[Self RP Jauhar] It Started While Resting (Rajinder and Lya)

Rajinder

Training had helped distract his mind, even though having lost track of the numerous blows dealt to an invisible foe still did not equate to resolving his familial issues. But now, though he had intended to take some time to rest and gain another wind for resuming his training where he left off so far, his troubles returned to the forefront of his thoughts despite having no such invitation to do so.

Rajinder was sprawled on a wide tree branch that hung fairly low in comparison to many other such branches but still high enough that it easily granted him the privacy of stealth. It also helped that this location was seldom accessed even by passersby. His head was further away from the body of the tree with his feet consequently being closer to the tree trunk as he closed his eyes to the sky he was facing above him yet while still shaded from it by leafy higher branches as he willed his problems to give him a break so he could maybe get some actual peace and quiet for even a fraction of a while.

Lya

She was humming an upbeat, impromptu tune despite feeling tuckered out. And this was because, though exhausting, it always filled her with happiness to go through the motions and complete part of her daily training. She gently tossed the long, slender branch she had found and began training with earlier today so that it landed with a quiet thud beneath an almost leafless but wide overhead tree branch. And then Lya followed suit, spreading a picnic cloth beside her spontaneously makeshift training weapon and unceremoniously dropping and stretching her form on the passable softness of that cloth with a contented sigh. As her eyes traced the markings of the tree branch overhead, she resumed adding to the hummed tune she had paused in the latest, immediately previous few moments.

Rajinder

He heard someone approach and then settle beneath the tree branch he was resting on. However, Rajinder did not act on the curiosity compelling him to see who it was, he resisted it, at least thus far. But from what he could tell about the individual's voice, it was quite clearly belonging to that of a woman. And as he listened to the cheery tune she was humming, he found a small smile forming on his features. At least one of them seemed to be happy.

Lya

And then her tummy growled. "Ack!" But the exclamation in respond to her stomach's alert was still followed by an amused chuckled on Lya's part. "This calls for a snack," she beamed as she righted herself up to a seated position and began rummaging inside the humble bag of her belongings.

Rajinder

At the sound of the woman's stomach growling, the smile on Rajinder's face broke into a grin. But still he remained silent and for the most part still aside from his changing facial expressions over the course of the time since the mysterious individual on the ground level below had arrived, oblivious to his presence and company from where he was presently and rather effortlessly concealed.

Lya

"Aha!" The bright declaration punctuated her humming. Lya then went about pulling apart the drawstrings of her food pouch as she continued her melody. And then said melody was punctuated by pauses here and there while her humming mixed with soft crunches at some points.

Rajinder

And now at this point, Rajinder was putting a notable amount of effort into avoiding laughter. What was the woman doing exactly? His guess was that she had picked a mix of berries and nuts from the surrounding vicinity just as he had. But would he be right in also imagining her perhaps tossing up pieces of food to catch in her mouth from time to time?

Lya

Actually, yes, that was in fact the process by which Lya was going about consuming her meal. Up another one of the berries she had freshly gathered this morning went, and she succeeded in catching that as well with a repeated enclosing of her lips having been performed with acceptable timing.

Rajinder

Yeah, Rajinder was admitting to himself now that he was also hungry. Thus, he, too, took on a seated position and quietly began going through his own bag retrieved from beside his feet and that had been propped up against the edge where the trunk met the branch.

Lya

Her humming quieted for a number of seconds as Lya thought she heard something, a sound of rustling from above her. She looked up but only saw the same view that had greeted her when she had arrived. And then she resumed her munching and humming after considering that she might have just imagined what she had just thought she'd heard.

Rajinder

He had stilled when he heard her abrupt pause in humming. And only when she resumed making cheerfully sounded musical notes with that voice of hers did Rajinder also resume moving. He pulled a small bag of food out of his bag but it hadn't been securely closed and pieces of food fell over the side of the branch he was seated on.

Lya

"Hello? Is anyone up there?" Lya asked again after another pause in her musical groove and snacking. Was there a little critter up there? A look at the items that had fallen determined them to be berries and nuts like those she had gathered.

Rajinder

Had he not dropped anything from his place seated on the level higher up from where the woman was seated, Rajinder may have maintained his attempt at silence. However, the case now was otherwise and regardless of the sizes of the pieces of food he had dropped, he wanted to give his apology and to check on the woman seated below. So for balance, he hung one leg over one side and his body over the other then looked down and said his greetings to the woman who he caught sight off, "Uh, hi, and I'm sorry."

Lya

A few more seconds and Lya almost would have concluded whatever was up there was likely just an overall harmless member of the local fauna. But, no, it was a man. And she was at this present instant speechlessly staring up at him who had just revealed himself.

Rajinder

"Are you okay? Did the pieces of food I dropped hit you?" The embarrassment on Rajinder's face shifted to concern with these next two questions of his. What if she choked on one of the pieces of food he dropped?
