A small, gray passenger ship coasted through the vast blue of the ocean waters, gradually making its way to its destination. Though innocuous in its appearance, the boat was far less innocent than any average person might assume. The Rocket-owned ship, christened in Johto but loaned temporarily to the Kodo headquarters building, ferried a collection of infamous criminals as its cargo. In addition to the handful of crew members necessary to operate the vessel and the pair of medics staffing the small clinical area, the cabin accommodated the several Rockets that were destined for Team Rocket's current mission objective: Paladin Island in the Decolore archipelago.
The instructions the Rockets had been given before setting out had been brief and vague. The Rangers' educational program was a public event, so in order to blend in, they were to bring a set of civilian clothes that wouldn't stand out and would be comfortable and easy to move in. Small bags and purses were acceptable, but large, conspicuous bags had been strongly discouraged. The executive who had arranged the mission had refused to give permission for firearms to leave the base, and any other visible weaponry was disallowed for the sake of remaining inconspicuous. The finer details of the mission, however - save for the common knowledge that they were being sent to acquire a legendary pokemon native to Unova - were still foggy.
Already the boat had been en route for a day, but at last the ship was beginning to approach the end of its voyage. The morning of their second day at sea, Elite Agent Claire, the elite presiding over the mission, spoke to attract the attention of the dispatched Rockets for a moment, "I'll give the full mission brief one hour from now, before we reach Paladin Island's port later this afternoon."
[The next staff post will be in one hour! You are encouraged (but not required) to post and have your character interact with others in the meanwhile or ask a couple questions if they want, or to just plain enjoy the ride. They are on a boat on a nice late spring day, after all!]

Well, so far so good, Kyle thought, technically the mission hadn't really begun, but for the time being one couldn't exactly be too uncomfortable cursing around on a boat, in casual comfortable clothes and soaking up the sun with the crisp open air. The fact that this mission was going to involve a legendary was... more of less conveniently place in the back of Kyle's mind before he really had to face it, being a little more confident as they had an organized team now, and was very much interested in the prospect of stealing legendary for money... instead of... you know; killing all pokemon and most human life.
The dark blond stood toward the back of the boat, leaning his back against the railing with his arms propped up on either side of him, his hair styled back with a slick confidence, and a pare of aviators sitting comfortably over his bright yellow eyes, as he glanced around at the team that would be working on this mission. His unseen eyes fell onto the person closest to him, a rocket with blond hair leaning against the railing, He had never seen this man before, knowing neither his name nor his rank. (to Xander) "Have you been on any of these kinds of missions before?" He asked the man over the sound of the boat's engines and blowing winds.

Nerves....So many nerves, all alight. Riley stood on the deck of the ship in a pair of shorts and a shirt a size or two far too big hanging open over a fitted tanktop, watching the waves roll about as she played absently with the straps of her old drawstring backpack. Already, the experience was surreal... never had she imagined she would find herself traveling across the ocean, and never in a million years would she have believed she would be embarking on a mission of this nature with such a group of people. Though she had joined Rocket to pursue her research... there was no chance on earth she would have passed up on the opportunity to help secure the DNA of a legendary pokemon.
Now, though she had been beside herself to volunteer, she was nervous, second guessing her abilities at every even minute, calming herself every odd. This wasn't the first time this had been done; she knew of the legendaries Rocket had captured. It was a beautiful day, and she had been training after all...
Anxiously, Molly pawed around the girl's legs, not enjoying the feeling of the water rolling beneath them. It couldn't be soon enough that the leafeon would find solid ground under her paws again.
Looking around, and deciding it best not to back herself into a corner and psych herself out even more, the girl sought out anyone to talk to.

Lu had had a glare etched onto his face the moment he go onto the ship. Not because he has angry, not because he had some hatred for boats or the ocean, but because he felt like he was absolutely going to fry his nerves if he didn't try to keep as stoic as he possibly could. Sitting inside the cabin, Lu kept his arms crossed and his eyes on the floor. He'd survived one encounter with a legendary, this would likely be his second; as the saying went, third time's the charm. The tall brunet figured he had one more legendary encounter before he died.
Being in normal clothes was a small comfort at least. A pair of dark slacks, a pink t-shirt, and a black jacket, Lu hoped he looked normal enough. He'd decided it better to braid his hair to keep it out of his face as much as possible. Lu was fully prepared to keep his butt in his seat, glaring at the floor like he wanted to fight it, and wait an hour until they were fully briefed.

Signing up had seemed like a great idea at the time. Now though....
Well it still seemed sensible, he needed to be keen if he was going to be promoted especially as his main selling point was skill in the field and a powerful team. Sensible. Sensible but....
Aulus was up on deck when the announcement came, leaning against the rail. For a moment that voice distracted him with a vague wistfulness for things that might have been under different circumstances - maybe if they were both slightly less screwed up people, or were less busy for example - but that moment passed quickly and he was back to feeling on edge. Last time he had gone off on a big mission, well, it hadn't ended well.
It hadn't ended for a long, long time.
Galactic were out of the picture though, right? There'd been no whisper of them since they'd escaped with Deimos as their captive, it would be a one in a million chance for them to turn up here. Even if they were after the legendary too what were the chances they would have chosen today to come?
He wished he could have brought his staff. As inconspicuous was the order of the day however, and just by the nature of his face he rather stood out, he couldn't afford anything even vaguely weird about his person. Monochrome cargo pants. Black t-shirt. Supple tough black ankle boots. Maybe he looked army or ex-army or... well whatever, it was the best he could do.
Aulus fidgeted, drummed his fingers against the rail. Worst of it - well not the worst of it but certainly a big steaming s**t on top of all the other s**t - was that he couldn't look nervous, he was in public and there was no way he could show that kind of weakness. Hell, he couldn't show it to his friends and feel comfortable about it. Just... just look impatient.
Aulus scowled and glanced over at Tam. "Well it's taken bloody long enough, hasn't it?"

"Yea," Aulus replied to Tam, sounding underwhelmed
They would be, and once he wasn't waiting anymore he'd feel better right? Tam didn't look nervous. Xander didn't look twitchy. Why was his mouth dry, why was it him? It wasn't supposed to be him. He was supposed to be the tough guy, he was supposed to be-
It would be better once they were doing something, and he was going to see a legendary! Focus on that, on the good things.
Aulus ran his fingers over the pokeballs on his belt, just making sure that they were all still in order. Yes, all good, all with him. No problem.
"It's a nice boat though," he added after a brief silence, "I didn't know we even had any, though it makes sense of course.
