AMITYVILLE ACADEMY ENROLLMENT FORMName: Emerys North
Nicknames: Emma, Echo, Rys
Gender: Male/Genderneutral
Age: ??? He's not entirely sure. Definitely a teen tho.
Faction: Demon
Race: Winged Bat Demon (Dark Souls II)
Natural Ability: n/a No discernable natural abilities other than obvious physical traits.
Personality: Pretty sure it was this way.Just....don't listen to any directional advice Emma has to give. Ever. Assume if he thinks its one direction, that it is in the opposite direction. His blindness wouldn't be so much a problem, as bats have echolocation at their disposal, if he wasn't slightly deaf as well. While not entirely crippled, it's a lot like needing glasses but nobody knows how to give them to you. He may realize there are certain landmarks around, but he can easily confuse the signals he gets back from his super high frequency pinging, making one place 'look' very similar to another in his mind. He's tried using hearing aids, but his ears are too large and too naturally sensitive for the device, and he ended up with a mind-numbing high pitched screech ringing in his ears because of them. Unable to pick up his natural clicks and sounds, Emerys can be struck entirely blind if you take away his special, more sensitive and higher frequency transmitter that bounces around sound waves for him (currently, it is a small microphone disguised as his school pin).
Additionally, because his ears are the way he 'sees', he frequently confuses friends for other people. He may know and love you, but that does not mean he won't call you by someone elses name because he cannot recognize your voice clearly and your 'image' isn't coming in loud and clear. People with similar silhouettes especially confuse him. He used to quite often call his father "mom, big bro, gramps, Auntie Ilsa" and various other family members names. His family eventually fixed this issue at home by attaching small, but different-frequency, accessories to themselves, so that each member of the family would 'sound' different so Emma could distinguish them. This method actually seems to work fairly well.
Huh? You wanted to to what with a what?Hearing problems aside, Emma's super....vague. Flightly at best, negligent and ignoring the universe at worst. He rarely pays attention to things, and is always going off on some strange tangent (think Luna Lovegood). He's been known to completely derail a conversation by randomly asking an off the wall question he's been pondering in his head for a bit.
He also has a problem of responding to you after the fact, when you've already moved onto something else because he's a rather slow talker. It's not that he's stupid, he just takes a lot of time to consider what he's going to say, and doesn't always care if it's appropriate to answer the question.
Hey there starshine, the sky says hello.Rather good natured, patient, and mellow, Emma's strange in a loveable way. Much like a hippy that's had a bit too many recreational brownies, he can often seem nonsensical and peculiar. He tries his best to be helpful though, and genuinely likes people. Laying all over friends like a cat, or limp noodle perhaps, he has no concept of personal space simply because he does not wish to be alone so why would his friends want to be alone? This is ingrained behavior as Vampire Bats usually live in communal 'flocks' where large extended family preens and cuddles with everyone in the house, so he thinks this is completely normal behavior no matter how uncomfortable YOU may be and mysteriously 'can't hear you, sorry I'm deaf' when you protest to his attention.
Occasionally he'll say something intelligent or profound, or actually useful to the current situation at hand, but those moments are so disjointed and delayed that it's rare that he'll get the information/idea to you in time. He's also very easily distracted.
Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy?Honestly he was looking for St.Vladimir's Finishing School for Vampires, the school the vast majority of his family has Alma mattered from, and thinks he is actually there. He does not realize he got lost with the directions, and thinks his classmates are just really weird types of vampires/vampire bats.
FEAR Ability: Need to re-categorize this.
(Y1) A disabling screech, in which his entire mouth opens, emitting a deafening sonic frequency. Meant to deafen and disorient others, if he uses it for a long duration, he ends up disorienting himself as well (10 second delay since he's already partially deaf).
(Y2) A short blast of mid-range frequency sonic wave, that pushes someone back or can disorient if released directly in front of their face (think Boom Bubble from Digimon yo.)
(Y3) A veritable sonic BOOM. Emma sucks in air and blasts it back out at a very low frequency that while not inherently hearing damaging, is strong enough to blast objects in front of him. He must be facing his target directly as the wave cannot change direction.
