▷ Personality:Altais is by no means sane. Because of what happened in his childhood, in his mind is a Demon that is barely held in check; one that constantly rages against Altais, trying to pull him into the recesses of his own head. He has become lost within heaving, raging hallucinations composed of nothing save for madness and frenzied psychosis several times, and it's a constant fight to be aware of his surroundings. Altais is very loyal to those who earn his trust. However, he does not ally himself with those who do not benefit him. He will remain by someone's side, protecting them, catering to them, and assisting them for as long as he sees fit as long as they are loyal to him in return. But if one becomes his enemy, his is cruel, cunning, and completely ruthless.
Altais prefers to stay away from most people, and when he meets someone for the first time, he's generally standoffish and aloof. Strangers make him nervous, as he's slow to trust, and calculating threat is always forefront in his mind. However, he can be quite intimate with the very few he does have faith in. He is emotionally intimate with those he knows. He might always be in a constant state of physical contact: shoulder touching shoulder, a hand on the back or forearm, or something of the sort. Most often, though, it is one of vocal intimacy. He speaks to those he trusts as if they are the only person in the world, as if they are the sole being that exists for him, which make it far easier for him to manipulate them in the future when the need arises.
▷ History:Once the Prince of the Royal Family, Altais went into hiding immediately after the Calamity, as the few surviving Mages were hunting those even remotely related to the Nobles. The fifteen year old took to the streets, dodging murderers, rapists, and slavers. As Altais had no home, he made his living on the streets: stealing, killing for a coat or bread, running from anyone who wanted anything he had, and sleeping under awnings or in sewers. One day, he was being chased by a trio of men who wanted to capture him and sell him to a brothel. He had given them the slip after sustaining a ragged cut across the ribs, several broken bones, and losing the small pittance he had been saving his entire life in order to leave the city.
Dejected and hopeless, Altais had made for a large, splendid house which had a side-porch. He had hoped to spend the night on the doorstep on the side of the house, as it had a small awning over it to keep off the promised snow during the dark hours, but before he made it, he passed out from blood loss and exhaustion. When he awoke, he found out a man named Alston owned the manor and had graciously taken him into the household. Altais grew close to the man who was in fact a Demon in disguise. This man, by the name of Alston, took Altais under his roof and gave the child his name. To Altais, Alston seemed to be only on his late twenties, and was a kind-hearted man, as well as his savior. Alston gave him a warm bed, food every night, and even an education in exchange for Altais' loyalty, to which the boy readily agreed. Alston became a brotherly-figure to the child, and Altais stayed in the house for four years until he found out who and what Alston really was.
Alston took Altais to a laboratory, and it was there that Altais found out he was one of the last surviving Mages. Alston forced him into a cage and Summoned a Demon from the Seventh Circle, and Altais and the Demon were fused together, both losing their own individual identities and gaining a new one. The only way in which Altais differs from a true Demon is that he has a small shred of humanity and conscience left within him; while a Demon would have no trouble killing a child to feed, he could not bring himself to do so.
Two months later, Altais tried to kill Alston, and though he succeeded, his former mentor permanently blinded him with his death spell. Altais spent the next few months at the manor, learning how to cope with this new disability, and left the house soon after. He made a name as a notorious Assassin in Kireva, and most of his jobs were killing off the rest of the Mages, ensuring a second Calamity would never come to pass. Of course, Altais himself was Skilled, but he hid it from any and all he met.

▷ Weapons: ↳ He wields two blades on his hip. One is a slim rapier with an elaborate hand-guard, and the other is a short, curved foreign blade. ↳ Altais always carries around various potions, poisons, and powders. He keeps them in the ever-present pouches and satchels strapped to his three belts. ▷ Abilities / Skills: ↳ One of Altais' strongest points is that he can manipulate others without any sort of effort. He can easily seduce others into his way of thinking, or can influence their thoughts and actions with small, seemingly-insignificant comments, and they're none the wiser. He takes much joy in putting things into motion and watching how they unfold when he gets bored. ↳ If Altais removes the blindfold around his eyes and someone meets his gaze and holds it for longer than a few seconds, they're drawn into the young man's mind and assaulted with raving, terrifying hallucinations. Eighty percent of the time, the victim becomes lost in their madness, and if they don't die outright, they live out their lives as nothing more than an empty, drooling shell. Altais uses it very rarely, as he sees, hears, and feels exactly what the victim does. While it won't shatter his own mind, Altais fears the Madness more than anything else, and only removes his blindfold when his life is in danger.

▷ Extra / Other:Altais wears his Ring of Office around a chain on his neck, which he lets hardly anyone see, as it proves he was once the Prince of Kireva. Any who have seen it have earned his trust, and know that Altais will kill them without second thought if they ever divulge his true identity. To this day, he still seeks any living relatives that might have survived, but as yet, he has had no luck in finding them.
