Tala Maxwell ~ Entering Combat Wing - Arena - New Day ~ Feeling a little bad about not bringing Fea with him the day before, the Shadowmancer decided he'd make it up to the Wolf and bring her along with him - they weren't necessarily leaving the Academy grounds, but the location he had in mind would at least allow her enough space to run around...whilst he got in a little practice.
Since Camilla had been injured, the little group's training sessions seemed to have dwindled greatly - sure, those who wished to spar still had Beginner's Combat Class outside in the Academy Grounds, but unlike their little gathering of friends, you had the addition of the other class members who didn't necessarily remember boundaries when it came to fighting... There was, of course, also the fact that the Training Grounds had been so greatly decimated, but he didn't blame the Enhancer for that...
Knowing there was no chance of keeping a low profile with Fea at his side, Tala wore something lightweight - the weather was warm, but one might feel occasionally chilled should the sun be covered by cloud or he spent too long in the shade...That was a laugh, one who controlled the Shadows feeling cold in the shade... He rolled his eyes at his own thoughts before focusing his attention on the path ahead as he reached the entrance to the Combat Arena.
With nobody really there to interact with, Tala had considered creating a few shadows which he would then use as targets to spar against, but the first few minutes were instead spent warming up - something he'd been taught was very important before actually engaging in training.
Fea was more than happy to run alongside the Shadowmancer as he jogged a few laps around the Arena - she even took great joy in showing that she could easily overtake him before her attention was drawn away by the male's shadows which as he slowed to a stop appeared to even give the Wolf a run for her money!
"Maybe you could use some practice as well?" Taking a moment to catch his breath, Tala would watch as the Wolf raced around the arena a little longer before flopping down onto the cooling ground beside him.
He would allow Fea to rest for a moment, then, once they were both ready to resume, he would start by forming a single shadowy form - this one held no particular appearance as they were just starting out, but after taking a moment to adjust its height and size, Tala hoped it would last long enough for them both to have a go at it before it dissipated.
Fea would watch silently as the male prepared their target - he'd done this a few times when she'd been growing up, so she knew what he had planned for them, but would restrain the urge to want to jump right in until he was ready... The second she saw the smirk on her Pack Brother's face however and she was on her feet, ready to lunge...!
The pair would initially attack the shade simultaneously, lunging, striking - and missing - before trying again... To anyone observing, the shadow seemed to move of its own free will, but subconsciously, Tala who eventually stepped back to allow the Wolf the chance to fight, controlled it with subtle movements - eager to see how Fea might defend herself should she need to in the future...Profile Location: Combat Wing - Arena Clothing: Wearing This With: Fea, Feeling: OoC "" ""

๐๐ โฅโฅ_____________________ Profile โฃ Temper: None_________________________________________________ _ _ ~ Eyrli arrived on New Day ~
It took a little bit of thought but Eyrli wa able to learn that the Academy also had an arena that was relatively unused. Perhaps it would be decent enough location for her to practice. While it would be nice to have a partner... The girl would have to make do with just getting some training on her own, without risk towards others. Maybe she could even get some practice in regards to her raiment as well as hand to hand. Learning to maintain her abilities in an efficient manner. ...Or at least, she hopes. Her training felt extremely limiting without somebody to exchange with... But having already arrived the girl felt it would be too much of a waste of time to leave, find somebody and have to walk back again. Time that could be spent... Well, practicing!
Whenever she made her way through the doors though, the mute was pleasantly surprised to see that not only was she not the only person using this room, but the person in question... Was her classmate! Tala! And Fea, too! The girl grinned wide and she would notice at the time of her arrival that the boy was not directly training, but manipulating his raiment to allow Fea to train. Perhaps he wanted to make sure Fea would be capable of defending herself if anybody ever threatened her. Eyrli could respect the idea. Unsure if he would get distracted by her presence, the Elementor girl would stay near the doorway and lean against the wall to observe, a joyful grin on her the whole time as she seemed to be witnessing her friend appearing more assertive for one of very few occasions in her time of knowing him. _ _ _________________________________________________ โฟ Mood: Interested | Company: Tala, Fea | Wearing: [Storm Brawler] โ

Tala Maxwell ~ Entering Combat Wing - Arena ~ Tala's eyes were focused upon his companion, watching her every move whilst manipulating the Shade to react accordingly - If Fea attacked, the shadow would dodge, if she moved back, it would lash out, if she made a lunge, then it would draw apart at the middle, splitting both ways before resuming its original form.
With the ability for his shadows to cause actual physical harm now, the Shadowmancer knew he would have to be careful not to overdo things - the Wolf herself was fast which meant that in order to be 'safe' he had to be faster...but even he couldn't have predicted the moment when a particular scent tingled the senses of the young Canine and Fea seemed to pause, turning her head to follow the scent before letting out a yelp as a lunge from the shadow caught her off guard and knocked her back a few feet.
Tala's eyes widened as he heard her yelp and he dismissed the Shade immediately - darting through the dispersing gloom to her side as she stood up, shaking herself off from head to tail before shooting him a wolfy-grin and licking his face... "Fea! Are you okay?"
The Wolf of course was perfectly fine - and she hoped that the swift lick to the male's face would help reassure him of that - but rather than focus solely upon her Pack-Brother who insisted on apologising to her, Fea's attention would return to that familiar scent to which she would cast a glance around the Arena...
"There you are!" With her tail wagging with excitement, Fea would nuzzle the Shadowmancer once more before making her way up towards the doors where a certain Elementor would be observing quietly.
It would be natural for Tala to want to ask 'what was up' with the Wolf, but as he followed her trajectory, he quickly realised there was no need to ask, "Eyrli?" He hadn't expected to see anyone in the arena that day, but it was certainly a pleasant surprise, "Are you here to train?" Rising to his feet, he would tilt his head - it seemed as though the pair were starting to adopt one another's traits - but that was a silly question, why else did people attend the arena...beside to watch?
It didn't matter her reason for being there however, he would welcome her all the same, making his way up towards the Elementor before taking a moment to ensure Fea was completely fine, "Would you like to join me?"

Eyrli smiled in their direction once Fea had spotted her and was pushed to get Talas attention before moving towards the girl. Crouching down to Feas level she then caught the canine mid sprint to ruffle the fur on her back and neck. Ahhh! Soft as ever..! Eyrli could easily just play with any soft animal all day long if she wanted to. The feeling was so soothing. Looking towards the classmate when he also walked over the girl waved quickly as she'd hop to her feet.
Nodding at Talas question on whether she was here to train Eyrli bumped her knuckled together, a few brief sparks flickering around her fists. The girl was feeling increasingly excited as having somebody else around meant she had somebody to work with! And it would just so happen he would next be asking if she wished to join! Eyrli was now tapping her foot on the ground in a pattern. Although she'd realise right after that she was not chatting with Lelyna right now. Oh! Right! Stopping herself the girl took out her notebook and scribbled a quick message, her cheeks flushing a little with embarassment, regardless whether or not the boy caught on to her little error.

Tala Maxwell ~ Entering Combat Wing - Arena ~ Fea was lucky not to have bowled the Elementor over as Eyrli met her mid-leap, but the Wolf was always up for a fuss and the Storm Brawler always knew the best spots to scratch! She greeted the girl as always with an excited lick to the face, sitting down as Eyrli rose to her feet to acknowledge Tala who was now making his way over.
Her ears flicked backwards as the Elementor brought her knuckles together - the clicking of the sparks wasn't necessarily obnoxious, but spurred her curiosity and had she not instead been urged to shake herself from head to tail - dispelling the small tingle of static lifted the fur along her back - she may just have stood on her hind legs to investigate... Her attention was soon drawn elsewhere however and the Wolf would lean forward and focus her ears on the Storm-Brawler's foot as it began to tap in a strange rhythm - she of course tilted her head at this, but soon lost interest as it came to a stop.
"I've been training with Fea," He heard the Elementor's foot tapping, but without wanting to draw attention to it, perhaps put it down to her excitable nature and eagerness to get to training? "But I think you saw that, right?" he tilted his head, uncertain as to how long she'd been standing there watching... "I could always make a few Shades for you to spar against? They're getting a lot stronger now," he actually seemed quite proud to admit that, but would wait to read Eyrli's next answer - Quite eager to see if she had any suggestions herself, Profile Location: Combat Wing - Arena Clothing: Wearing This With: Fea, Eyrli Feeling: OoC "" ""

Though it was removed shortly into the morning, caution never hurt.
The fellow Elementor spoke about his training with Fea as well as proposing she sparred against the boys shadows. It was actually an interesting idea and... If it wasn't hazardous then perhaps Eyrli did not have to worry about restraint. She looked to Fea then back to Tala while she wrote a briefly message. to hand her friend.
"That would be nice. Fighting them doesn't... Hurt you though, does it?"
While Eyrli would certainly love to let loose and give it her all she would not allow herself to do so if it would affect a friend. Giving him time to read and reply she wondered about the potential of combining her raiment more fluently into her hand to hand. When used as a defense it could be used to possibly force reactions... Though how she could utilise it would require her to experiment. Question is would the boys raiment allow her to do so... They aren't quite living creatures. She would certainly not get the same kind of reaction from a shadow... Right? Her face took on a frowny look temporarily while she was busy dwelling on her own thoughts. This is EXACTLY why I gotta stop doing that! Over thinking was easy for her. As a result the girl often did her best to keep everything she did based on instinct and gut. Using so much time to ponder was such a waste. _ _ _________________________________________________ โฟ Mood: Giddy | Company: Tala, Fea | Wearing: [Storm Brawler] โ

Tala Maxwell ~ Entering Combat Wing - Arena ~ Tala took her note and read it through, a smile appearing on his lips as he picked up on her concern for whether or not his shadows being attacked would in turn cause him harm. He lifted his eyes and opened his mouth to answer her, pausing as he noted the additional look of worry upon the Storm Brawler's face before shaking his head and smiling a little stronger, "Not a chance." he hoped his smile would reassure her, "Just don't hit Fea...it would take Ages to brush out her fur again!"
"Was that an attempt at a joke?" Fea lifted her head, flopping an ear back as though trying to understand the male's humour, her disapproving expression didn't last for long however as once again, this female had managed to spur her Pack Brother into a smile - She was definitely a rare creature that was for sure!
"Shall we make a start?" Without a second thought, Tala held his hand out to the Elementor, his intention to guide her down into the centre of the arena where they had more than enough space to spread out. Fea of course took this as an opportunity to dart on ahead of them, practically skipping down the steps - her tail swishing this way and that as she moved - before turning around to wait for the pair to descend behind her. But she wasn't cruel enough to tease the canine like that and was found the image alone to be funny enough. The girl looked to her friend again. At least he'll be fine! A look of relief on her face after his answer regarding the shadows. It meant she could put in extra effort!
Eyrli looked to the boys hand as he held it out to the mute, each sign of the boy taking initiative was nice to see and the girl could hardly resist making mental notes of these actions, grinning chidishly to herself while taking his hand and strolling over to the middle of the arena. She stared at the wolf who sprinted ahead, finding herself instinctively skipping along from just watching Feas excited movements. Whenever they were in position the Elementor moved from her classmate and pulled her gloves up her arms a little. Now her goofy smile was leaning towards a more confident grin, a look that could seem like she was awaiting a challenge. Her focus had quickly shifted to the reason she was here to begin with. She was looking to Tala and awaiting either a comment or his raiment before adopting her own stance. _ _ _________________________________________________ โฟ Mood: Cheerful | Company: Tala, Fea | Wearing: [Storm Brawler] โ

Tala Maxwell ~ Combat Wing - Arena ~ Tala certainly found Eyrli's excitement intoxicating, he still couldn't quite tell how she was able to influence him into feeling so much better when she was around, but as she took his hand, he would beam back at her, then follow Fea down the steps into the Arena itself.
Sharing the pair's animation, the young Wolf made a swift lap of the stadium before skittering to a halt in a sort of 'play-bow' as she waited for her Pack Brother to begin.
"Now...how are we going to do this?" The Shadowmancer took a brief moment to ponder, asking aloud just incase his fellow Elementor had any ideas, "How about we start off with small targets and then move onto something a bigger?" He'd been practicing a lot in his spare time, so the smaller 'creature' seemed to form a lot easier when he willed them to.
He would nod as he came to a decision before looking towards Eyrli with a smile and raising his hands - just a fraction - from where they had come to rest at his waist. "On your guard," With the beautiful summer sky above them - along with the patchy clouds, there were shadows practically everywhere and so, drawing them from the shade of a passing cloud, he would look to his friend and lift the dark shape from the ground.
"Let's try a little target practice first maybe?" Splitting the initial shade into several smaller shadows, Tala would cast a brief glance between the pair before splitting them once again - Of course, if there were to be sparks flying around, he didn't want to risk any unexpected 'shocks' and so relocated himself so he now stood behind Eyrli, "Ready when you are."
As he said that, the little ball-like shades began to roll, at first, they moved in a circle before adapting their route into a figure of eight - he wasn't sure how the Storm Brawler would take these 'creatures' but was ready to adapt their shape and movement accordingly to make it a little more of a challenge should she will it.

๐๐ โฅโฅ_____________________ Profile โฃ Temper: None_________________________________________________ _ _ Eyrli was watching the boy with anticipation as he spoke of starting with smaller targets, something she was rather content with to be honest. It may help hone her skills in precise movement and targetting, especially if they were gonna be relatively mobile. She looked to Fea with a smile before returning attention to the Shadowmancer. The girl was curious about the boys slight change of posture until shadows started to form about them. She found herself staring at the shadows with a look of awe of her face as those same shadows started to split apart into smaller shapes. That... Is... So... Neat! Eyrli had seen brief examples of his abilities but it was another thing to see it being used so much more openly like this. Part of her even took it as a challenge for her to show her own abilities in response.
Once set up Tala was moving away from the center and the shadows, now taking on a spherical appearance, started rolling around. All the small moving circles moving around in a loop certainly made it tough to super focus on a single one, though in a way she wouldn't entirely need to do that? Closing her eyes the Elementor concentrated on the faint electrical energy that begun to flow round her hands once again. This time though the currents were quick gaining intensity, a short flash of sparks would come to life up to her elbows and the electricity was now coating her arms and hands in a more noticable, frantic flow.
The clicking sounds of the electricity were a little louder now. Eyrli set her eyes back to the rolling shadows and within a short second, held her arm out with her palm facing a point in the loop. The sparks instantly shot round to her palm and condensed briefly before leaping forward in a straight line, blasting directly into the ground and catching a couple of the orbs in a flash of lightning. At the very least there should be some kind of reaction, but the girl would hardly expect them to conduct to other nearby shadows. _ _ _________________________________________________ โฟ Mood: Competitive | Company: Tala, Fea | Wearing: [Storm Brawler] โ

Tala Maxwell ~ Combat Wing - Arena ~ With the shades moving more rhythmically now, Tala was able to leave them running on the back-burner and turn his attention towards the Elementor as she began drawing forth her Raiment - It seemed to start at her hands, with small flickers of light soon travelling up her arms and growing more intense as the sound of crackling started to resonate around arena...
Realising she was going to be sitting this one out, Fea had moved across to where her Pack Brother now stood and lay down beside him with her head on her paws. The move intrigued the Shadowmancer, but Tala would presume that with all the talk of turning her into a fluff-ball, she was perhaps subconsciously grounding herself should any stray spark fly off in her direction...
Although he would never admit it, as the Storm Brawler discharged her initial shot, the Shadowmancer had almost jumped out of his skin - Having left the orbs to continue rolling around in their figure of eight, he'd presumed the Elementor would take just a little bit longer to charge herself up and so he'd dropped his guard - and his gaze towards Fea, noting the Wolf's somewhat bored, yet patient huff before flinching as the sound of Eyrli's attack slammed into the ground, scattering static between several of the closer shadows whilst leaving a large scorch mark in its wake...
Blinking, he took a moment to recover from the attack before rallying round the remaining orbs and trying to look as though he'd only been mildly impressed. "Not bad," he would nod calmly, "You certainly took a few out with that blast..." Making a light grasping motion this time, he drew a few more shadows from the shade of another passing cloud before folding both hands over one another in a motion that would see the remaining orbs increase the size - rolling like the surface of a soap bubble until they became large enough that they would be much easier to hit, "How about targeting an individual one this time?"
Setting the spherical blobs moving again, Tala would spread them a little further apart, narrowing their route whilst ushering Fea back with a subtle wave of the hand... With two long lines and a short turn at each end, he started the orbs moving like one would see in a shooting range, "Your attack is pretty strong as it is and looks like it could take out a good crowd in a straight blast, but there might come a time when you need to target a specific enemy..." At no point did he want to stunt her style, but if he could get Eyrli to focus her attack towards a single target - rather than wiping out whatever lay in its path - then he could see her attacks becoming even more effective!Profile Location: Combat Wing - Arena Clothing: Wearing This With: Fea, Eyrli Feeling: Focused OoC >w< "" ""

๐๐ โฅโฅ_____________________ Profile โฃ Temper: None_________________________________________________ _ _ The girl was internally celebrating the results of her first strike, full of glee at the sight of the fair gap between the orbs trail where she had struck. Despite living with it, Eyrli was always amazed by the sight of lightning crashing down on a location of her choice. It was kind of thrilling... Even still. It needs to be stronger... Her smile faded a little. She did not feel powerful enough in truth. And it was irritating. Just as the hint of her anger showed, the sparks along her arms appeared to grow more vibrant and aggressive along with her frustration. This was brief however as she snapped out of her mind upon the sound of her friend. The girl looked to Tala for a moment and then back to where the orbs were. This time they appeared larger as he suggested focused on one target rather than trying to blast away a group.
Eyrli was a little unsure how she should respond. It wasn't like she had the ability to condence her power to such a fine point. Much like her nature it tended to explode outwards as soon as it was let loose. Being able to direct it towards locations was about the most control she really had over it. With a silent sigh Eyrli pointed her palm out again as the raiment again flowed towards the centre. Even while her focus was on a single one of the shadows... The moment the lightning shot towards from her hand it splintered slightly, making a shocking impact on not just the point of focus but a little around it, followed by the brief static against the ground that threatened anything that would touch it during its brief existence. The girl understood what Tala was doing, but also was rather aware of the limits of using her raiment at a range. The damage would always be spread a little around the chosen focus point regardless...
The girls hand returned to her side and she'd look to the fellow Elementor once again. A slightly smaller smile on her face as she would shrug her shoulder. Just as she was ready to pull her book out for a note the girl got a strange feeling... Like something was wrong. Eyrli looked to the doorway of the room and her thoughts seemed to focus on her best friend. Lelyna..? Her smile was gone. There was a strange feeling of discomfort surrounding the Elementor. Why was she suddenly feeling uneasy? She continued to seemingly stare at the door, lost in her confusion in trying to understand where this feeling was coming from... _ _ _________________________________________________ โฟ Mood: Unsettled | Company: Tala, Fea | Wearing: [Storm Brawler] โ

Tala Maxwell ~ Combat Wing - Arena ~ To those that perhaps didn't know the full extent of Eyrli's Raiment, it wasn't necessarily all that obvious quite how hard the Elementor must had tried to follow the Shadowmancer's suggestion. The attack itself had been just as impressive as before, obliterating the target orbs and leaving their adjacent companions more than a little crispy, but Tala knew she was trying and commended her all the same - Perhaps with time and maybe some more stationary targets they'd be able to tweak her assault just enough to aid a comrade in battle without any collateral damage?
"That's a little better," he would nod, noting the look of slight disappointment upon her face, "How about if we tried a larger target, without it moving? Maybe that might work better...?" he drew what was left of the orbs back into a larger form, then split it into three spheres before glancing back towards his friend who seemed more quieter than usual...? "Are you ready to try again...?"
With her senses more acute to subtle changes in body movement than that of her Pack Brother, Fea rose from where she had laid down to watch and quietly padded her way over to the Elementor. Initially, she would tilt her head in a curious fashion, silently observing how the Eyrli stared so uncertainly towards the exit, then, building up a little confidence, she would advance just close enough to place a light lick on the underside of Eyrli's hand... Sometimes if she did this to Tala, the male would grab her nose lightly or give her a playful poke, but to this Elementor? She couldn't tell quite what had stalled the female in her training but the poor thing seemed so suddenly lost... ๐๐ โฅโฅ_____________________ Profile โฃ Temper: None_________________________________________________ _ _ Her attention to that unusual sensation she was feeling appeared to drown out her classmates voice, the world went silent around her. The image of her friend since childhood was the only thing that was clear in this moment in time... But why? ...Is she ok..? Part of the mute girl wanted to believe she was just overthinking matters. But for this to come so suddenly? It was too strange a feeling. Her smile had dropped completely by this point and it took the sudden feeling of something something nudging at her hand to pull out out of this... Bizarre sensation.
Eyrli looked down to the source of the contact to see the young wolf Fea licking at her hand. Realising where she was at again Eyrli looked to Tala, then to the canine again. She put up a small smile and gently scratched the back of Fea's ear. While the action did make the Elementor feel a little better, she could not quite shake off that strange feeling. She felt like she'd needed to find out what was happening. Hopefully she was just imagining things? But Eyrli did not want to bother Lelyna for the moment... Maybe one of the Court Mages. The girl almost thought to hurry off to get it over with... If not for her current company. She turned to Tala again.
After a brief thought she walked over to her friend and while in her head she knew to write a message, she could feel her hands shake ever so slightly. Was this how people felt when their words wouldn't come out? Her expression grew somewhat serious this time. The girl wanted to tell him she had to go... But, though a part of her did not wish to admit, she wanted help. It felt stupid that she wanted help for something potentially so small. How should she go about communicating with Tala right this moment though? With some hesitation the girl took out her book and steadied herself briefly to put a short note down to hand the boy.
