must put their names and the shop they own/work at. Magical creatures must state what creature they are and their names (if applicable). Job positions of adults should be provided.
The Guilds xxxxxThis guild is the sister guild of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry Roleplay Guild. This means that characters from this guild may be posted there and vice versa. It is not required to roleplay in both guilds, but it is highly encouraged and is a lot of fun.
Plotting xxxxxIf you would like to have an interesting plot happen, please read here. Anyone who does not request their plot, will have the plot nullified. If you have a large plot that requires a lot of planning, feel free to create a thread here. If you'd like to have a guild-wide plot, contact Violet the Maestro.
Sandbox xxxxxThis subforum is used for trips outside of the British Isles. Most of these threads tend to be private, so make sure it's okay for you to post before you do so.
Help xxxxxWe understand that everyone needs to start somewhere, and, well, it can be pretty intimidating to start. Therefore, we have this thread to help you out.
