 Rise & Shine :: Tribe ThreadFall was approaching and soon after would be winter. Rise had been through the passing of seasons in the swamp far too many times to be unprepared for what was to come, but he was surprised that their little enclave had grown so that they still had perishables remaining after stocking up for the cold. Rise decided then, that they would have a nice party open to all, staff and customers alike - to send summer off. Getting to know more kin was always good for their experiments and supply. By the night itself, it had morphed into a big evening bonanza of food, fire and stories. Little piles of twigs on mud, fenced in by stack of rocks, were lit by Rise and Co.'s hardworking salamanders. All around were soft piles of leaves for staff and customers to sit on. Nearby was a long rock laden with both preserved and freshly prepared foods - meat, fruits, long-simmered soups that filled both belly and soul. Occasional conches of fermented liquids made their rounds, adding to the cozy merriment. Rise loved the atmosphere. It felt like one huge, happy family. " Attention please!" He called, perched atop the highest rock. " Rise and Shine are very, very happy to have you with us for this lovely evening of food and fun. We have had a very productive spring and summer, and it has been a real pleasure working for and with you all.
On a night like this," and his gaze swept towards the full moon, " it reminds me of when I met my mate, Moonfrost-like-Ashes. I tell my children about it often." An audible groan from the long-haired blue-red contingent. "But tonight, I invite YOU to tell us your stories! Any stories at all - about you, others, from your life or imagination. Everyday tales, legends, or spooks! Whatever strikes your fancy to entertain all with.
Thank you all once again and Rise and Shine sincerely hope you have a great night." As he stepped down from the rock, he looked over the newest members of their beloved poultry flock. They'd had a particularly fine brood of chicks too pretty to slaughter and he had plans for them... |

The Friends :: Tribe ThreadIn the shrouded base that housed The Friends and their wards, a very important tribe meeting was taking place to the first strains of merriment drifting across the river. Terrible Charm was not quite convinced when Take the Watch had first proposed this insidious plan (not half, perhaps, because it was an insidious plan proposed by Take the Watch), but thoughtful agreement from Illumination had gradually, if hesitantly, swayed him to the idea, till, on the evening itself, he was standing atop the announcement rock: "The time now is yet for words. Walk secretly amongst their numbers, make no mention of your allegiances. When they ask for stories, then give them our stories, the best of our stories, our values, our credo. Speak eloquently, so that through our words alone, they may see the error of their wanton ways. Those who waver in their gluttony, then we may pull to our cause. Go forth, good soldiers! Sing out the songs of The Friends!" A well-timed, if good-naturedly confused distraction by Pointed Mercy on Take the Watch’s behest called Charm off, far enough that Take the Watch could confidently leap upon the newly vacated rock: " The less cryptic way of saying this is," the Totoma said, bounding up excitedly, " go forth and tell them stories that carry the kinship code of The Friends!" He reared, hoping for a cheer, before continuing for what he was VERY excited to show, his grand scheme. " And if you do well, you, my Friends, may get a little Friend of your very own..." He started to stamp his hooves in an increasingly intense beat, and let out a piercing whistle. A variety of bold, beautiful pets trotted out on cue: " Now go forth and conqu - er, convey the truth for a chance at these wonderful little ones!" A timely glare from Illumination produced the addendum: " - oh yeah, and for the sake of the truth, of course." |

The Friends' infiltration of the pleasant party has started a heated argument between the two once more. One of them believes in Rise & Shine's philosophy of happy excess, while the other has been swayed by the undercover Friends' warnings against greed,

All stories are to be told in RP-format, by one of your kin (or, for the My Story doe, a fictional kin if you have none)!
You may tell as many stories as you'd like, by as many kin as you'd like, and put as many as you'd like in the running for the kin and pets; stor(ies) may be edited any time before the event ends.
You may use the same story, different stories, and/or multiple stories to enter for both the doe and pets, subject to the pets' requirements below.
Any story told in this thread can be used for the Legendary story requirements

Take the Watch will grant these revolutionary pets to the most skillful propagandists from the tribe infiltrating this event. [Please note that the rosette on the pig is just a marking.
