(Semi ORP for Team Rocket members only. Feel free to involve your characters any way you see fit for the story. there is no "plan" for how this plot will progress. this RP will progress differently depending on the actions and involvement (or lack there of) of player characters. Feel free to ask me questions, but new info for IC reasons will need to be discovered ICly)
Following an exciting event in the labs, that landed two of the scientists involved in the infirmary, and a full scale investigation going down, only rumors and speculation as to what happened was going down. No one seemed to have the same story, though the consensus is that something was lost, and the Agents involved were under investigation. Many Rockets were curious for the actual events, seeking out possible truths, while others were content just enjoying the vast number of stories.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One Agent in particular, was not. as part of internal investigations, Agent Bishop in the Intel department was one of the Agents given the task of looking into the incident at the labs, and determined what happened. Earlier that morning he had over herd the Robotic's department lead Agent, Agent Faleen, had uncharacteristically now showed up for her shift that day, and was not answering her dex. The name had sounded familiar for him, prompting a glance through his files to discover that Agent Faleen was one of the Agents asked to be a part of the project that had literally blown up in their faces. That was not his job though, it was the task of the Tech department to find out why their Agents were not at work.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It had been a long time since the Science lab has suffered a loss of subject and equipment. Many of the Grunts and Agents not involved with that particular project, It had been a joined one with the Robotics department. Many of the Scientists knew what the project was, and what exactly was missing, thus recruited to help locate the missing the missing subject worth hundreds of thousands.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On this day, the Robotics department felt much different, everyone was on edge, confused and non productive. It wasn't like Faleen at all to miss a shift, let alone not respond to her Rocket Dex, a few Grunts even voiced the Agent acting particularly strange the last two days ever since she was put under investigation with the lab accident, and they started to wonder if this had anything to do with it. The absent had been reported to the Tech lead, and hoping someone would be sent out to check her quarters. Most of the Rockets in the Robotic lab had no idea what the project was they were working on, though its suspected a few of the higher ranking Agents had been in on the project with Faleen.
Izaya was not appreciative of being kept in the dark. This was probably to be expected of an informant, but for someone who made his hobby his job, not even being a traitor could make him keep his nose out of others' business. The ex-Rocket still lived on base. This meant that even if he wasn't directly told what was going on or had the access to information that other Rockets did, he still heard whispers, rumors, news, and gossip going around.
At first he just kept his ears open and his head down as he did his work like a good subordinate. As soon as he'd started hearing about Faleen by name, though, he began to actively seek out information on the matter involved. She may not have been his partner anymore, but she was still a Rocket and one of his beloved humans, not to mention one of the people in charge of him as an experiment. If something had happened to her, he felt it naturally his business to know.
Finally, after hitting what he felt was a dead end with the Rockets he regularly interacted with, Izaya decided to go straight to the source. He took a cart of cleaning supplies with the pretense of heading to the Robotics lab to do janitorial work, but his true goal was of a different nature. Perhaps those who knew of his role as an experimental subject would recognize him and send him away, believing him to be looking into his own experimentation, but maybe not. They probably had enough on their hands to worry about without keeping tabs on him and what he should or shouldn't have been doing.
Tech Department - Break Room
Time to sweep in the break room! With a trainee cap low over his face, Izaya kept quiet as he got to work. He glanced up every so often to make note of the speakers and their addressees as well as their physical attributes and ranks. All of his observation skills were put to the test as he garnered every tiny gem of information he could manage. With each of his five senses and his ability to read into the information he gathered from them, he managed to learn a few new important things.
By the sound of it, they were talking about Faleen, but that much was obvious. Izaya knew she was the head of the Robotics department, which meant the blond with green eyes was in that department and presumably worked close enough and long enough with Faleen to know her habits. Said habits sounded like Aila's, but that, too, was something the ex-Rocket already knew.
An explosion...so that rumor had been true. He hadn't realized Faleen had been one of the ones caught up in it, though. What did they mean when they said she had been 'acting strange'? And...where could she be right now? She almost never left base; not if she could help it. People were known to have changed personalities when a certain part of their brain got damaged, Izaya knew.
It made sense if she had hit her head. But even if he had gone to the infirmary, what reason was there for them to give him her information? Concern? No. He wasn't her partner anymore. There was no practical reason for him to be allowed access to her medical information. What to do, then? It seemed like all he could do was continue to sweep and listen.
Robotics Lab
"I have no idea, the Agents in this department aren't too open with the grunts about all the projects. It was in the science labs anyway, so most of what was lost was their own equipment... that's why they've got us doing inventory today, to see what we need to be replaced." the first grunt said, lowering his pad with a slight frustrated tone, It wasn't like inventory was the most entertaining job in the world.
He looked over to Adam "I don't know whats up with Faleen, but she didn't show up today."
"I assume she wasn't hurt, she was here the last two days." the other Grunt said, letting out a hiss as he stood up from his crouch, stretching his back out "It looks like we're all good on the welding torches, Adam, why don't you stand with the hard drives."
