(This is an ORP that takes place after the RAID - Stag Party
This is taking place in the Kalos base after the mission. All Rockets who wish to join way participate. please read first post for the conditions of how your Rocket could have gotten to Kalos)

The moment the Kodo HQ had received a message from the Kalos base, detailing their mission success and the state of the mission, an order was issued to send out a larger jet manned by volunteers from the HQ to provide a more comfortable journey home for its injured Rockets.

In Kalos, the Rockets had been rushed back to base, the night had passed and injuries had been treated by the native Rockets, allowing visitors to visit by the next morning, even for the most critically of injured Rockets, with the acceptation of being allowed to see KO's body. Visiting Rockets were given a room with enough cots and beds to rest on while they waited for their ride home, and free reign of the Kalos Base.
Upon arrival the Elite's were quick to secure the quick ball containing Xerneas. For security reasons none of the Rockets under the rank of Elite were told where it was taken.

Michiko looked at the size of the Kalos base as soon as they landed and got here. Some Rocket Members have been on a mission that required a bit more man power then normal ones. Once she heard they needed volunteers on helping the aftermath, she signed up.

She wasn't very experienced but she was hoping to get a feel of what it is like after a mission to get some insight on what it probably was like on the mission itself. Already she could tell there was chaos and....something else.It felt like a cold silence on a cloudy day but she couldn't put her finger on it.

She instinctively went to the pokeballs she had on her. THIS time, not knowing what to expect, she had a full team with her. She had Snap, Zacharel, Morrigan, Ibarra, Oktavia, and even her companion pokemon, Desu.

Her mind wandered too long on the uneasy feeling and she snapped out of it. Not wanting to get in trouble, she jostled the pack on her back and went inside, ready to settle down her stuff and follow orders on what must be done.

Their arrival at the base had been chaotic. He had to admit however that it had been quite efficient chaos, the badly wounded were whisked away at speed and then the rest of them followed for assessment. Fortunately his own injuries had been mild enough that once he had been assessed he had been allowed to go and shower before they were dealt with, he would have had serious complaints had they kept him waiting on that.

Once showered and treated Frost had checked briefly on Tambery - who he thought well of - before heading off to explore the base a little before sleep. All in all, he considered, the mission had been a mixed success. They had achieved their primary objective but unfortunately their encounter with the Champion would mean that identifying details were passed on to the police. There was also the matter of the dead grunt of course; Frost had gathered that he was rather a skilled chemist, and considered it unfortunate that if any of the grunts had had to die it had been one with useful skills.

Frost did not share these thoughts with anyone else; he was socially clueless but not that clueless. Most people place an innate value on human life, a sentiment he couldn't seem to share but one he knew was deeply ingrained in most.

Come the morning Frost had showered again, dressed in the clothes they provided to him - brand new, he had checked - and headed back towards the infirmary to see how the rest of the mission team was doing today.

Agent Aulus had been a silent, brooding presence on the flight over from Kodo. He paced the jet intermittently like a caged animal, the powerful muscles in his shoulders and arm visibly tense. When he was sitting down he alternated between tapping away on his 'dex (probably nobody on the plane would guess that he was practising Python), fiddling with the metal abutment sticking out of the stump of his right arm, and allowing the young white and yellow eevee he had with him to tussle with his hand. He smiled at the eevee's antics at times and though the expression softened his hard scarred features a little it didn't warm his eyes or lessen the tension in his body.

All attempts at conversation had been met with a dark red-eyed glare and a curl of his lips.

Aulus was a worried man. They were no honour parade sent to escort the successful team back in style, they were here to pick up the pieces of a mission that - for all that it had achieved its original objective - had gone badly wrong.

As soon as their jet touched down at the Kalos base Aulus called his eevee back to its pokeball and headed inside. After gathering some directions he went to the room where they'd be sleeping to drop off his bag and from there he went on towards the infirmary, now carrying a smaller bag he'd taken out of the larger one.

Outside the infirmary he paused; he really hated these places, had seen far too much of them over the last year, and not knowing exactly what he was going to find inside only made it worse.

After a moment Aulus scowled at himself - get a grip man! - and stepped inside.

Ordinarily, Tambrey might have jumped at the chance to wander around and explore an unfamiliar base. To see if they might let her have any access to their labs... maybe even do some work if she were given clearance.

Not this time. For one, she /had/ been injured; perhaps remarkably little considering the situations the team had faced, but still her left ankle was bandaged, a little higher up her right leg was bandaged too, and her midriff had a bandage encircling it, covering a burn pad on her left side.
At least her arms and head seemed to be pretty much untouched.
Old scars could be glimpsed where the coverings ended, as only new wounds were covered up.
Clad in a black tanktop and long shorts, provided after someone had helped her clean herself up, her zigzag scars on her legs were, mostly on her left leg, were pretty visible.
She sat on a bed, staring ahead, rather obviously thinking hard about something, or lost in her own thoughts anyway, distracted from whatever was going on around her. Whatever thoughts she was lost in didn't look very happy either.

---~~~---

Clancy was bandaged over just about every inch. Even his face was partially covered, and his red hair stuck about all over the place. He was in a bed that was obscured by curtains, and, unless one purposefully looked in on him, he wouldn't be visible. It didn't seem like he was about to regain consciousness too soon.

Once inside the infirmary it didn't take Aulus long to spot his partner and hurry over. "Tam, you're in one piece!" She looked alright - mostly alright - and thank Gods for that. Of everyone on the mission he'd worried most about her, simply because she was his partner and he felt as though if she was risking her neck he ought to be right there beside her but for rather obvious reasons that hadn't been possible. It was nearly ready now though, they'd promised him that.

Aulus grabbed a chair, sat down, and had been about to carry on down the light-hearted line of being in one piece vs losing body parts but then he looked at her face and stopped himself. "Err...." What exactly had happened? There were beds closed off by curtains around the place.

Feeling rather at a loss for what to say next Aulus set the bag he'd brought along on the floor, reached into it, and pulled out a large bar of chocolate. "I didn't have time to go shopping or anything but I brought you this." He smiled hesitantly at her, his smile faded, he glanced about and then lent in a little, dropping his voice as he asked; "...How are you?"

Hm? Wait. What?
Aulus was /here/? How... When did that happen? Oh... Right, she'd probably been told or heard volunteers would be coming but she just, for some reason, hadn't expected Aulus to come along. She hadn't expected to see him until they got back to Kodo.

"Um." She nodded. She was. She hurt a lot, but yes, she supposed she was in one piece. "Promised." The scientist answered, with a swallow and a quirk of the lips upward; confirming she'd kept it. "I'm..." Well, she'd already answered that right? She was in one piece and talking to him.
Rather than continue that answer, she chose an explanatory couple of words.
"Kirk's dead."
PostPosted: Tue Jun 16, 2015 1:29 pm
"What?" He had to think for a bit to work out who she meant but an image came to mind soon enough; red-haired guy, worked in the labs somewhere, always smirking, kind of hot but too slick for his taste, tailored his uniforms, had been working with Tam lately....

And dead.

"Oh." Aulus looked down at the floor as he tried to think of something helpful to say. There wasn't anything really. He remembered Alia's death, flying all the way home from the Machine with her body. He hadn't even really known her all that well but that had been....

He looked back up at Tambery and hesitantly reached out to put his hand on her shoulder. "I'm sorry." Not a lot else you could say really was there? They all lived dangerous lives, sure, but somehow it was still a shock to hear somebody was dead. Dead was probably about the only thing Team Rocket couldn't fix; people came back from grievous injuries, and if you lost an arm they could make you a new one, but dead was... well, it was dead.

Eventually Aulus gave up on thinking of anything else to say right now and gave Tam's shoulder a gentle squeeze.

"Kirk's dead." Tambrey repeated when Aulus asked 'what'. She nodded when he said 'oh'.
At least he hadn't asked 'who'; she thought that would probably have been really hard to answer at that moment, while she was still processing the fact that he'd died at all.
She might have been sharing in the same memories but it was probably hard to tell; Aila's death had been traumatic because 'being a Rocket' had seemed like a bit of a game until that point. Now she'd actually lost someone she'd gotten to know. Someone she enjoyed working with, and the company of.
Dead was dead, and something that couldn't be fixed. That was, perhaps, one of the worst things about it- that someone being dead didn't have a solution to pursue.

She leaned forward, stiffly, and wincing, when Aulus squeezed her shoulder. A one-armed hug was probably quite awkward, plus her burn, but she'd not reached the thought when she decided she needed one from someone she trusted, and Aulus was right there.
"Just. He caught it, you know? And then gone..."
PostPosted: Tue Jun 16, 2015 3:12 pm
Aulus briefly thought about all the other people who were in the room.

He then thought 'Screw them,' and shifted to perch on the edge of Tam's bed so that he could wrap his arm around her and lean in close; it was as close as he could get to a hug with only one arm.

His next thought was 'How sodding ironic is it to catch the legendary of life and then die?' but he didn't voice that thought either. He did think about asking if it was anyone's fault in particular and if Tam would like them beaten up, but that didn't really seem appropriate either or at least not yet. He couldn't even say something like 'At least it was quick' because he didn't know what had happened. He wished he was good at stuff like this. Was anyone good at stuff like this? All he wanted was to make his friend not hurt but that wasn't within his power.

Hugs were good though right? At least he was here and she wasn't by herself....

Oh, well, that worked right?

"I'm here. I know it doesn't really help but... well, I am, and I'm sorry." He'd already said that. "I didn't really know him but I know you were friends so.... Yeah. I'm sorry." By Gods he was terrible at this. Perhaps he should just shut up and stick with the hug.

Perhaps surprisingly, especially given the rawness of the event and the very subject (death of a friend), Tambrey found that, actually, Aulus' being there did help, and voiced as much.
"It... does help a little..." She admitted; she wasn't supposed to feel guilty for feeling that was she? After all, she wasn't even very badly injured compared to a lot of the group and yet she was feeling grateful for the comfort her partner brought.
She gave a sad smile as he apologized, then sighed and rubbed her face with her hands, pushing her glasses up as she did so. She'd have to fix them in a moment.
"We got attacked. We had Xerneas and we just... had to get back to the jet and um, all these pokémon... So many of them..."

Michiko was about to go to the infirmary until she heard muffled voices on the other side. She stepped back and stared at the door conflicted on what to do now. She wanted to help and tend to the injured, whether that by taking inventory, elevating a patients pain, or handling the paperwork, but it never occurred to her that people might be visiting. She cursed at herself as she turned to walk away.

Besides working in the labs, she also wanted to try her hand at doctoring any injured Rockets and pokemon but now is not the time. Maybe when people were eating...or better yet sleeping she might come back and devote her time with nobody none the wiser.

Instead, she headed to the labs. Maybe she can help work on equipment or something

When he rounded the corner that would take him to the infirmary Frost almost walked into a young woman with dark hair.

The blond agent stopped dead and looked her up and down appraisingly: a trainee in her early twenties, she had added little flares of 'personality' to her uniform. It seemed that he and she were of a height, she stood taller than he but her uniform boots had a heel whereas his did not. Blue-black hair, pink eyes, and all in all somewhat familiar.

What Michiko was faced with in turn was a small man with a slightly chubby build who looked to be somewhere in his early thirties. His pale blond hair was immaculately neat, as was his Agent's uniform - the jacket was longer than standard - and his pale blue eyes were cool and calculating. There was also a livid bruise on the left side of his face and a small dressing on the right side of his forehead.

"You are from the Kodo base," Frost said; it was not a question, it was a flat statement in cool British tones. "I was given to understand that a jet was being sent, I did not expect it to arrive quite so soon however." She was leaving the infirmary, yet she couldn't have been here very long. Frost looked past her and then back at her. "Were you asked to leave? Or you have you finished conducting your business..." This was the wrong phrasing. "You have finished visiting?" he amended. Perhaps she had come to see the dead grunt and had just discovered she had wasted a trip?

Michiko bumped into someone and without looking immediately apologized. "I am so sorry." As see looked, slightly down instead of up at a man who seem to be older than her by the looks of it. Pale blond hair neat as well las his agent uniform, a but on the round side....and she had to admit, nice blue eyes. Which she can't help, blue is her favorite color.

When the man spoke to her. She nodded and answered. "Yes sir. I believed that we left as soon as possible with as many volunteers."

"Ah." She asked uneasy. "No sir, I hardly know anyone. It seems that other people are visiting the infirmary and I didn't want to disturbed them. I was going to help render first aid or any aid for that matter but..decided on a better time." She was a bit uneasy, she had talked to trainees and grunts but she hardly talked to someone higher up.

She looked at his face, then realized that he had a bruise and a small dressing on the side of his face. "Were you looking for some first aid, sir? I can help you if you need it."

Frost tilted his head to one side, a faintly bemused expression on his face. "You have medical training? That will make choosing your department easy when you are promoted I suppose but to answer your question I was not, our injuries were treated when we arrived yesterday. I was given to understand that rockets were dispatched from HQ on compassionate grounds not to render practical assistance; the infirmary here is not understaffed. I believe some of my comrades have been... somewhat disturbed by the events of the mission, hence the call to HQ for volunteers to make the trip back more comfortable."
