[1v1] Trial By Fire (Kamakura/Falair)

Kamakura was again back at the gym once he'd recovered from his fight with AJ. He wanted to get one more practice session in, more to feel prepared come time for exams. The nekomata entered the gym, and shrugged off his jacket to prepare for the would be battle. He wore his gym attire, a pair of sweats, sneakers and a t-shirt that did not match his usual pristine school uniform appearance. There was no way he was going to ruin a button on one of his nice shirts while knowingly working out.

Considering just practicing throwing fireballs at a training dummy, Kama lingered around near the gymnasium door that lead various year students in and out of the building, searching among those boils and ghouls around the gym. Searching for an opponent surely wouldn't be too difficult?

Whatever the case was, the cat boil wasn’t particularly picky although to spare an undead the unfortunate fate of fire..he’d rather avoid that. Otherwise the shapeshifter was down for whatever may come his way. For the first time since he'd gotten back to Halloween, he actually felt fairly much like his old usual self. Even the lingering memories of the vines didn't bother him, he was back at the school and had a second chance of sorts given to him in the form of the human sparing him from being absorbed.

It wasn't often that Falair visited the school anymore. Actually, she never really visited it often anytime. Sure there was the occasional visit but those were few and far between. She had too much going on to deal with the scarelings.

But for some reason today boredom has taken hold and the mare found herself wandering their gym. It had a...pretty bad smell to it really. How anyone could do anything in this place was beyond her.

She watched as various students were working out, sparring, hanging around on the sidelines. Why they were doing that was beyond her. Perhaps they were creeps who liked to watch other people get all gross and sweaty. But that was none of her business.

Kamakura noticed someone standing apart from the rest of the various students. They didn't seem like a typical student. Raising a curious brow the demon moved a little closer, past the main entrance and gave the other a curious look.

"Are you looking to spar perhaps?" The cat boil inquired after a moments hesitation. "I must confess, I fight with fire magic if that isn't a problem anyway however." The student offered with a reluctant smile, a small demonstration shown as he raised a gloved hand to call on his fire magic.

For a second the mare hadn't noticed that the boil was talking to her. But when no one else responded she turned her head to regard him. Oh well, it seemed he was talking to her.

She considered the situation carefully. Watching as flame danced about his hand. Falair was not afraid of fire. Oh no. His concern about it though made her laugh internally. She might as well humor him.

"Sure. Fire doesn't bother me like some of your Undead scarelings." She quirked a slender eyebrow before summoning a golden chain into her hands. Upon closer inspection small spikes could be seen dangling from it.

The chain received a curious look as Kamakura then eye'd the other. Whomever this ghoul was she certain seemed like she would not be an easy opponent.

Still the demon would see where this went. "I'd say the only rule being let's not aim to destroy one another then hm?" He smiled, just ever so slightly then as he took aim at her and threw one of his fireballs directly at the woman as she'd confirmed he'd be fine to use his magic.

Kama missed just by a fraction, his aim was off slightly. Scowling he waited to see how his opponent would respond.

"Fine by me." She hadn't expected to be in a fight to the death. But this scareling wanted to make sure. He seemed apprehensive about her if he was making those kinds of deals.

When the ball of fire passed by her Falair didn't flinch. So much for his fireballs she. The look on her face was one of dispassion but it was hard to tell with her face mask.

With a quick flick of her wrist she sent her chain flying at Kamakura. The links snapping with the quick motion of her hand, causing the attached spikes to snap to attention.

Annoyed he'd missed the first time, Kama went to toss out another fireball but the snap of the chain against his frame was enough to send yet another one of his attacks flying striking a wall in a quick puff of flames.

The felines tail twitched in agitation, trying to move out of range of another snap of those chains they certainly were fearsome without question. Tsking he readied for another strike in the meantime.

He had a feeling she had by far more combat experience than he, it was something about her expression and stance. The younger boil wouldn't let that stop him however from trying just the same.

It was kind of sad really. She had really hoped that he would have some big fire attack besides little fireballs that he tossed around. His aim with them was a bit lack luster as well. But the Horseman would chalk it up to inexperience.

Of course, Falair was probably the lease fearsome or experienced fighter. She knew enough to get by but she wasn't from the War clan. Nor was she a Colony Soldier. No, her life was full of studying and experiments. Fighting was usually on a need to do basis.

Pulling in the one end of her chain, she sent the other at him after giving it a small twirl. "Are you afraid of physical attacks or can you only just lob fireballs aimlessly at your opponent?"

Kamakura might as well have not challenged the clans men for all the effort he'd put in thus far, it looked like a practical joke on his part which he found embarrassing say the least. "I'm not afraid...I guess I'm just not the best in close combat is all!" He snapped back. With a quick wave of his hand, his fires vanished as his human-like hands shifted into a more claw like shape. Kama then pounced at his opponent, recalling he could use his tail for balance, as AJ had pointed out during their fight.

"I assure you it's not intended to be aimless." His ears laid back as he took a swing at her ignoring the bite of the chain when she gave it a twirl.

At this rate, his opponent would come out without ever being harmed by him. His claws slashed out at the other, as if to prove a point yes in fact he could attack and cause harm to something and his attacks weren't all for show.

That really made two of them. She preferred ranged attacks from close quarters, but it was interesting enough to say the least to go up against ones that weren't into that kind of fighting as well.

But this cat boy has some claws which came close to taking off her nose. Lucky for her she was quick enough to dodge, though could feel them scrape across her shoulder.

Falair jumped back, putting space between them. "Not bad."

He'd have to catch back up with her, she'd put a bit of distance between them rather quickly. Kamakura dashed after the other as she jumped back, when he tried to swipe at her, he came up short leaving him needing to be the one to back off this time as he'd left himself open for an attack.

"As with you..you're chain is impressive." The spikes lining it recieved a curious look, his feral golden eyes gleaming with wonder. "Might I ask a name?" while his clawed hands were still raised defensively, and his shoulder tense he wondered if he could perhaps ask just the same to learn just a little bit more about his sparing partner.

Kama could feel the starts of respect begining where this one was concerned. She had a level head, and kept calm under pressure seemingly.

As he retreated she sent her chain after him in persute. Flicking her wrist a couple of times causing the chain to rise and fall before pulling it back to her.

"Its not often I spar. So a glimpse at my weapon is quite special." Ah, so now he wanted her name? Well then, she would oblige of course. Though perhaps introductions should have been made at the beginning. "Falair Saab, soon to be Sage of the Famine Clan. And you?" Might as well ask. Though she doubted she would run into him again in the future.

The chain hit him square on, and he was fairly certain the pointed ends had sliced into him given the sharp pain he felt. Cringing he stood up straight and although curious, he inclined his head to the clansmen respectively. "Kamakura Meigetskui, soon to be second year." He concluded, realizing next time he did a spar at random like this, introductions surely would come sooner. At the time it had spaced his mind to ask.

Calling out to his Fear, the demon summoned a series of fireballs and with a shout gave each a quick toss aiming them as he struck his opponent with the phantom-like flames. While the timing perhaps was a little strange it seemed to flow with the nature of their battle. While the Halloweener was barely making headway, perhaps with that he'd have at least made up for a few of his misses with his flames in return for her heavy duty attack.

"A pleasure." He added quietly, although he was respectful of the other they had a spar to conclude in the meanwhile.

The barrage of fireballs surely caught her off guard. Falair brought her arms up to shield herself from the flames. While she wasn't afraid of fire in the least being burnt was not at the top of her things she enjoyed list.

Kamakura had it in him for one more quick fireball, with that he'd likely need to rely on his claws to finish up the battle, he'd spent a lot of his energy already unleashing his magic. He was still learning how to control his magic, where as shapeshifting had come to the demon naturally.

"Hm.." Kama's ears laid back. While his opponent seemed to be going strong still, he at least felt satisfied in that he'd made up for his initial few blunders. He watched her warily from the short distance between them for whatever she might try next.
