 Story: It's been a few months since my wife passed away after a car crash. It's been tough time but I've had _____ to keep me sane, now I've opened a small coffee shop which has always been a small dream of mine and now it's a way of keeping our little family together.

The smell of coffee started to drift though the apartment early as always as Ashton got started with his day brewing a coffee for himself to start before starting breakfast for himself and Rosie. He hummed to himself quietly listening for Rosie's footsteps upstairs "It's been a few months now and it's still hard Darlin' but we'll keep going y'know us both well enough" he muttered under his breath as he slowly put a cigarette into his lips and opened the door leading outside and lit it before taking a deep pull and breathing out with a sigh looking out at the sun slowly rising over the houses in the distance

Rosie woke up smelling breakfast cooking. She rubbed her icy blue eyes sleepily as she woke up, before she grabbed her stuffed Bunny that her mama had made her for when she was adopted. She came downstairs hugging the bunny, named Peaches for its peach plush fur, before she hugged Ashton's leg with a sleepy smile on her little face. Being that she was five, and would be turning six soon, anyone would assume she'd want to celebrate, but Rosie didn't feel right leaving her late adoptive mother out of the fun. She didn't want a party, but knew that her mama wasn't coming back. She was still happy with Ashton, but missed her mama a lot. She was always there for Rosie when she was upset or scared, whenever Ashton was at work, or busy with something. Now she had to stay with a baby sitter, and Rosie wasn't too keen on anyone that she didn't see as a friend who was outside the family. She was just a really shy child. It even took time for her to get used to Ashton and his wife when they first came to see her.

Ash looked down at Rosie when she hugged his leg before he gently ruffled her hair and put the cigarette out in the ashtray by the door before he crouched down and lifted Rosie into his arms and smiled "Morning Cub ready for another day today?" he spoke softly as he carried her on his hip to the bar where he sat her in her normal spot and put a cup of milk in front of her as he got her portion of breakfast ready putting a small amount of toast and a small bowl of cereal before coming around with his own bowl and cup of coffee and sat beside her

"Yes sir." She said sleepily with a sweet little nod as she lay her head on his shoulder when he picked her up. She loved Ashton, and had been a daddy's girl since day one of being here. She smiled as she ate her food and drank her milk. "Can I come with you today papa? I promise I'll be good." She said hoping he'd let her go today. She liked going to the Cafe and helping her papa bake goodies and giving them to the customers.

Ash though over Rose'squestion before he smiled and kissed her on the top of her head having finished his food "Sure thing, it'll be a nice to have you around and your always good at the shop as you get cake when you are" he said winking playfully at the end as it had become a bit of a joke when he had first adopted he that he'd bribe her with cake to be good. He quickly washed up and got into his work uniform walking out and smiling at Rosie "Well then Rosie you better get your bag ready while I clean up" he said as he waited for her to finish breakfast while sipping the last of his coffee

Rosie smiled happily when he said she could come with her. She woke right up once she finished her food. Then she nodded as she went to go get her bag ready. She got herself some coloring books, and a few other things before going downstairs, and hugging Ashton's leg. "I'm ready papa!" She said excitedly as she looked up at him, excited to get going.

Ashton had just finished washing there breakfast things up and was drying his hands when Rosie hugged his leg so he grinned down at her before nodding and grabbing his keys and phone "Well then let's go before our regulars get all grumpy" he smiled before making sure her bag was on before scooping her up into his arms and closing the door behind them before walking to the cafe. They finally arrived at the small cafe with it's little wooden sign that named the shop 'Pandora's'. Ashton's smile dropped a little as he gently ran a hand over the name before he unlocked the door putting Rosie down and speaking up "Go and get your favourite seat while papa opens up and then if we stay quiet i'll let you bake some cookies" he said with a small smile.

Rosie nodded saying "Yes sir." smiling happily. As she got in her favorite seat, and started to color, quietly not wanting to get into trouble. It had been a while since she got to come to the cafe with Ashton, mainly due to him being too busy to watch her, so she hoped she wouldn't have to go home. She smiled as she quietly drew and colored pictures for Ashton.

Ash smiled watching her run off before he opened the cafe up and flipped the sign over to open before putting a hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows in front of Rosie and ruffled her hair before a customer came in making him leave her alone once more. Soft jazz played as it was now around lunchtime as most of the customers had gotten there drinks and either lounged around the shop or had left already, he left and sat by Rosie leaving the shop to one of the girls who works for him. "How you doing?" he asked her with a sigh as he stretched his legs out

Rosie smiled happily as she sipped the hot cocoa her papa gave her to drink. "Thank you papa." She said sweetly. Then when he came back and asked how she was doing, she smiled and said "I'm fine, papa. How is your day going?" as she hugged her favorite person in their family. She was grateful that she still had him at least, even though her mama died of cancer. Even though she missed her mama very much, she loved having Ashton around, he was a lot of fun, and the best father ever in her eyes. She was starting school soon, but was nervous about it. She knew Ashton wouldn't let her have a bad day.

Ash mussed her hair gently when she hugged him and smiled down at her before looking around and speaking to her softly "Ready to go back to school Rosie? After all It's been a few months now you must miss your friends" he kept her in his arms as he saw a picture he had hung up of his wife Pandora

"Yes sir. I wish mama was here to see my first day back, but I know she's having fun in heaven." She said in a melancholy kind of way, missing her mama. Her picture had her mama in it but as an angel, and it had Ashton too, as well as herself. She hugged Ashton, gripping his shirt a bit. She knew her mama was there in spirit, but it wasn't the same as having her there with them in the living world.
