[Strikers Daughter]

Mauve Star, a pegasus in Equestria, was on her was waiting for her parent(s) to come get her from school. She was new to Ponyville and not everyone was nice to her at school. Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon had been making fun of her because she was a circus Pegasus. She sniffled as she sat behind a tree waited for Diamond Tiara and Silver spoon to leave. She was a shy pony and was not too keen on the idea of making friends since her family moved around a lot with the circus sending her to different schools where ever they went. Ponyville was their latest stop but she was too shy to actually make friends with anyone. She was even more shy than Fluttershy.

As she waited, she made her way towards the school yard once the two bullies were gone. She had her ears down waiting for whoever was picking her up to get there and make her feel better.

Starlight Frost, a unicorn and Mauve Star's adoptive mother, made her way down to the school to pick up the young filly. She hoped that Mauve didn't have too rough of a day, she knew her daughter was very shy and that it was a new school, but she heard that the residents of Ponyville where very friendly, so maybe Mauve would have an easier time making friends. Being part of a circus had it's ups and downs, like getting to see many new places, yet also moving around a lot, Starlight knew it was hard on her daughter. It was why she wanted to find a permanent place to live, so that Mauve could have an easier life, still, they were both happy to be part of the circus, or at least she thought.

Upon reaching the schoolhouse, Starlight spotted Mauve in the yard, and she didn't look too happy, which made Starlight a bit worried. Starlight made her way over to the little filly, using her magic to cause the filly's mane to cover her eyes, as she asked gently, "Had a rough day?"

Star, as her adoptive mother called her, nodded at Frost before saying "It was just two fillies mama. Everyone else was nice to me but......those two fillies called me a blank flank....." as she looked up at Starlight with sad eyes before she hugged her adoptive mother. Star had always had trouble making friends with ponies since she as a baby. She had many animal friends at the circus and a few of the wild animals around town. She had a talent for helping injured animals and calming them if they were scared. She was known as the angel of animals at the circus by the ponies who worked there.

Once they were back at the circus site, she started to feel better as she was playing with the baby tigers and cheetahs. She smiled as she pet them with their mother's close by. Star had tamed some of the most viscous animals when she was just a baby. Everyone was amazed that she could calm the animals and they really seemed to like her as a friend. Star was laughing having done her homework and seemed happy as she pet the little ones. Star was so sweet once you got to know her, and she really knew her way around the circus.

"Oh dear, that's not a nice thing to call a pony, but don't you mind what they say, you'll earn your cutie mark soon enough. It took me a long time to earn mine, so don't feel too bad, come on, let's go home." Starlight said to Star, hugging her daughter back, before the two head back to the circus. The walk back was a bit long, since the circus was on the other side of town, but they did stop for a treat, it was Starlight's way of trying to cheer up her daughter.
When they finally reached the camp, Starlight got to organizing a magic act, she wasn't a performer, but a coordinator and special effects. Seeing Star happily playing with the young animals, she focused on her task at hand, knowing well that her daughter had a way with the animals, so she didn't have to worry about her. Occasionally, Starlight would check up on her, "Star, do you think our little friends are ready to perform for tonight?"

Star nodded and said "I think so. All of them are very playful today." happily as one of the mama's came over and purred as she laid down next to Star making her giggle as the mama tiger rubbed her head against Star's head. She smiled and pet the tiger mama as her cubs came over and Star got up laughing as the cubs started chasing her around the play area. She loved playing with the animals as they were always wanting to be sweet towards her. She was the one who fed the adults and gained their trust by practicing with the babies a little each day. The babies loved to try to catch Star's tail. It was great exercise for them and it was really cute as Star played with her animal friends. Star always seemed at home with them. All the animals knew that she wouldn't hurt them or their families.

Starlight smiled and watched the little scene play out before her, the cubs chasing Star around, swiping at her tail. "That's good to hear, now don't wear them down dear, they'll be performing to night, make sure they get some practice." Starlight called out to her, then went to help out a couple of other ponies, giving them some tips and useful feedback. As the day wore down, the circus ponies began to prepare for that nights show, Starlight was helping with the outfits and makeup.

Star nodded and said "Okay mama." She then started to help the animal trainer with the show tricks. She was great with all of the animals, giving them treats and helping to keep them well groomed. It was as if she understood the animals and like she was one of them or something along those lines. When she was a baby, she had wandered off and was found fast asleep in the mama tiger's cage with the tiger curled up around Star.

Soon, the show was about to begin, Starlight kept the order of the performances in check, making sure every pony was ready. The show began with some acrobatics, which consisted of Pegasus and earth ponies, performing some breathtaking stunts. Following that, the next act was a coordination of the animals, backed by some special effects, courtesy of the unicorns. During that part, Starlight had Star help out, "Okay dear, you know what to do, make sure the animals go out at the right times."

Star nodded, Making sure she was doing her job right. Once the show was over, she was helping to make sure all the animals were fed and in their proper cages. She smiled as she saw her friends eating and having a good time with their families. Then as she went to her family's tent, and she asked "What are we having for dinner mama?"

The show went down without a hitch, a complete success, and the night was filled with excitement and happiness. Once the animals were taken care of, the clean up complete, Starlight was in here tent, waiting for Star to return, "Well, seeing as how you did a good job, I was planing on letting you decide, so what would you like?" She asked her daughter once she returned.

Star thought about it for a second before asking "Can we go out to eat mama? We haven't done that in a while." She was hoping just the two of them could go out to eat. Mostly they ate with the others and sometimes they would go too, but Star wanted some time alone with her adoptive mother. Star had no idea that she was adopted, but sometimes wondered where her father was.

Starlight looked down at her daughter, then nodded her head with a smile, "I don't see why not dear, it'll be nice to have some time to ourselves, so you decide what you would like, I'm going to check on somethings, then we'll go." With that being said, Starlight left the tent for a few minutes, going to make sure that everything was locked up for the night, before she returned to Star.

Star thought about where she wanted to go, and decided on the Hayburger Restaurant that was close by. Once they left, she walked next to Frost, seeing all the other Circus ponies closing up for the night until tomorrow. Star smiled happily as they walked to the dinner. Once there, Star looked at the menu and ordered a Hayburger with ketchup only, some crisp horseshoe fries, and a shake for desert with some water to drink. Then Star went to get them a table after telling Frost where she was going.

"Hmm, sounds good to me, let's head over there." Starlight left with Star, telling a few of the ponies where they were going, so as to not alarm any pony who might come looking for them. It was a warm night, summer was just a couple of months away, so it was a perfect night to go out, Starlight was happy to be able to spend some time with her daughter. After reaching the diner, a pleasant little place, Starlight let Star get whatever she wanted, then ordered the same, expect she got everything on hers and a strawberry shake; Starlight had a bit of a sweet tooth.
Starlight waited for their food, while Start got them a table, which didn't take to long. Once she got their order, she went to look for Star, finding her waiting at a table. "Alright dear, here's dinner, eat up. So, what made you want to eat out tonight?"

"No reason. I just wanted to spend time with you mama. We don't get to do much together anymore since we're both so busy with the show and all.....I thought we could spend some time together." Star said sweetly before taking a sip of her water and started to eat her burger happily.
