HELLO | Well I'm definitely more established since the last time I updated this! I'm now a firm member of the community and a colourist to boot! <3
Welcome! I’m still fairly new here at Matope, especially when compared to the shop's seasoned veterans. But I've found my way and am starting to feel apart of it all. I’m open to roleplay, and definitely plotting and breeding. Feel free to drop me a message about any of the above! c:
NAMING DREAM | It was dark all around him but he wasn’t afraid. It was merely plain and blank until the flurry of lights whirled around him! Flickering to life in the darkness, he watched the stars fill it with light, pattern and meaning.
They were like actors to his play, each twinkle a like a line, song and vow all in one. They twirled by, telling stories he’d soon forget and singing lullabies as he drifted.
Near the end, he smelt fragrance for the first time and the starlight began to dim.
He cried out to them as first, struggling against his invisible binds. But they hushed and reassured him. There had been darkness once and they had come. They would come to him again.
The kind starlight, stars bright and dim. They would always belong to him, as he to them.
ABOUT | Starlit Vow usually hides away for naps during the day, awaking in the evening to greet the stars. In line with his naming dream, he considers the stars family. He enjoys more than anything bright, clear nights when the stars are most visible.
With an attitude probably inherited from his father, Vow like many kiokote holds a keen love for freedom. In his particular case it is for the freedom to roam as he follows the twinkling stars. Due to this and his unusual sleeping pattern, Vow doesn’t often encounter other kin but when he does he greets with enthusiasm and loves to entertain with a star-told story.
It’s unclear whether the stars actually tell Vow these stories but he certainly believes they do. Yet one way or another Vow makes for a brilliant story teller and can speak new tales on demand without pause for thought simply by reading the stars. For the most part Vow’s storytelling is for anyone that wishes to listen but on occasion he will exchange his stories for whatever he might want or need at the given time.
ABOUT | Spurred on by the sheer energy seen in his first dream, Instant is always on the move and ever restless, never happy to be idle for long. He was born in the plains but has ventured in all directions, he has impressive stamina and can travel far at a faster pace than even some of the of the most athletic fellow Kiokote.
In tune with his wanderlust, Instant doesn’t tend to dwell and is just about as carefree as they come. He’s also a very self assured buck and very little fazes him. He is difficult to offend and often finds attempts amusing. He’s also highly tolerant through not usually patient.
It’s also worth mentioning that Instant is a notorious charmer and lover of the fairer sex, Instant is almost always up for a tryst with the prettiest of local does of where ever he might be visiting and lives up to the hype of his charm, being an attentive and passionate lover. He leaves does sighing blissfully even after his likely to have been swift departure.
★Born alone in the plains, immediately driven to move by an incredible energy.
★ During his adolescence he traveled far and wide over the Plains, the Swamp and even along the edge of the Desert.
★ Early into his adulthood he met a stunning Kiokote doe with a spontaneous drive that matched his own, one fiery fling later and he was bidding her farewell and on his way once more. Unbeknownst to him, he leaves her with child.
★ Traveling towards the edge of the Plains, he spots a red buck at the edge of the Swamp. (unfinished)
ABOUT | Little Pea is a sweet little thing, kind and soft spoken. A kin that spends her waking hours at night, enjoying the clam serenity of it.
Even as a foal, Pea was quiet. Asleep during the day, she'd often spend little time conversing with her family, but would watch over them as they slept with affection. She had the strongest bond with her father, who is also often awake at night and provided for her exclusively while her mother tended to pretend neither her nor her siblings existed.
None the less, Pea persisted with her mother and would sit by her while she slept (and couldn't push her away), turning a blind eye to her mother's neglect and often speaking to her as if they had a normal mother/daughter relationship. As an adult Pea still thinks fondly of each member of her family.
As an adult, Pea comes across as rather naive due to her coping mechanism of choice being denial. She has romanticised views about procreation and love as well as all that is in the swamp in general. More than rose hinted vision, Pea sees the world as if no evil, cruelty or malicious intent exists, even even such things appear right before her. She finds a way to rationalise any and every situation and yet the weight of her denial every so often will lead her to bouts of depression she can't explain.
NAMING DREAM | A quiet, soft night enveloped her and all that was.
She felt nothing, not cold or warmth, character less, formless. Until a tiny flicker stirred, then another, and another.
They clustered and spread, building channels and networks and life! Slowly, she felt herself grow and take shape, she could feel it all.
It was coming, bubbling up her delicate new body. Energy. Pure energy. She felt it pierce her brow and trail down her her neck and back, weaving in pattern.
And then it leaped! Jumping to another, but it wasn’t gone, never gone. Another! Another! The abyss gained light and life. Everything was sparkling and pulsing, no nook or carney left untouched.
The whole world was lit up before her, clear as day.
ABOUT | Clear as Day is blind, which is not in it's self unusual for a Zikwa, but she has always been able to see. She sees in energies which in several some ways allows her better "vision" than the average kin. Clarity is very aware of the world around her, easily distracted by the minuscule energy shifts and changes constantly occurring.
A quiet creature, Clarity spends much of her time observing life, in all it's forms and wonder. She struggles to understand how others can go around ignoring the busy, vibrant world around them. While she might come off as absent minded, the very opposite is true and almost to the point of being overwhelmed with her preoccupation.
Clarity is not in the least bit dim, but she has never had the mind for social constructs, seeing life as one big unfolding network of life and energy, she doesn't truly even identify as zikwa or even by boarder definition, kin. She only just has the level needed to converse, yet has a surprisingly rich vocabulary.
NAMING DREAM | Everything is dim and dull in deep sleep, no colour, no sound. Still and silent, they look over a land of stone, craters and crevices. It stretches out endlessly in every direction, a dark sky blanketed overhead.
They stare. They are weightless, breathless, helpless. Cracks creep to the surface, the stone breaking, brittle and old. The time is nearing. Their world is ending.
But then there was light, blue and bright.
It breaks their silence, awakens their lungs, but they’re cold, so very cold. The stone beneath is like ice and they can’t feel their feet. With ice in their veins, light in their eyes, they draw in their first and last shaken breath.
ABOUT | Spoken is a kind of eerie buck. He treads so softly and quietly that you’d expect his voice to be but a whisper, but you’d be wrong. He has instead a very clear and strong voice, spoken always with sure words and almost never hiding his true intentions.
His naming dream, shared with his twin sister, is something of a mystery to the both of them. What was that place and that blue light that had given them life? Neither he nor his sister feel sure, but they secretly suspect the moon had once had a twin like themselves and that the light had been the great motherfather, whisking them to the safety of her land before the twin-moon’s destruction long, long ago.
While it remains their surest theory, it fills the twins with unease. They fear that it may be some kind of premonition, and that one day only one of them will grow old and brittle, while they other watches on unscathed and timeless. Spoken tries not the believe it, quietly fearing it will be him that decays while his sister remains, pristine and perfect.
Due to this, his feelings towards her are complicated. He is torn between the strong bond between them and a deep envy that broods inside him. He secretly feels he’s constantly competing with her for everything, including possible suitors. When someone should pursue her over him, he feels deeply offended. In contrast, he is elated when he is chosen over her. He feels deeply ashamed for these feelings and hides them well from Awoken Lungs, at the very least. It is the only thing that he will not speak plainly about.
ABOUT | "I've seen them!" She'll tell you. "They're coming!" She'll warn you. "Beings from space will come down and take over all of Matope!"
Sky is just a little paranoid, it's not her fault really, it's her naming dream that's to blame. She really truly believes she was abducted by space-beings and will not be convinced otherwise. She knows what she saw.
When she's not unintentionally convincing fellow kin that she's a little, well, special, Sky is very lady like, keeping her beautiful long hair free of tangles and bundled up out of the way, expertly pinned into place (don't even ask how she does it) so that she might spend her days daintily chewing on only the sweetest of marsh grasses.
Being a mother has changed her a little, her need to inform others of the space beings that abducted her having dwindled in the wake of raising now eight fine young does and two strong, dutiful bucks. She is just as sure of herself as she's ever been, just now more justified in feeling so.
She's much too comfortable with her current life to think about change but she sometimes dreams of traveling beyond the marshlands to the plains... So that she might spread the news of the impending invaders far and wide, of course. (She will be part of The High Society tribe once it's been set up, where she will serve as a teacher of the young and ignorant.)

ABOUT | As a foal, All Too Soon stuck by his mother's side along side his sisters. She was tough on him and his sisters but he always understood she only wanted them to grow up in her image, strong and independent. He always tried to live up to her expectations and for the most part succeeded, craving affection that never quite came. Too Soon thought of his father often throughout childhood, wishing to know him and wondering if he was even aware of his and his sister's existence.
In adulthood he puts action to his wonderings and goes in search of his mysterious father, All at Once.
During this travels, Too Soon comes across the wonder that is The Royal Rainbow Troupe. A beautiful dark acha doe named Bring in the Night catches his eye and for one night, he catches her's too. Sometime later he hears through the kin grapevine about the troupe's beautiful glaxay marked acha & kio foals, putting two and two together he realises the timing fits, those children must be his and he is determined to be a present father figure for them.
To everyone involved's surprise, All Too Soon's long lost father apparently had the same idea and the two unite. However, unable to stay in one place for too long, All at Once would soon leave and Too Soon would face his toughest life choice yet, to stay with his newborn foals and be the father to them that he'd always wished to have or to follow his father, the person he'd always wanted to meet and get to know.
All Too Soon chooses to stay. His father still visits the troupe occasionally and the two are able to get to know one another. Too Soon becomes a permanent support member of The Royal Rainbow Troupe, staying long after his children are grown. He smiles and gives his blessing when his daughter Stars in Her Eyes wants to leave and travel with her grandfather, All at Once, fufilling the dream he'd sort for himself as a young buck.
ABOUT | Motion is lucky to be alive. It's true, with his constantly spinning vision and stumbling steps, it's a wonder he even made it to adulthood. Surely this is why neither of his parents had seen fit to raise him, instead he's carefully, but still clumsily, made his way though each day, ever aware that should today be his unlucky day, there was scarcely any chance he'd escape whatever unfortunate fate awaited him.
One day however, he meets a pale grey doe, she's kind to him, she even seems to... like him. He can't speak, not without slurring and jumbled sounds, so he doesn't tell her how much it means to him that she overlooks his obvious shortcomings, but he wants to. She's up beat and carefree and he instantly adores her. One thing leads to another wonderful happenstance and for the first time in his life, he settles down to sleep beside another, content.
When he wakes up to find her, Fall to Pieces, once more introducing herself, his heart feels like it falls into his stomach. She didn't remember him, didn't remember yesterday. Of course not, he's tell himself at first, he was not worthy of remembrance, but she still seems just as enthusiastic, just as kind and friendly as yesterday. He stays with her, she's the best and only frequent company he's every had, he helps her where he can, especially as her belly grows heavy with his children. He worries incessantly that they will be like him, and he suspects that Piece feels the same, but they are born perfect and he is delighted to find their mother always knows them, and knows him that little more by extension.
Life is still hard and constant anxiety still plagues him, but to Caught in Motion, it is a gift not a curse after all.
ORIENTATION | Bisexual & Polyflexible. MATED WITH | Fall to Pieces LIFEMATE(S) | Fall to Pieces is not his lifemate in a romantic sense, but he is committed to staying with her and their family for the foreseeable future.
PETS | None
TIMELINE | Plot, Solos & Roleplay
★ Born in the swamp with a permanent case of constant dizziness. He assumes he was abandoned for this reason but truly he doesn't know, only that his first memories are of being alone.
★ Finds his way to the dessert edge and meets Fall to Pieces, stays with her and they start a family together.
NAMING DREAM | It felt slick and smooth around her. Beside her, another presence, she was dimly aware of it. Warm, comforting, she felt no need for anything else.
It was from here, where she was woven into this deep comfort, that she first heard a clear precise noise.
For a moment it was indistinguishable to her, incomprehensible. But then, it became sound and moved in rhythm, meaning blossoming from it.
Beautiful, elegant, enlightening. Then quiet.
No, this wasn't right, bring back the sound, bring back the voice. Suddenly she realised it wasn't merely a voice. It had become her's.
ABOUT | Silk is a member of the High Born tribe, a Rose be be exact and yet despite being one of only two in the second highest position of the matriarchal tribe, Silk doesn’t buy into the Mothers’ views of bringing perfection into an imperfect world. Particularly the part that dictates her family as the remedy to such imperfection, but she keeps that to herself.
On the outside she follows the rules to a tee, perfectly polite, proper and prim, because it doesn’t matter what she thinks. This is the life she was born into and she was born to be a Rose. She’s duty bound and resolved to it, but bored. Thank the Motherfather for her dear sweet brother, guiding her step by step and keeping her amused along the way. However this sweet brother is not all he seems to Silk and unbeknownst to her, Spiders, while truly caring for his sister, cares more for his ambition. Ambition that would be sorely placed, in their tribe, if not for his sister, who he uses to see out his will.
Their ultimate goal is to rise to the final rank, becoming a Mother. For Silk this means the freedom to do as she pleases but for Spiders this means control and domination.
Due to her ignorance, Silk tends to think of herself as the more devious of the two, completely oblivious to her brother's machinations. She is far from a hapless doll bending to her brother's will, and has a strong will of her own. Spiders plays a delicate game of appeasing and bargaining with her, more delicate than he even knows.
★ Was born into and raised by the High Born tribe, being apart of the first two clutch's of the tribe's founders.
★ Once full grown and properly groomed to be a perfect candidate, Silk becomes a Rose, one of only two in the second highest position of her matriarchal tribe.
★ Now a Rose, Silk is bored, and confides in her twin about her wants for further goals (becoming a Mother out of reach, for now) including romance.
