It was a quiet, normal night across Kodo; the end of an unremarkable, but pleasant, mild Autumn day. The air was crisp and cool, with no cloud nor hint of foul weather, providing any who might care to look up with an unobstructed view of the night sky.
The first hint that the peace was about to be shattered came in the form of glowing green speck, appearing just above the South Western horizon at around 9 pm local time. This speck would grow larger, and a defined ‘tail’ would come into view at around 9.10 pm. By 9.25, the speck had become multiple streaks visible clearly from Ambergris.
At approximately 9.35, an extremely loud ‘boom’ could be heard and felt across the island, and several bright green objects flashed low across the skies over Ambergris and then even lower over the Northern Trainer Center, their descent angled to place them somewhere in the desert to the East of the Center.
The media was quick to report on the event, with multiple people calling both them and the authorities to report what they’d witnessed, and at 9.50, a televised broadcast was relaying a few of the early calls.
“Thank you, Steve! Now a few more details on the suspected meteorite impact. We’ve been getting a number of calls about this. A couple of calls in particular peaking our interest tonight, though, reporting sightings, in the area, of little green m-”
At 9.52 PM, the region suffered a temporary blackout, cutting off the news report.
The power resumed at roughly 3 am, and by 6 am, hoping to get a few hours of investigation in before the hottest part of the day, several different groups with varying motives and interests had arranged transport out to what was reported to be the impact site of the previous night’s objects. Of course these groups did not discourage people from utilizing their own transport in vehicle or pokémon form.
This ORP takes place at the impact site of several small meteorites. There is a main crater, a secondary crater, and a debris field in an area that covers approximately 1 mile of desert landscape, some distance East of the Northern Trainer Center. Please take the landscape and situation into account while playing.
AREA 1: The Main Crater: Whatever caused the main large displacement of sand here already seems to have been removed but several rocky remnants still lay around the area and various pokémon hide among them or in the sand.
AREA 2: Secondary Crater: Just South East of the Main Crater is a smaller secondary crater. Here the object that caused it is still present. An extremely heavy Tauros-sized rock, mostly black, and of uneven shape is half-sunken into the sand. Many pokémon seem to be attracted to this area.
AREA 3: The Debris Field: A trail of rocky debris that extends North East past the main crater for roughly one mile. Many pokémon seem to be present and curious about these smaller objects.
OOC RULES AND INSTRUCTIONS!
1) You may obtain two pokémon from this ORP total. This does not have to be with the same character. 2) There is no limit on how many characters you may play in this ORP but you are limited to keep only two pokémon as a player. 3) Please be very clear in your post when rolling; you must include the area you are rolling for either by name or number listed, and a clear description of whatever your character might be doing. 4) Please remember this is a very public event and as such it would be unwise for Rocket characters to appear in uniform or behave in an obviously suspicious manner. 5) When a pokemon appears, please be very clear as to whether you are choosing for your character to keep that pokémon or not. How your character encounters the pokémon ICly is up to you. You're free to interact with the pokemon even if you don't want to keep it, so long as you clearly specify your intent. Once caught, however, you cannot release a pokémon to 'free up a slot', so please be sure you want the pokémon you catch. 6) To 'roll' you must generate a random number between 1 and 13; this plus the area you provide in your roll post will determine what your character encounters. 7) There /are/ booby prizes; these will be clearly stated as such. 8) The chance to obtain pokémon will run from today (Sunday the 23rd) starting now until 8 pm(EST) on Sunday the 30th of October! is no longer available! After that only booby prizes (including non-catchable pokémon or prizes relating to the plot of the ORP) can be rolled. After November 1st only non-pokémon, non-plot-relevant booby prizes can be rolled. 9) The ORP itself will remain open indefinitely for RP.

[ Lexxie - AREA 1 ]
Lexxie and Kira were taking their evening walk around the forest region of Kodo, since it was their daily routine since coming here. Lexxie never got a lot of chances to breathe in fresh air like this. Of course while living in Arizona, she did...but it was hot air. So moving here was perfect for her, and she got her autumn back.
"Ready to head ho-" But before she even finished her sentence a bright light blazed behind her and the ground shook, knocking her unbalanced.
RIghting herself before falling over, She turned around and saw smoke in the distance. "Guess we can head home later. Let's move."
While running towards the biggest tower or smoke, she took out her hat, gathered up her short hair, and placed it on, going into her official explorer/rescuer mode.
They ran until they reached the sight and she gasped, it had seemed a meteor or several had landed causing a bit of destruction to the surrounding dessert. Though there arent that much people around as of yet, she had to get in and see if any pokemon were injured as well investigate the meteors. "Let's go Kira."

[Area 2]
Alice had woken up far too early that morning thanks to a before-dawn visit from her excited father, though it didn't take long for his excitement over a meteorite impact to infect her. After he'd hurried away, the young woman hastened to shower, get dressed, pack a few things - namely her pokeballs, camera, a couple water bottles and a few other small things - and depart to take advantage of provided transportation.
Unfortunately, anyone in the same vehicle as Alice would be subjected to endless probing questions about the nature of the meteorite, if they had seen it themselves, and a myriad of other questions of which she only received a couple answers.
One answer she did receive, though, was a general layout of what areas to investigate. Once the vehicle stopped and she got out, she adjusted her sunny yellow hoodie around her - she'd take it off and tie it around her waist later if the temperature rose too much - then let out her Sylveon and Chatot before the trio headed towards the spot where one large chunk of the meteorite still remained. A bit of a hike later Alice stopped, slightly out of breath and with a slightly annoyed fairy-type at her side, to survey the meteorite and the area immediately surrounding it for anything out of the ordinary. Well, beside the enormous rock that was sitting in the middle of the desert, of course.
