Natural Ability: Frost Aura: When in his human skin, Harper emits a constant frosty mist around himself to keep cool away from his Arctic-type home. It reveals itself mostly as a shimmer on his hair and clothes, but if someone walks close enough to him, you can see their breath. It's something that he does without much thought, so it is also a hindrance at times if he lets the aura wander too far. It hasn't been uncommon for him to wake up from a little nap to see his entire room frosted over after a dream about home. Whoopsies~
Personality: Lethargic: Though he is young, Harper is used to much cooler climates than the Academy provides. Even with his Frost Aura to keep him cooled off, the warmer temperatures seem to drag the boy down, making him appear sleepy and slow more often than not. He's content to wander where others lead, often yawning and leaning back on his rather large tail to take the pressure off of his feet. This can be quite the good napping or thinking position...or, for waxed floors, a rather hard bump to the floor.
Thoughtful: When this Selkie is feeling warmer and content, it takes a lot for him to speak before he thinks out each word. Speaking his mind takes some time, if he ever does. Instead, he makes a great listener...provided you don't mind him possibly napping in the middle of your tale.
Sassy: If you manage to get this little Selkie wound up (or in particularly cool weather!), it's a whole different ball game. Hands on his hips, leaning forward to speak his mind, Harper is what could be termed a 'Sleeper Tsundere'. Get him riled, and you're asking for a piece of his mind whether you like it or not. He's quicker to grin when he's nice and cooled down - or heated, as the situation depends, and quicker to throw in ideas for fun and mischief...like taking the waxed hallways and tail-skating over the freshly done floors.
Playful: When he gets into the right mood (especially in the snow) there's no stopping this boil. All of the young kid in him tends to come out at once, and it's easy to find him playing rather childish games like hide and seek, or fun, harmless pranks on professors or other students.
HUNGRY!: Harper rarely eats…most of the time. His large tail stores up blubber much as a seal does, and his smaller, human form can feed off of it for quite some time. He nibbles, and then that’s enough. However, when he gets cooled off – or the Sleeper Tsundere in him strikes – the selkie can eat his tail’s weight and more with the voracious appetite that only young boils can muster.
Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? Harper's family comes from the further reaches in the mountains of Miasma village. After the parents began sending their children to the Academy, the Selkie's own parents decided that perhaps their young son could use the learning - after all, belly-sledding and fishing can only get one so far in life.
FEAR Ability: Earth-Shaker: (Swift Strikes) That large tail of his isn’t just for show. Though it makes a rather comfortable cushion, it can also deliver bone-breaking hits with stunning force. When his opponent is rendered immobile by the blow, those wicked claws come into play with a one-two strike.
Physical Description: Eye Colour: Solid, dark gray pupils with black sclera
Hair Colour/Style: Pale blonde at the roots, which darkens to a golden color at the tips. It's slicked back, hitting about shoulder length should it be down (or fresh out of the water!) and when it isn't, it fans out behind him almost like flippers.
Skin Colour: A lighter shade of tan
Clothing Style/Colours: White pants tucked into thigh-high decorated leather boots, colorful scarves wrapped around his waist. An Eskimo-like leather capelet covers narrow shoulders, rimmed with white fur. Large flipper-like gloves cover his hands and arms to above his elbows, finned with spikes and tipped with razor-sharp claws. (see reference)
Extra: Harper has a large tail nearly as big as he is, the only part of his selkie anatomy he can't form into his human shape. Underneath those fearsome clawed gloves that he wears he has almost human hands, but the fingers are completely webbed for swimming.
