▌█ HISTORY
████BACKSTORY
██████ ▻ April 17th 1799 was the day that the wealthy Lloyd family gave birth to a bouncing baby boy named Jasper Ebenezer Lloyd Jr after his father. He grew up trying to live up to the expectations of his parents as the eldest child. For the most part he excelled. His grades at school were exceptional and he was, in his parents eyes, destined for great things. As he got older his parents would bring to him many suitors. Each and every woman in their parent's eyes was a 'perfect' match. Jasper was not interested in marrying at all. He wanted to work, to explore the world. Perhaps further his study in literature in the arts. Back then you see, he wanted to be a writer. Jasper's twentieth birthday came all to soon. He was a man now not just the Lloyd boy. However Jasper's life was to be unexpectedly cut short. On May 9th at approximately 2 am there was a break in in their large mansion. A large, strong dog like figure had broken down the door. The servants panicked and began screaming as the dog took them out one by one. Jasper and his parents were awoken by the screaming and all got out of bed to investigate. The family made their way down the grand staircase slowly. The candle in Clara, Jasper's mother's hand shaking violently in fear as they neared the source of the sound. Throughout the main hall and the kitchen, six bodies lay dead on the floor. Each one mutilated beyond help. The family were devastated... and horrified. Whatever had done this still remained in the house.
Jasper cannot think of a worse night than the 9th May 1819. The beast attacked them all torturing them throughout the night. Jasper was unable to save his parents as he escaped through the servants quarters. With any hope if he ran fast enough he could make it to the village. Unluckily however the creature followed him and sure enough with its enhanced speed and agility caught up to him. It bit his shoulder through his clothing and dragged him back to where it had been hiding outside the house. Jasper fainted due to the intense amounts of pain. To his surprise and horror he awoke days later in his bed his wound bandaged. Someone must have saved him! He hurried out of his bedroom to see if his parents were okay but they were nowhere to be found, neither were any of the staff. The house was empty. After assessing the area where he had seen the bodies the night before, although someone had gone to great lengths to clear the mess the scent of blood still lingered in the air.
The weeks went by and Jasper managed to get by despite the grief following his parents death. He had so many questions. Where were the bodies? Who had saved him? What was the creature? Unfortunately his questions remained unanswered. Jasper began to notice many changes. He himself seemed to be stronger. There were things he could do now that he could never do before. He was faster, it was inhumane and despite everything that had happened he was euphoric, it was a feeling he could not describe and it sickened him. He should grieve. The young man convinced himself he was simply in denial. His appetite grew and soon he had eaten all of the food in the house. He knew he would have to leave eventually, he simply didn't want to. He rode his horse into the Village where he would buy essential supplies. He was not there on a social visit he was in no mood to discuss the disappearance of his parents especially when he could not express his grief in the right way. His first stop was the bakery. He had always loved this shop as a child, Jones the baker would always give him a free biscuit whenever he bought something, even to this day. He walked into the shop and greeted the baker in the same way he always had. The man expected the same response he always received but the baker looked petrified. Lloyd was confused, and simply tried to purchase some bread. When he left the shop he was greeted with many strange glances. It was as if he was being watched by the villagers. Some of the mothers pulled their children closer away from him. It was easy to put the pieces together, especially when he was literally chased out of town by an angry mob. The Village had blamed Jasper for the deaths of his parents.
The years went by and Jasper rarely leaves his home. He fears that, now he has become like the creature that killed his parents he cannot trust himself. Rumours formed about the mansion at the top of the hill. Now, decades after the Lloyd massacre not many dare to venture near to the mansion and Jasper remains there alone. The Beast in his palace.

Year - 1872
Following a massacre at the Lloyd house over fifty years ago, no one has dared go near the mansion since. It is said that a selfish beast resides within the walls that will kill any whom trespass.
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.... the days just went on. They morphed into weeks and months then years. Every day was the same, the only difference being the weather outside of the large window that looked out into the forest. Jasper had even set up a large arm chair in front of the window so that he could watch the weather as it came. Sometimes it rained. Sometimes it hailed. Occasionally it was sunny though clouds were more frequent. Rainbows, thunder, snowstorms. He had seen it all countless times. Now this would be the same for any old person. Jasper was now seventy three years of age, although he still looked the same as the night his parents died when he was merely twenty. The thought that he would never die had been creeping up on him for a long time. Perhaps he couldn't? He sometimes hoped that one full moon he would escape his restraints and wind up dead. Maybe he should give in to the curse and go into the town. Become the villain they all believed him to be. Surely they had forgotten by now. Jasper never stayed long enough in the town to find out. He went there once a month to steal food. Not enough for them to notice but enough for him to live off. Whilst anywhere in the castle the beast had hearing so acute he could hear everything from the footsteps of the deer in the woods to the sounds of birds flapping. Sometimes it was impossible to switch off from the noises. He often sat there and simply listened to the world passing by around him.
Jasper's second favourite place was the library and that is where he found himself that mild afternoon. The library was huge and he had not yet finished reading a quarter of the books available. Today he was merely browsing through the books he had not yet read looking for one that caught his eye. He would often spend weeks cleaning the entire mansion from top to bottom. The entire building was pristine, as if there was an entire team of workers cleaning weekly. Everywhere except the West wing, where Jasper only ventured once a month when the moon was full. He had always been a strong individual and so he refused to seek help for his condition. He preferred to sit alone in his mansion alone where he could not put anyone else in danger. He often joked with himself about leaving, but he simply could not. It was as if he had gone mad from being alone for so long, now he just craved the solitude and he was able to revel in it.

Atticus trudged through the forest, his black slacks were not made for walking in the wilderness, and by now he was unbuttoned his vest and dress shirt to cool himself. He still wore his black carriage gloves, but those would have been removed as well were they not protecting his hands from the brush. He had originally intended to go explore the woods for fun, it was a very rare day off and he had wanted to spend it in nature. He'd ignored all the warning that had been floating around since his parents time of the lord of the castle. It was said he had turned into a beast and killed his family, and that even today he sat there, not aging, and waiting to attack. Of course Atticus didn't believe such tales, and so he had started up the path to the castle.
It had been during his trek that he had wandered off the path to follow a doe and her young fawn, intoxicated by their grace and silence, but when he eventually tired and lost sign of them he realized he had also lost sign of the path. Now he was making his way towards his original goal, the only thing that was visible over the trees. He wasn't sure how long it took but eventually he made it onto the grounds of the estate where he fell to his rump to rest. He laid back onto the grass and looked up to the blue sky, gathering up the energy to walk around the grounds until he found the head of the path to head back to the town again.
Ooc- will make a format once I get on computer, also sry I'm bad at the first couple posts usually ><
It was midday by the time Jasper left the library, a large leather bound book grasped in his hands. He planned on reading it until he fell asleep, perhaps he would pause in a few hours to have a meal. The full moon had just recently passed and so Jasper was at his calmest. He need not worry about the blood-lust, it was at its weakest now. In order to get to the drawing room he had to pass go down the only staircase in the house which meant passing through the main hall. It was here that Jasper caught the scent of something that almost made him drop the book. "Human... it can't be," He muttered to himself as he tucked the book under his arm and hurried to look out of the nearest window. Peering out of the curtain from this angle he could see the shape of a young man seated on the ground along the edges of the estate. Surely he had heard the rumours? Surely like everyone else he would avoid this place? Jasper had not seen another human being on his property for over fifty years. However he refrained from being too excited. Surely if the lad saw him he would bolt. How could he convince the boy to come inside... without speaking to him. The man made his way to the front door and ever so slowly opened it wide. Hopefully the figure outside would not have seen the door open. Hopefully, he would just amuse the home abandoned. Being careful not to be seen Jasper sat on the window seat and decided to merely watch the boy for a while, to see if he would take the bait.

He had finally caught his breath and was slowly pulling himself up to stand. He buttoned his shirt and vest before brushing himself off and running a gloved hand through his light blonde hair. He didn't want to look completely disheveled when he finally made it back. He began walking around to the front of the house where he assumed the path would be. He had just caught sight of the path he was seeking when something else caught his eye. He noticed the door was open, and seeing as this place was supposed to be abandoned-or otherwise occupied by some monster he didn't believe in- curiosity got the best of him.
Perhaps someone from town had come looking for him? Or maybe someone was finally going to move into this place. He walked up quietly, unsure if he should enter. Would this be trespassing? But even if someone was here he could just admit to the truth, that he had gotten lost. He stepped up to the open door and took one last breath, still unsure, but he doubted he would ever come back up here again and he wanted to take the opportunity while he had it. He quietly crossed the threshold and entered, hoping to explore before heading home, because he thought it would be easy to leave.
Sure enough the blonde haired male took the bait and made his way closer to the doors of the house. As he neared, Jasper was able to get a much closer look at his visitor. He was cute, probably around twenty, perhaps younger. His clothing suggested working class, but he had a good job. Perhaps a servant? He was smart nonetheless. Lloyd had made up his mind before the male had even set foot into the house. He wanted to speak with the boy. Perhaps keep him here for a while, he was lonely after all. Jasper smiled to himself as he watched him walk through the door from the shadows. He would let him explore for a while and watch from afar. Only interfering if he was to go near to the west wing. That part of his home was for his eyes only. Inside were things... things that showed the true nature of the beast he had become. ooc- Was thinking that we could have them build up a friendship of sorts. Perhaps my character lies about whom he is, claims that he recently moved in or something before he turns into a complete monster jackass? xD What do you think?

When he stepped inside he was first struck by the silence. It didn't sound like anyone else was here, no footsteps, no voices, nothing. But there also wasn't the sound of any animals in the home either even though it was said to be abandoned. As he took a few more steps inside he also realized that the house was almost spotless, no dust, no debris. But wasn't this place abandoned for a few decades? So maybe his assumption was correct that someone was going to be moving in, that would explain it. And maybe after cleaning they forgot to shut the door. He nodded slightly to himself. But in that case should he be wandering around here? But no one was here right now, so he may as well take the opportunity to look around.
He began wandering through the castle, peeks in rooms that were already open. He decided not to open any doors in case someone happened to be here. After searching for a bit, finding a sitting room and a library and a dining room his curiosity was more or less sated. Though this place was very large it was similar in many ways to the estate he worked for, extravegant and with more rooms than any normal family would need. He was getting ready to leave when he decided to look down the west wing. He figured he'd take a quick glance and see if there were any interesting rooms, but once he finished that he would deffinelty start heading back, he'd be missed if he was gone much longer. As he walked he whistled a song his mother had sung to him as a young child before she and his father had passed, and in the stifling quiet it made him feel less uneasy.
Jasper watched in amusement as the male wandered about his home. He had always felt a sense of pride in how he was able to keep the place so neat and tidy, a part of him was glad that someone was finally here to appreciate it. As he followed him around he was extremely careful not to make a sound, though his supernatural abilities allowed him to be near silent. A part of Jasper was nervous, he hadn't spoken to another being in so long he feared he had forgotten what was acceptable and what was not. He wondered what he would say to him when he finally got the chance. Perhaps he should come up with a cover story. Immortality didn't quite fall on the small talk spectrum.
He was so distracted thinking of things to talk about that he almost didn't notice when the boy headed in the direction of the west wing. Almost in a panic he called out from where he had been watching him from the landing. "Excuse me," He said assuming the role he had decided on. "How did you get inside?" He asked looking the boy up and down the large book still cradled in his arms.

When he heard a voice call out to him his body immediately went cold. He hadn't heard anyone else and was a bit startled though he tried to keep calm. He very quickly turned and looked at the source of the voice, surprised that it was a male who didn't look much older than himself. He quickly bowed, his right hand across his waist as was customers of a servant greeting someone of higher social standing. He kept his voice and face looking cool and professional, something he'd grown used to doing even though right now his heart was still racing from the surprise.
"My apologies, I lost my way in the forest and ended up here. The door was open so I had entered, I didn't mean to trespass. I had been told this place was abandoned." He straightened himself and looked more closely at the other male. He noted the dark hair and eyes, and that his attire wasn't of a normal townsfolk. "If I may sir, do you live here?" He asked with bred in politeness. Briefly he was concerned that he could be punished for being here without permission, either fired from his current position or possibly beaten depending on his employers will and to what extent this stranger wished to complain. He decided acting calm and subservient would be his best bet for now, he could think of something else if he needed.
The male smiled, a genuine smile so it seemed. He wanted to make a good impression. Jasper bowed in return as the boy did so. "Ah, that makes sense; although it isn't wise to go wandering in the woods alone it isn't safe," He warned. Jasper thought it best to play it safe. He would not mention the curse, not unless he had to. He could hear the rapid heartbeat of the young boy. He almost felt bad, but then again it was he whom had trespassed. "I am a distant cousin of the previous owners, I inherited the property and decided to stay for a while and see if I want to move in... come join me I was about to make some tea," He smiled gesturing for the boy to walk on by and down the stairs.

He watched the other with calm blue eyes, and was put at ease when it didn't seem that he was going to be punished for this. When he gave his warning Atticus gave a polite smile. "So I have heard, though many in the village talk about a beast roaming this forest, and I do not fear such tales." He wondered if this male had heard the stories, and if he hadn't what would happen when he met the more suspicious townsfolk? When offered tea he gave pause, on one hand it would be rude to refuse, but on the other he was just a servant and shouldn't be talking idly with someone of a higher class. Finally he decided to follow, after all he was at the others mercy more or less for trespassing.
Jasper smiled and began to lead the way down the stairs running his hand along the banister with his gloved hand. "A beast! Why some people do have wild imaginations," He chuckled nervously. Perhaps he knew and was here to kill him? No no, he was being paranoid. Jasper took a deep breath. "Animals perhaps but nothing out of the ordinary," The male hated lying, perhaps that was why he had avoided other people for so long so that he didn't have to pretend to be someone that he wasn't. "Say, I haven't been to the Village yet, what's it like there?" He asked the boy as they reached the bottom of the stairs. They then made their way to the kitchen where Jasper proceeded to put water in a pan and leave it to boil on the stove. He put the tea leaves in the mug and took a seat at what had once been the servants table. "Please, take a seat," He offered with a smile.

He nodded in agreement with the other, he had person ally never believed that some strange beast could exist so close to them without more sightings, it was just illogical. He didn't notice anything off about the other, though in part he was still a bit on edge himself. When asked about the village he paused, not sure what to say. "Honestly I have not been outside of this village in my life, but I suppose it is much the safe as others. They are a superstitious lot, but many are kind and take in strangers. My current employer is one of the lords, if you are able to get in his favor I'm sure the rest would give you respect as well." Was that an acceptable answer? Surely he didn't want to hear about foolish things. When offered a seat he took it a bit wearily, he had never been allowed to sit with any but other servants. Neverthelessless he didn't forget himself and resting his hands stiffly on his knees and sat straight, avoiding eye contact.
Jasper nodded as the boy spoke, resting his ankle on his other knee as he slouched slightly in his seat. "It sounds rather pleasant, perhaps I shall make a visit soon," He lied with a smile. There is no way the villagers would trust him, especially if he kidnapped one of their townsfolk. Perhaps he could come up with something that would force the boy to return. Nothing too drastic. Perhaps asking him to fetch some items from the market. "You work for a lord?" He questioned. "My that is some responsibility to have on such young shoulders, I myself would buckle under the pressure," He chuckled with a smile. Jasper noticed his uncomfortable stance and frowned slightly. "Please relax, I dislike formalities and you are a guest in this house," He said lightly but firmly, brushing off the fact that the boy had trespassed into his home. When the water had boiled Jasper stood and began to pour the tea into two white china cups. When he was done he handed the boy his drink. "My name is Jasper, by the way," He told him as he took a seat. He hoped the boy would introduce himself, but hey, he was a stranger.
