Personalities: Bashshar - Bashshar is a fairly laid back individual, and it acts like a double-edged sword. It makes things easier for Bashshar to handle, but it also makes him come across as lazy, careless, and even impudent. He simply takes things in stride, accepts what is happening to him and around him and trudges on forward. Criticism of his attitude is usually met with a smile and a shrug of his shoulders, and sometimes an apology even when he feels like he's done nothing wrong. It's simply easier for him to be agreeable than it is to fight everything thrown in his path.
Bashshar is by no means a go-getter. He tends to take on whatever comes his way, and doesn't strive for much more than that. Motivation is a huge factor in his life that he is completely
missing. Earlier in his teenage years, he'd much rather bum out on his parent's couch and watch cartoons and play video games than go outside and hang out with his friends. But, he was never able to really make close friends that he felt like he
wanted to hang around with. His ability to see shadows only aided him in distancing himself from other people. His attitude towards seeing things was rather casual and calm - not normally what people would expect from someone who claimed to 'see' things. Bashshar is very capable of making friends, but building lifelong, meaningful relationships, is something he is years off from being able to do.
He really isn't the smartest person around, but more than makes up for it with a natural curiosity. He simply likes to know the world around him, even if it takes him a little longer to understand it completely.
Kanbo - Kanbo clearly runs the show, and acts in general as a motivator for Bashshar in all the worst ways possible. She's demanding, and constantly believes that her way is the best way, that her opinions are
facts. It's safe to assume that Kanbo is always correct, because she wouldn't budge to admit that she's wrong anyways. In most situations, Kanbo acts as the decision maker, and pushes her supreme guidance onto Bashshar whether he likes it or not (he doesn't). She is quite possibly the worst backseat driver in the history of backseat drivers, though unfortunately Bashshar is the only one who can vouch for this. Her decisions and ideas may not always be sound, but once she settles on one, it's rather difficult to sway her.
Why did your human character choose to become a Hunter? Bashshar had never felt particularly close to his family, and not because they never got along. They just never connected, and when he began to see things he managed to distance himself further from him. His attitude towards the unknown was so casual that no one took him seriously, and even his friends would shrug him off with short laughs. The decision to become a Hunter was almost
too easy for him. Bashshar had a naturally curiosity towards what he could see - when it had at first frightened him, over the years he got used to seeing strange things, and gradually became overcome by the urge to
know. He felt like had a better connection with the things everyone else couldn't see than what they could. His recruitment was definitely a quick affair.
