[Foxi Doll]

There are many layers to life and the energies therein. Some call them heaven and hell, nirvana, or the afterlife. Some fear there is nothing beyond the shedding of the flesh, that all we are simply ceases to exist once our bodies expire. This just isn't so. Energy doesn't just disappear, it merely transfers.

This is the story of some such energies, transferring from one state of existence to another. Their stories, triumphs, failures and acceptances all building on the understanding of one simple thing. They are dead. And there's no going back.

Rules

Not many really, cause the characters are dead, so you can't really kill them. Not super strict on the length either, cause it'll be pretty fast paced action fun. Just enjoy the madness that ensues. If you are worried about something, just ask. OOC: anything you want to talk about outside of the story. And you can make posts pretty if you like, just make sure we know who you are talking to or about. Especially if you have more than one character. Like change the color or something. Yay, moving on! And lastly, I'm required to tell you no cybering, but honestly this is an adventure rp, so I don't think it'll really be an issue.

"It's not what you think, It's not what you think!" Churro darted from person to person, hoping that someone, anyone would hear her. But all she got in the crowd of spirits were a few mutters as she was jostled around. Yelping when her tail was stepped on, she looked at all the unfamiliar faces, looking for the culprit. Everyone here, all of them. They were dead, they just didn't know it.

It was like they were waiting, but she couldn't say for what, or even where. Everyone looked equally lost, or confused. Many looked out with misted eyes of defeat and indifference. No one felt the pang of fear that she did. That whatever was to come next was not what they would be expecting. And yet, the crowd still slowly trudged on, dragging her along whether she wanted to go or not. Slowly onward, towards the light.

"No, I don't wanna go. Help!" she cried in desperation.

Wulfy heard the voice screaming for help and he himself was afraid, it was like he was the only one aware of what was going on, until he heard her that was. He quickly climbed the person's back in front of him and scanned towards the voice seeing an otter struggling to get free so he started to run towards the her using the others heads and shoulders as he tries to get to her.

After reaching the otter he grabs her and holds her in one arms trying to get away from the massive group. "See a way out?" He asks the new person.

She heard someone else screaming, which both relieved and scared Hazel. At least she wasn't the only one who was more than just a....ghost, a shell. The fear it stirred in her made her move against the crowd. Spotting a black wolf saving the screaming one, she scanned their surroundings. Wherever they were, all she knew was that they shouldn't go towards the light.

"This way!" Hazel screamed, flailing her arms to try and get the wolf's attention. It was hard, since Hazel was slightly shorter than he rest of the people. Jumping up and down, she pointed away from the light where everyone else was going.

Churro clung to the wolf that lifted her above the crowd. Her survival instincts were so strong that she almost bit him, but she stopped mid motion when he spoke to her. Wolves never really spoke with otters, preferring to gobble them up when the opportunity presented itself. But we are dead, she reminded herself. We don't have to eat each other anymore.

So instead of gnawing on his leg like she had wanted, she instead looked above the sea of creatures for an oasis of sorts, a spot where the crowd was not so thick and the light not so bright.

"That way!" she answered when the bobbing head of a squirrel caught her eye. Pointing to the left where an invisible fork was beginning to form, creating a clear space in the tide of wandering spirits.

Wulfy only nods and starts heading towards the squirrel. Grabbing her and holding her now in his other arm he starts to look around for a way out, as he now heads away from the light. "Where are we heading ladies?" He asks not knowing where they even are. The position he found himself in was odd, as these were creatures he would normally hunt, not help.

"I don't even know where we are. I don't know where to go if I don't know where I am." Hazel shrugged. Being so close to a wolf made her hair stand up, since wolves occasionally went for squirrels. Looking over towards the otter, she gave a small wave.

With a speed that would have been frightening had they been alive the wolf plucked the squirrel up. She didn't much like being toted around like this, but she supposed it was better than being carried around in his jaws. Twisting in his arms, she pulled her fluid body around his chest so that she could hoist her upper body higher on his shoulders to get a better look around. Her chest pressed against his face as she scanned the endless expanse of dark nothingness and the nearly endless stream of spirits that wandered either towards the light or off into the darkness alone.

"There, I see a tree. Head for that!" Churro pointed to the edge of the darkness, where indeed a large leafless oak stood vigil. Its branches were twisted and gnarled, but it looked strong and ageless as it stretched out to impossible heights.

Rick had no idea where he was. All he knew is that there were spirits moving all around him heading in the same direction. Hearing people yelling out and the running of feet, Rick turned his head.

Noticing some people wandering off, Rick felt something telling him to follow them. His tail swaying behind him, Rick ran after the people staying slightly behind. Soon a tree came into vision and Rick smiled a bit, he loved trees, mostly climbing them, and this tree seemed to stretch on and on. It had no leaves and the branches where twisted giving the tree a strange shape.

Wulfy had heard something start to follow a bit of the ways back and noticed an iguana, he was probably just following them because it might lead to safety and hopefully he was right. Upon reaching the tree he had put the two down and leaned back against the tree waiting for the iguana to catch up as spirits continued on and on into the light, like a sea of never ending spirits.

He looked at the three and realized he was the only predator among them, a good yet bad thing. Good because he didn't need to worry about the others doing anything to try and harm him, but bad because now these three might not trust him or work with him even if he did just save their lives. Hopefully he was wrong.

As soon as they reached the base of the tree, the otter slipped her body out of the wolfs grasp and climbed up onto one of its massive roots. Her tail truck out straight behind her for balance as she walked up the incline to the trunk.

"It just goes on and on doesn't it?" she asked of no one in particular. Looking down at the wolf and squirrel, she noticed another approach. Walking back to the group, for lack of obtaining any other information, she perched just out of the wolfs reach. Not that she thought he'd eat her, more out of habit. Caution had got her this far, but then again, maybe it hadn't. The crowds of spirits continued on, disregarding them as if they could not see them.

"Why are we not like them? Or is it they are not like us?"

Once her feet had touched the ground, Hazel was already off of it again, climbing the trunk with agility and grace. Reaching a bough not too high above the others, though she dearly wished that she could try and see just how high the tree went. Looking down, she noticed an iguana approaching them. It wasn't that she distrusted the others, but rather she was most comfortable in a tree and not much on the ground.

"Maybe both. Maybe we're not like them because they're not like us. Why d'ya suppose that? It's weird, don't cha think? Of all the people, why are we the only ones to be...." Hazel trailed off, making hand guest urges towards the other spirits passing them by. If her rambling bothered the others, she didn't notice.

Rick wasn't sure if the group was actually talking to him or not, but he made his way over to the tree, running a hand gently over it before he climbed up into it's branches. He laid down on one of the branches he found, content to be back up in a tree. He wanted to climb higher but at the same time he was curious about the people he had felt drawn to. Without really thinking Rick spoke "I have no idea, honestly it could be just about anything." he said not really to anyone in particular and his eyes shut a bit. Oddly enough the tree felt comforting to him despite its appearance. One squirrel, one otter, and one wolf... odd group Rick thought to himself, but dropped the thought shortly after, he wasn't one to judge people.
