And shepherds we shall be...
So I saw that there used to be a Fallout oriented RP on here, but it seems to have died and I was thinking about bringing a new one to life. It would be open world and open to everyone, but it would be set in the USA, specifically the state of Virginia (just to keep everyone relatively close for interactions sake). No profiles would be needed and a lot of the combat would be against NPCs (unless someone wanted to be a bad guy in disguise wink )
Here is what I have so far:
The year is 2525 and Earth is a floating cinder. The world as we once knew it has fallen apart. After a century of fighting between rival countries, both sides finally decided to launch their nuclear weapons. Every country on the planet was destroyed and billions of people were killed. All that remains are the few hardy survivors that managed to find adequate shelter to hide from the explosions and radiation. Less than five percent of the human population survived the initial blast and those that made it face a harsh and desolate wasteland.
All of the creatures that managed to survive have been mutated beyond recognition and now roam the land in search of whatever food they can scavenge.
You are a survivor. You must forge your way through this world and find a way to rebuild civilization. The obstacles ahead of you are steep and terrifying. You will be facing:
1. Lack of water- Most of the water you come across in the world will be irradiated to some extent.
2. Violent survivors- Trust is more difficult in these days than anything else as there is no law and order outside of the small settlements you come across and even there the law is in the hands of those that dwell there.
3. Vicious creatures- Everything in the world is hostile and wants to kill you.
4. Lack of ammunition- Guns are cheap, ammunition is expensive.
5. Lack of food- Anything found outside of settlements (or abandoned cities) will most likely be irradiated or spoiled.
6. Hostile terrain- Large bodies of water will be irradiated, forests will be leveled, most terrain will be rocky and difficult and offer very little shade from the scorching sun.
7. Barter- Money holds no value; only what you carry is worth.
The setting for this adventure will take place in the state of Virginia. You may start your character anywhere within the state (maps are available online) and you may take liberties with the NPCs, but please make it realistic. No one in this world is going to give you anything for free. If you don't think you can be unbiased with your NPC, ask someone else to RP them for you. Please keep the RP within the state boundaries to simplify things.
