Thanks to emperor Pilaf making a wish on the black star dragon balls, not only is Goku a kid again, but the earth is in danger of exploding unless the black star dragon balls are gathered within a year's time.

Goku, Pan, and Trunks fly off in a spaceship built by Bulma to find the black star dragon balls, but not before Goku had a little fun with a pair of kidnappers.

Having to crash land on a planet called Imecka where a greedy mafia lord named Don Ki is charging everyone an exorbant amount of money, things get worse for Trunks, Pan, and Goku. Their dragon radar gets swallowed by a small robot and their broken ship gets confiscated.

Goku, Pan, and Trunks successfully steal the ship back, but in doing so, they have landed themselves on the most wanted list. Don Ki will do anything to see these three dead.

They arrive on a planet where everything is huge including the people. They find the dragon ball, but it gets stuck in an apple and then in a giant's mouth. Goku goes in to get it and has to use his signature technique to do a little dentistry. They get the ball and are now on the hunt for the second one.

Our heroes locate the 6 star ball next, but in order to get it, Trunks has to pretend to be a bride for a giant mudfish named Zoonama who can supposedly make earthquakes by shaking his whiskers.

Trunks succeeds in his role even when his cover was blown, but then a massive earthquake with an erupting volcano did happen. Goku saves the day there by using a Kamehameha on the exploding mountain. But, just before they could take off with their prize, a mysterious alien steals the ball and takes off in his ship. Now our heroes must follow the alien to get back the prize they had won.

The alien is part of a trio called the Para Para brothers that serve a cult for the evil diety Lord Luud. Luud's bodyguard Cardinal Mochi has the power to change people into dolls as sacrifices. The para para brothers are told by the cardinal that the people that they stole the 6 star ball from has another ball on their ship, so the para para brothers go back to planet Beehey to steal the 4 star ball while our heroes deal with the giant worms that call Beehey their home.

Our heroes found a way to beat the worms of Beehay when the Para Para brothers made our heroes dance to exhaustion. When the worms recovered, the worms attacked the para para brothers, showing our heroes some respect. Then our heroes defeated the para para brothers. While looking for the dragon ball that our heroes weren't aware was on Planet Luud, Pan had Giru launch the Para space ship destined for Planet Luud. Trunks and Goku could only watch in horror that once again Pan did something stupid.

Pan and Giru find Lord Luud and Moochi Moochi where they were discovered and Pan was turned into a doll. Trunks, Goku, and the Para brothers arrive next, and had their hands full dealing with Cardinal Moochi. The Para brothers were also turned into dolls, but Goku and Trunks evaded capture.

Master Dalltaki has Pan in his primate paws as he turns all of the followers into dolls for Luud's resurrection. Meanwhile, Goku and Trunks defeat Moochi and are now about to try and stop Luud as Luud is about to awaken.

Thanks to Daltaki's superior named Dr. Myuu, Daltaki was turned into a doll and then he and Pan were blown into Luud's sacrificial urn where Pan's and Daltaki's energy was absorbed by Luud. Meanwhile Goku and Trunks are having a time of the century trying to defeat Luud and will now find it even harder to defeat him.

Daltaki revealed that if a blast from inside Luud and outside Luud were to hit Luud's heart at the same time then all of Luud's captives could escape unharmed. And so, using the words Picklepot, pepperpot, and something else, Goku and Pan hit Luud's heart at the same time and thus setting the prisoners free and Luud destroyed. Daltaki escapes the planet in hopes of doing worse next time.

Our heroes arrive on a planet of sand and after treating Pan like a baby, Pan runs away and gets herself lost. Giru goes to help Pan and discovers not only a dragon ball, but an oasis to help the ship too. He helps Pan out and then gets Trunks and Goku so that the 4 of them can get off of the planet together.
