He would take a few steps into the town yet noticed that the doors were locked and people were keeping to their houses, not wanting to be out at this time at night. Eiji took a whiff of the air and nearly gagged, it smelled like the inside of Gamabunta's a**s...don't ask how he knows that. The genin would await for his fellow members to arrive in order to continue on foot together, though it would seem odd that Eiji would made his way here instead of somewhere inside of Otogakure like the bar or the shrine. This didn't seem like the #1 hot spot for meeting up and completing a mission which was what he was on currently. Hopefully what he does here on the field would be seen in the eyes of the higher ups and maybe get him a few nice perks in the long run. So there he would wait, hoping no scandalously clad pretty boys in armor with whips would come running around breaking boxes and walls apart to eat discarded pieces of chicken to heal up. That would be weird.

Mocking Bird Samurai

Aleksandr
Salt Chronicles Part II

Is That A World Tour or Your Girl's Tour?

"You takin' a piss?! You little s**t!" From somewhere in Scarlett a loud commotion could be heard. The rain made it difficult to pin point the exact location, but the moment someone saw a man being flung out of his own window. Aleksandr was not one to wait around on other people showing up and he had seen his own detective work back in the day, so he decided to take a head start before everyone. The people of the small town, however were not compliant even if he used his Samaran gifts. They truly knew nothing and that infuriated Aleksandr. Jumping out the window to stand over the fallen man who attempted to limp away, Aleksandr pointed at the man's wife and child looking down at them from the gaping hole. "You see that?! They're gonna be next if you don't open your fat mouth! What did you see that!" The man covered his face with both arms. "I can't! It's watching! I can't say anything now leave me and my family be!" The man cried. His child did as well. Or maybe it was his wife. Aleksandr didn't care to check. Squatting down to level with the man, Aleksandr whispered. "I can't wait for the look on your face when it comes for you. And you know. You know deep down inside. That you could've saved them." He added pointed at the wife and child. Getting up to walk away, Aleks said, "I'll patch up the hole after this whole issue is dealt with. If you make it out alive that is." He could hear the man running back to him home.

Sitting in the rain he waited for his squad. Oga was part of it. That would be a treat. Being on missions with that square took out the fun in just about everything, but they did work well together. The other members were a mystery. Aleks had a list, but he wouldn't be bothered to check. "********' scrubs. Only one I give a s**t about is Oga and that's not a whole lotta shits." He mumbled to himself. He had no umbrella or jacket so he just sat on a box in the middle of the rain. Everything he had completely drenched. It didn't bother him. Finally, someone broke the boredom that had become of the village. A cloaked figure emerged. Presumably part of his crew. Or it could have been the killer. "Where the ******** is my sword?" He asked himself moving his hand around the other side of the box. His enormous red sword was still there. His hammer/axe weapon thing was slung around his neck. He just woke up one morning and it was there. It wasn't as good as his sword, but it did bust a nut pretty efficiently. "Well if it isn't the ********' cavalry?!" Aleks shouted breaking the rain's established dominance over the village.

You Still Ain't Do s**t Bout The Other One...

Kya strolled down the streets alone, no weapons on her person, no combat ready uniform. She wore a robe, tied around the middle by an obi. She didn't wear shoes as she never did; stepping on glass was nothing compared to the sharp jagged ice that touched most of the north. She was comfortable in 50 degree weather. It was so warm for her. Not being able to see her breath was warm regardless of how cool it was. This night however, even though she felt like she was on a beach in just a kimo and undergarments, a chil ran up her spine. One thing about Kya is that she never got chills. She knew the town. Scalaret was well within her sphere of influence, mostly her drugs ran through here, drugs and her extortioners. This was one of few towns where the well kept secret of Lady K wasn't so secret. People knew to keep their mouths shut or they'd end up missing. Hell this superstition might have started with something she herself ordered to happen. But it was starting to impede on her business out here so Kya had gotten all dolled up to go see what was going on.

She kept a very basic outlook on the place. It was night time and people were too scared to be out at night. Her feelers were all over the pace usually and today they were all shut in as well. She stepped up the stairs to one of her most loyal men's homes. She could feel him inside the home, where he was but not his mood. She sighed and slammed her knuckles into the door with three loud raps. "Moriarty. Open the door." Kya yelled at him. She waited a moment or two before realizing he wasn't moving. "I kicked in my daughter's door without any kind of warning. Open up. Now." He got down the stairs pretty quickly before she actually made good, much to her joy. She smiled at him as he looked around and invited her in. Kya waded into the nice bachelor pad, sitting down on a large chair beside a fireplace. She eyed him, staring directly into his own dull circular lenses as he took a seat. She looked at the table opposite him, seeing a needle there, empty. She looked at his arm, no sign of any punctures but he was a bit strung too. She got up quickly and spun, snapping her heel into his chin. He groaned as he rolled backwards, the first sound he had made. "Mori, I told you not to give my merchandise away for free. You giving my drugs to my escorts?" Kat asked as he got up, picking up the chair and table in a scramble. "No, I mean just a couple of times I'm sorry!" She sighed. "Listen. I don't believe in all this serial killer s**t, but I do believe this town has enough white gold flowing in and out that I COULD be losing whole packages in the wood. This wouldn't be an issue if it wasn't creating JUNKIES." He rubbed his jaw as he sat back down and nodded. "I am aware, and in fact I've been tightening this stuff up. We sell sparingly to keep things in Otogakure and Oto no kuni less bad, but we ship out larger sums to dealers everywhere else. I lose money when we lose packages." Kya nodded knowingly. It was her business model. "Have you been putting loose ends on ice?" He nodded. "So the killings ramping up might be you using the superstitions of the people to keep your dealers in line. Someone steals from us and you leave a mess similar to our 'killer.' Probably a family member, maybe they themselves." He was quiet. "It's a stupid idea and it's stating to cost me more. Open your mouth what made this seem like a good idea?" "Kingpin... I haven't ordered anyone die. I mean... I've moved people around and cut some people off sure. But I have only ordered or actually killed a handful. Not enough to spark this, mi'lady." Kya sat back, gripping her chair. "What DO you know then Moriarty." She would rise from her seat and breath a black fire into the fireplace. It roared to life and she would place her hands on her hips, furrowing her brow. "I got an official directive to come here, and my own vested interests are admittedly high. Tell me something." He had nothing. He sat back and produced a bottle of wine from beside his chair. "I'm sorry. Even I'm frightened by this happening. I don't know what else to I can say." Kya nodded and walked back towards the door. "Next time I visit and you don't answer the ******** door right away, you'll be the one missing." She stepped abck to the streets, leaping and landing on the roof and took a seat, which was around the time Aleks was threatening the man. She yawned as he and Eiji met up. She was enjoying the silence of the rain but his voice penetrated that well enough. "Not the calvalry boy. We aren't riding horses. And we also aren't at war. Im starting to think whatever this is, it isn't real." she called down skeptically. High up as she was, they'd here the boom of her voice like the sound of her dragon booming across the streets.

"This is... A sticky situation." He was used to saying things like that, but it was more for the fun things then murder-stab-stab stuff. When he got assigned to this work, he was in between "jobs" so it couldn't have been more perfectly timed. He didn't like this kind of missions, however. Sebastian wasn't big on seeing what was wrong with the world, instead he liked to tangle around the sheets because it felt right. He became a shinobi to pay the bills for his sister and himself, and now that she was out of the way he was thinking about quitting all together.

The scene before him was like this: There were several bodies, all inside a single house so he could easily assume the victims knew each other. A family, friends, something close like that. They all were cut up by a sharp object, and it was hard to recognize them. There were no signs of remorse, because of the way the bodies were left. Exposed, disgruntled, unmarked. The killer was narrowed down to psychotic or very angry, at least in his mind. After looking at the crime scene, he went to join the others.

He had come several minutes before the rest, just so he can get a grip on what was there before anyone could cloud his judgement. "What do you mean, it isn't real?" Sebastian heard what Kya was saying as he walked up, an eye brow raised and wiping his hands slowly. "Tell that to the real victims on the floor inside. Whatever did this wasn't human, or wasn't in the right mind of one." What was she doing on the roof? Was she trying to look cool? There was nothing cool about the situation they were in, they were all drenched with rain and about to be covered in blood if they do their investigation right. "Masako is coming right? We need a medic..." Especially one like her. It was either they were early, or the others were late. Either way, it left him impatient and full of energy.

"I've been here the whole time fuzzknuckle. You people take ages to walk anywhere, how do you stand it?" Masako said, sitting on the window sill. In truth, she had been on the roof for what felt like hours, passively sensing the comings and goings off the town. Several blocks over, a large warehouse was the center of activity in town. By day it masqueraded as an upscale pharmaceutical company known as Yamashi Industries, a subsidiary of a much larger company in Otogakure. At night however, it served as a major distribution warehouse for drugs in the region. It was mostly child's play, and quite a few of the formulas were based on Masako's own research. She didn't much care what became of her notes, especially the harmless ones that involved psychotropic hallucinogenics. When the rumors of the bodies first started appearing, Masako had in fact thought that it was just a bunch of druggies on a really bad trip, but as rumors continue to spread and police reports began to appear, it was anything but. She had hoped to arrive soon enough to catch the next attack in person, but seemed to have just missed it. When she scanned the room with the current bodies, they were so fresh that chakra was still slowly oozing out into the air. That meant a fresh kill, and that meant a killer was still in the city at the very least.

Masako slid off the window sill, walking through the pools of blood, examining the cuts and the arrangement of the bodies. After a few minutes of looking, she rose and delivered her verdict. "Most likely the work of one man. The weapon of choice, a sharp blade, most likely a tanto or katana. Judging by the cuts, I would put money on katana." She walked back to the window, poking her head out into the cool night, turning to face Kya. "You sure this isn't one of your enforcers hyped on that new formula I gave you. I told, half a pill, snorted or smoked, not injected." While they usually kept their businesses separate, if Masako came across a particularly addictive and entrancing drug, she would make sure that Kya got the first bid in. It was usually favor for favor though. Kya would get drugs, Masako... other things.

Leaving the window, Masako returned to the carnage. For added effect, she slowly began walking up the wall and eventually onto the ceiling. Different viewing angles and s**t, you know, look outside the box.

Oga had arrived into the town, it was raining, Oga enjoyed the rain, it made fights beautiful. He knew what he was meant to do, Aleks had made his way here before him but Oga took his time walking here, not ber excited for a mission with so many people, never the one to work in big groups. Oga would walk towards the group, he was all wet. Hearing only the last few words of the conversation, he was not about to interfere with whatever they were talking about, he would Nod towards the people, he knew none of them which was not the best of things, they were about to have the worst team behavior of their entire lives in this mission, least Aleks was there, they can work pretty well together and half of Oga hoped that they others knew each other for he did not really trust any of them, the samurai would stand far from the group but close enough for them to know he was one of them. Oga would look down at his feet, picking up one of the pieces of the body, examining the cut he could tell it was made by a katana he had seen many before, a light and precise cut, the blade itself very sharp, obviously the owner cared for it's blade. "Did you guys care to ask the towns blacksmith?" Oga would say throwing away what looked like to be part of a arm, the blacksmith might have an idea of people that would have asked for a weapon that was capable of cutting so precisely.

Eiji would raise up his hand softly and say, "I did talk to the town's blacksmith before I walked over here. As well as inspected the trail that was left by our so called serial killer. The blade was strong sturdy, able to withstand multiple swings and not so much as to dull the blade. It was pristine and blood was easy to slide off of the blade, but of course, evidence can always be left behind. Instead of one sword being the culprit, i suspect that it could be many blades, but no knives or daggers whatsoever. This was the work of a samurai. I went to the blacksmith after inspecting the trail and asked for the last purchases made within the last 24 hours as well as got information regarding their addresses. Simple interrogation can single the numbers out and find out who the culprit is, but the interrogation needs to be made with finesse and tact." Eiji was pacing back and forth before stopping before the group as he pulls out a very stationary page with the seal of the blacksmith on it including names and addresses on the sheet. As follows:

                                                                                      Yujiro Oda | W 82 Miles Lane | Kodachi

Maliudex stumbled up the cobble steps into the small home. Drenched in rain and miserable, he had half a mind to become a serial killer himself; his better judgement told him this was wrong. Going to the wrong side of town was misfortunate but also helpful in determining both the layout of the city and identifying the location of all previous killings. Hearing the last of the conversation Maliudex decided to comment. ”I agree. Splitting into groups lets us cover the most ground at a time and contact them around the same time. While one person might be doing the killings there is nothing saying that he isn’t getting help from an outside person, who would insist that he leave the village. It would probably be good if we have sight of all major entrances and exits to the town.” Stopping, Maliudex hoped he hadn’t outspoken and would be fine with any group he was paired with. He eyed the remains of the body and wondered if weapon size would be of importance as well as if there was a pattern to the killings. However, it was imperative that they came into contact with one of these four first.

OOC: shhhh, I've been here the whole time

The man looked at his blood soaked hands, a feeling of satisfaction enveloping his very cognitive state of mind. Enter the mentality of this man, a broken shell of what he once was. What was he before, no one knows really, it's a withered corpse lying in the corner now. His old persona is now dusted with cobwebs, infested and abused. Dead. Or had he always been this way? It was unclear to him now. Regardless, he was something vile now. Something to fear. The man was now that thing under the bed that scared children at night. He was now the person in your closet, watching you sleep through the small crack. He was the creature that made those noises at night, the one's people said was 'the house settling'. The scariest part was his self awareness. The fact that the man knew what he was doing was wrong. Sometimes your best self, is your worst self. This man was the incarnation of evil, and he was aware of the fact. He wanted to nurture his insanity. But was he truly insane? People would like to think so. It was all theories with people nowadays. Killing the victim - often capturing him or her on film before the murder - is a form of exerting unmitigated, absolute, and irreversible control over it. The serial killer aspires to "freeze time" in the still perfection that he has choreographed. The victim is motionless and defenseless. The killer attains long sought "object permanence". The victim is unlikely to run on him, that's the theory anyway. But it all sounded so pretentious. People always wanted to put a label on something. Yes, he was killing people. Yes, he left there mangled limbs on the streets for others to find. Yes, he ravished in what they had nicknamed him: "The Samurai Serial Killer." But evenstill, he was holding himself back. None had seen what he was capable of. Not just yet.

His sword slid through his victim's neck, smashing through most of the cervical vertebrae. The wet metal cuts through muscle and cartilage, severing everything, and allowing a large flow of blood to waterfall down onto the cobblestone floors. It seeps into the cracks, gathering into a dark pool. The pool of red expands until it reaches the man's boots. The screams stopped, with a short gurgled screech to make for a period. A faint smile presented itself on the man's face. What was this? His tenth victim? Something like that. Until this very moment, no one has been sent to stop him. But he sensed something come into the village, a group of six. His eye twitched. Information like that was demanding, he'd have to bide his time, conceal himself within the shadows. Until an opportunity arose, he was forced to lay low. For what reason? To come up with a stunning way to play with his new toys. Not because he feared them, but because he was interested. He didn't even care if he died in the end, it was all for the experience.

A loud crack was made audible. His jaw unlocked, as he devoured the corpse before him. The crack of bones under the pressure of his huge teeth, the tearing of of veins and muscle. They say you should fear your fellow man the most, not the monsters who watch from the shadows. Your fellow man sits by you in class, he laughs at your jokes, he meets your gaze with a smile. The monsters are too chickenshit to do any of that. The man was an inverted human. His unconscious was his conscious. He acted out our most repressed drives, fantasies, and wishes. He provides us with a glimpse of the horrors that lie beneath the veneer, the barbarians at our personal gates, the creatures that lurk within, and what it was like before we invented civilization. He was not the devil. He was one of us. The man walks away from his meal, another hunger sated, he leaves an arm behind, and an explosive tag stuck to the ceiling. He scribbles something on the wall, fashioning blood as ink. His strokes are long and complex, scarlet red swivels.

                                                                  Here it comes.

The bomb explodes, alerting all in the area, a crowd gathers as it starts to rain, pouring in through the blown out roof. Smoke ascends to the heavens for all in the town to see. On the wall, for whoever to visit the house, it says:

One of you is pure evil. Care to guess which?

Mocking Bird Samurai

Aleksandr
Salt Chronicles Part II

Is That A World Tour or Your Girl's Tour?

Aleksandr got up from the crate bringing his hands up to pull his hair back. Water sliding down from his hands. The group of shinobi assigned for the mission was enormous. Ludicrous really when squads were supposed to composed of 3 including captain. But for what ever reason it was necessary to take down what ever was going on in the town. The moment Oga arrived, Aleksandr would walk towards, but stopped once he heard something from above. Pink haired shinobi, Masako sitting against window sills. Then the explosion. One of the members of the large a** group had begun talking about splitting up before it happened. So much for his strategy. Running towards the noise, the samaran reached the crowd of people gathered around something. Making his way through the man could finally see what the interest was. "Everyone get the ******** out!" Aleksandr shouted as he activated his byakugan. Who ever caused the explosion and wrote the message couldn't have gone to far. Anyone with a nickname with samurai in it would not have average civilian chakra. Looking around he tried to find anyone in the distance or nearby with a tell. "C'mon you ********!" He shouted

You Still Ain't Do s**t Bout The Other One...

Kya's eyes fell on the boy who had been inside with the bodies, dark orbs bearing no real indication of what she thought as she let the worm get out what she had to say to her. Kya saw the eyebrow raise and by the tone of voice it seemed as though Sebastion had a problem with what she had said. Contrary to the norm she decided she was going to go ahead and humor what he had said, even though stupid teenagers with their odd views tended to be thick skulled. "The people here fear some kind of actual monster, some ghastly being, is taking their lives. Like some kind of planned assault on their town by a paranormal force. It's a fair fear to have from their position. Im sure to those who have been under my dragon's clawed hands, I'm a monster too. But I saw the bodies, I gathered my own conclusion from it all as I'm sure you all did. I even spoke to a prominant figure in the town itself. A man did this. Maybe a woman, someone with a sword. And unlike monsters and demons, men die like tree leaves. This isn't even a problem worth two SS ranks. If we need a medic for this we should all just roll over." Each word had been carefully placed, used with just the right tone and her body languae was delivered similarly. She was not being antagonistic, but one could easily feel as though she was. She wasn't calling anyone out directly, but should someone feel offended it would only be because what she had said bore truth. The moment she was done speaking she looked away from the boy as if he hadn't even been there at all.

Masako had spoken next, and Kya smirked at her. What a lovely surprise. When Masako made her loud, blaring accusation Kya's face deadpanned and then turned into a sincere look of confusion. "Enforcers? Masako I have no idea what you are talking about. Im simply here to do the mission we were given." She had a reputation to keep up. "I haven't set any of my SEPIA agents here either, if that's what you mean. However, the new formula has been properly used and it works wonders. I forsee quite a good use for them." Ignoring Masako's breach of secrecy, Kya cleared her throat and looked over to Oga. She would shake her head in response to his question. "I didn't, but that doesn't seem to bad a plan." As for Eiji and Maliudex, before Kya could speak an explosion sounded off and Kya's left ear screamed at her for a second. She turned to look, seeing smoke rising into the air. She was moving within seconds, following Aleksandr's lead until he was inevitably slowed by the crowd. Kya leaped, clearing the distance easily and fearing no heat or smoke, right through the hole in the roof. She landed with a thud, her ability to sense Henrir being focused on as her dragon tattoo disappeared and her dragon, huge and menacing, released a nonthreatening gust of wind into the hole, blowing Kya's hair wild along with her clothing and clearing the fire and smoke. Unphased Kya wandered to the wall, ignoring the arm for the moment and looking at the message. "Well then. Our killer has a sense of humor..."
