After being reinstated as a Shinobi, Mina asks Roku to train her back into tip top shape. Hopefully she can truly overcome her fear of fire with the help of the brooding Uchiha.

“Hi Roku, I was wondering if you could train me!” Mina asked with her face split into a wide smile. It only lasted for a moment before the redhead sighed dejectedly. “No no, that won’t work, it's too forward…” She mumbled to herself. “Hi Roku, it’s me, Mina! But you.. Probably… knew that already…” The Chunin cupped her chin with her forefinger and thumb as she paced just outside of the Uchiha’s living space. It had been a while since Mina had even interacted with Roku. In fact the last time they saw each other was at the hospital.
Mina stopped pacing for a second to remember that. Seeing Roku go for his sword so quickly was… Well it definitely made sense in hindsight. But it didn’t make it any less unnerving. But maybe it would be best if the young woman found someone else to help her, someone that she hadn’t failed so drastically. Mina shook her thoughts, any of them, from her head. It had to be Roku. His showing with fire release and his overall skill made him the only one she could trust. So with a newfound determination Mina went to knock on the door.
Battlefield Presence → The user's powerful presence on the battlefield strikes terror into their foes. Opponents are able to sense the user's terrifying fighting spirit five feet from the user per body rank of the user through chakra sense. Those within range can have this radiating fearful aura become the trigger for genjutsu, allowing genjutsu to be cast by acknowledging the user. In addition, should an opponent be targeted by a melee technique that is greater in rank than the target's body rank that target has tier two paralysis applied to their legs, requiring it to be broken by Kai equal to the user's body rank, costing the target no action for that specific instance of kai.
Master of Deception → With genjutsu, realism and the sensory ability of the target factor heavily into the ability of the victim to realize they are in a genjutsu. The illusionist chooses [1] Sense of Specialization that will render a genjutsu cost [1] rank less if the casted genjutsu's primary sense is their specialization. Genjutsu that use the illusionist's Sense of Specialization as the primary sense become resistant to the sensory powers of sages and non-Infinite Perception discipline scholars. This resistance means that the genjutsu will go unnoticed from these abilities. Since the illusionist has become so adept in their Sense of Specialization they may always weave it into genjutsu as an Additional Sense unless it would bring the illusion's sensory control above the [5] limit. The illusionist may also always select any Additional Sense that is not their Sense of Specialization to add to a genjutsu as long as it does not exceed the cap of [5] manipulated senses.
Sense of Specialization: Touch
Erudite Academic → You compromise on excelling at one to be proficient in both sealing and sensory. The Academic's body is considered a scroll so seals can be used and stored on your direct body. Your body may be treated as three scrolls equal to their body rank. If you are double class and have a second discipline from this class then you may add the five slots to your mirrored amount of ninjutsu, using these techniques for ninjutsu, sealing and sensory. Fuuinjutsu and sensory skills do not require handseals and are one rank less in chakra cost (Following the one rank max reduction rules) All three of your actions can be used on fuuinjutsu and/or sensory for one post every three posts in combat. In addition, the duration of all sealing techniques and all sensory techniques are increased by two posts. Finally, Erudite Academic Ninja have the ability to Korabo their fuuinjutsu and sensory for 1 action with varying cooldowns depending on the rank of the techniques. E-D - None C-B - 1 A-S - 2 S+ - 3
▱▰▱ Flames of Salvation | The user's effected fire based techniques effected by the active flame are reduced by 5 chakra for every other rank of the technique. ( D, B and S Rank ). In addition, fire based techniques are considered one rank lower against the user.
▱▰▱ Inferno Mastery | The user gains four additional ninjutsu slots to be used specifically for katon techniques per body rank. Additionally, hand signs may be executed with one hand. The user's fire techniques all cause an additional post of burning while adding an additional tier of burning/burns to fire based techniques.
▱▰▱ Fanning Flames | The user's fire based techniques may be doubled in size for no additional cost. This does not effect the strength of the user's fire based techniques. In addition, should the user's fire ninjutsu or clan techniques interact with another fire based technique, the user's technique steals one rank of chakra from the opposing technique. If this overpowers the opponents technique, this technique continues on it's path normally.
▱▰▱ Martial Magnetism | After establishing direct physical contact and using the Magnetizing Technique on an enemy, the magnetic attraction between the Jiton user and the enemy becomes so strong that the enemy's agility is reduced by [1] point per body rank of the user for a maximum reduction of [6] points at S+ rank. Physical contact can include using a melee weapon.

• The user is able to add their active flame type to their fire based techniques. Doing so requires five additional chakra per rank of the technique affected. This chakra spent counts towards a techniques strength during clashes.
• Flames of Strength | This flame burns hotter than other traditional flames. The user's flames have the ability to create concussive blasts that either throw targets five feet per rank of the technique or can propel the user five feet per rank of the technique. • Flames of Entropy | This flame has the ability to deteriorate certain objects and materials it interacts with, causing them to crumble away while not actually burning targets. Ninjutsu lesser in rank and chakra composition than the user's effected technique are disintegrated and allow for the flames to continue by paying an additional difference between techniques to retain strength. Objects which include weapons and armor not containing chakra may be disintegrated by flames equal to that weapon's rank. • Flames of Conductivity | The user's flame techniques gain the ability to 'conduct' through one successfully stricken target and strike at another target for no extra cost by lowering the technique's strength by one rank. • Practitioners are able to use basic combat physical strikes with knife hands, changing their blunt damage causing attacks to inflict damage akin to bladed weapons.

Instead of calling these weapons back to the user, they are able to be manipulated by the chakra threads they are attached to in a similar manner to puppet strings.The chakra threads attached to the weapons remain active for three posts and techniques can be executed from the Manipulating Line technique as though thrown by the user if desired.
▰ Shuriken Hunter | Rank S | Training The user's scavenging skills ensure that they are always able to find new shuriken lying about and retrieve their used weapons. This ensures they never carry less than 200 small projectile weapons.
▰ Undertow | Rank D | Training This training focuses on using movement when you attack, carrying that much more force. After this skill is trained, any attack that follows a dodge or evasive technique is treated as a counterattack, and the user's total bonus to agility can be attributed to the strength of the next attack. When this ability is performed it cannot be used the following post.
▰ Repeating Wave | Rank B | Training The user's training has focused on their agility ability to strike while avoiding harm. Once every three posts, the user may utilize an offensive technique that targets a specific part of the target's body that would disrupt their attack. This offensive attack deals damage regularly but allows the user to use their remaining activations as offensive as well.
▰ Kyotoryuu Conditioning: Sunflower | Rank S | Training As a result of intensive training geared toward defensive and evasive maneuvers, the Kyotouryuu practitioner can now effectively react to an opponent by converting their speed into an agility boost for two posts with a three post cooldown. This requires no activation or resource cost.
▰ Double Fissure | Rank C | Training The user is able to perform a very fast 2-hit combination with any physical strikes from this style without consuming an additional activation. The second technique must be executed at or below the rank of the first.
▰ Moving Fissure | Rank A | Training By using a quick twist of the hips, the user can change the momentum of a kick that has been executed in order to change it's direction completely. Doing so requires half the cost of the technique be paid and the newly directed attack gains an additional [1] point increase to speed per rank of the technique. ▰ Heavy Punch | Rank E | Training The basis of the style, punch hard, punch first. The user is able to spend stamina in order to increase the strength of their punches for no activation. For each rank applied, a [1] point increase to strength is conferred.

The strikes are now counted as spiritual when interacting with other techniques and carry the user's full stat increases of simple techniques. These chakra orbs range ten feet per rank of the parent technique.

Roku hadn't been leaving his house much lately. Much of his time was spent fixing his family's' home that he had been living in since he was born. The fight between his mother, his father and himself had left much of the small residence destroyed. Through much of his own personal time and much more ryo, a decent portion of the house was now fixed. It was clearly still damaged, but it was at least livable.
On this particular day Roku was out in the courtyard fixing his mother's garden. Not that there was really any fixing a garden and more so he was just beginning a new one. He was just planting a group of gladioli when he heard a knock at his front door. The man sighed as he pushed himself up to his feet from his position in the dirt. With a few pats the dirt on his knees would quickly be dusted off of his pants. 'Who could possibly wanna see me right now?' Was a question he had, but wasn't sure he wanted an actual answer to. Before he answered the door he activated his sharingan to pierce through the wooden door.
It was certainly a surprise to see Mina was the one who had come to his door. The man hadn't seen her since he had visited her in the hospital all that time ago. That day felt so long ago. His journey to Amegakure had really felt like it lasted years. Roku's eye's deactivated and his hand reached for the handle and opened it completely. "Oh hey Mina. How are you feeling? I'm glad to see you're out of the hospital." Roku would step to the side of the door frame to allow Mina to step in. "Please please come in. Just watch your step. I've been doing some recent construction and there's occasionally loose floorboards and stuff... I... I don't think I'm good at building a house." Roku would say followed by a gentle chuckle.

Mina seemed more flabbergasted that Roku even answered the door. She was half expecting her to have gotten his address wrong if the state of the building was anything to go off of. And did the Uchiha just laugh? The redhead was becoming more convinced she was in the wrong place by the second. But still the young woman entered when ushered inside by the young man. If at all possible the inside of Roku’s house was worse than the outside. It was surprising that anyone managed to find this living space adequate, let alone comfortable. The total state of disrepair didn’t fall in line with the Roku she knew. Mina had always known the reputation she had around the village, as being a spazzy klutz that was easily excitable and prone to being late. Even as she grew older, one of her key features had always been her passion. But Roku, in her experience, was quite the opposite. A well maintained and regimented shinobi that existed in stark contrast to the space he lived in.
At least the garden was nice.
“What happened?” Mina breathed as she looked around the ruined home.
Roku's eyes moved about the room after Mina asked what had happened. "Long story." Roku would say, not really wanting to answer the question. It was still sore subject for the yozen as he hadn't had the time to really process everything quite yet. Soon after though he realized that Mina likely was going to push for a more in-depth answer than what he had given her. The man sighed softly and began to walk out toward the garden once more. "Let's take a walk out to the garden." Roku would say on his way out before he stop just short of the flowers he had placed down not long ago. "I finally found out the type of man my father was. I already had an inkling as to his true character, but I could never be sure." The man's voice was solemn as he spoke, not once looking up from the garden. "I found my home already like this when we came back from that New Verales mission. My mother was tied to that chair in living room." Roku took a deep breath as he forced back the pain in his throat. "My father killed my mother in front of me to force my sharingan to progress into the Mangekyou sharingan..." Tears began to stream down Roku's cheek at the mention of his mother. "He had planned it out even before I was born. The monster only had me so he could one day kill my mother and me as a means of gaining the ultimate form of sharingan..." Roku's hand went to his eyes and rubbed gently at each of them. "So, that's what happened." The man would turn back around to face Mina. "What brings you here Mina?" He'd continue, trying to immediately get the focus of the conversation off of himself.

Mina wasn’t exactly sure what to say. From the short time she’d known Roku, he never appeared to her as an emotional person. Not unkind, but definitely reserved. But here he was opening up to her so easily. The events he described obviously had taken their toll on him. Mina felt a pang of guilt at the realization that she’d had her own outburst at the same time he’d been going through his own trauma. Not like she could have known, but the young woman still felt bad for making everything about her back at the hospital. Were the lives of all Uchiha drenched with this much blood?
Mina knelt down at the garden and gently caressed the leaves of one of the plants. The red head let out a breath as she resolved herself for what she wanted to do. “It looks like you’ve raised these flowers with care.” Mina turned over her shoulder to look up at the young man as he wiped his eyes. “I bet she would be proud of you.” Mina pressed her hands to her knees and, with a small groan, stood upright again. And then came the brass tacks.
Mina didn’t really feel super comfortable asking him for a favor now, of all times. At least not all by itself. “Well, Inohachi got me to come here.” She lied. Mina hoped that the Yamanaka wouldn’t catch too much flak for her little fib. “She’d mentioned you’d been having a rough time, so I volunteered to come check in on you. You know how she can get.” Mina answered, scratching the side of her face with her index finger. “And I, uh. I needed to come ask you something anyway. I was, uhm. Wondering if you’d be able to train me?”
Mina’s heart sank instantly. She knew it was bad form to ask something of someone while they were going through hard times. She needed to let him sort out his own thoughts and feelings; that’s what she would’ve liked. “Noworriesifyoucan’tItotallyunderstand.” Mina quickly added on, nervously waving her hands in front of her. “Just… whenever you feel up to it is all.”
"I hope so. They're her favorite." Roku would say in response to Mina's comment about the flowers he had planted. His hand continued to wipe away at the tears that had fallen, attempting to pull himself together in some type of way. "Inohachi?" Roku's ears and eyes perked up a bit at the mention of the Yamanaka's name. He did find it the slightest bit strange that she wouldn't just come and check in on him herself. Then again there was a good chance that she was busy with shinobi life. It seemed like everyone around the village was constantly buzzing around with various tasks from the Hokage. That made the most sense to Roku, so he didn't really bother to question it too much. He would just have to thank her later for being thoughtful of him.
Then came Mina's request for training. 'Training from me? I feel like Mina could take me on if she really felt like it. What could she possibly learn from me?' The man immediately thought to himself. There would be a brief and almost awkward moment of silence after Mina had posed her question. The moment was produced by Roku thinking over whether or not he could or even should train Mina. After the moment of contemplation, Roku shrugged his shoulders gently. "I can train you if you want Mina. We can even go right now if you would like, but why do you want me to train you?" Roku asked rather bluntly. It was one of those things that he could think about, but would really never have an answer unless he asked.

Mina took in a breath. This was it, her chance to get back to where she needed to be. “I, uh.” The red head paused as self doubt reared its head, as it did reflexively these days. The young woman shook her head, shook those thoughts from her head, and pressed forward. “I’m planning on asking Lady Hokage for my position back as a shinobi. And I’ve been pretty lazy since I quit, so I need someone to whip me back into shape.” Mina answered, her voice hard with resolve. It showed in her face and eyes, too. A far cry from the dullness that existed in her in the hospital. “And I wanted to ask you because… you’re the only one I can ask.” She eventually settled on. She still hadn’t forgiven her adoptive mother for lying to her. And something about her last session with Kai made Mina hesitant to bother him with this. “After what happened in New Verales, I’ve got this sort of phobia around fire now. And your showings with fire jutsu are magnificent! You’d be able to help me with it easily. And, uh… you were there. I feel like there’s some sort of bond with that by itself, that you’d know what I’m worried about happening.” Mina tilted her head at the young man with a questioning look in her eyes. “You know?”
Roku looked at the various left over scorch marks that were scattered throughout the house and area. "I think I know what you mean." Roku paused a moment. "And don't blame yourself for Verales. There was far too many variables that we weren't prepared for." The man sighed to himself before looking around. "If you don't mind I think we should go somewhere else to train and get you back to being a shinobi." Roku said before leaving the courtyard and through the front door of his house after seeing if this would be acceptable to Mina. Once out of the door, Roku would lead Mina to the Arena in Konoha. When they reached the entrance, Roku would stop both Mina and himself. "Wait here a second. I'm going to ask if they'll change the fighting area up a bit for what I have in mind." The man would enter the arena immediately after. A short amount of time would pass before the noise of earth being moved inside the arena became apparent. Then soon after that Roku would return to Mina.
"It's ready." The man would turn on his heels and walk himself back into the actual arena. As he walked into the arena, it would look as though they were stepping into another village. A rather familiar village. It was a replica of New Verales itself. Not a full scale version, but specifically where Mina had her fight with Liam. There was a stage and everything. Although the village was deadly quiet in comparison to the day they were there as genin. The entire set up was almost a ghost town. After entering, Roku turned around once again to face Mina. "Your fear of fire ends today."

Following quietly behind Roku, Mina wondered what was going through his mind right now. They weren’t exactly the closest friends, but they still had a bond. And it worried Mina to see the Uchiha so bent out of shape, since he always gave off an air of perfectionism. Maybe Roku would benefit from the training sessions as well, as a way to get his mind off of the tragedy he’d experienced recently. She wanted to reach out to him while they walked, and the desire created a slowly growing cloud of uncertainty over the two of them. “Hey Roku-” She would start, before they made it to their destination.
Mina let out a breath, letting her question die on the tip of her tongue quietly. “Right, sure thing.” She’d reply to his request to wait at the entrance. She complied, and a short amount of time later Roku came back and led her inside. Mina let out a gasp as she stared in wonder at the recreated village. “I had no idea the arena could do something like this. And on such short notice, too!” Her expression turned a little sly as she nudged Roku with her elbow. “Roku, what kind of friends do you have?”
It took her a few seconds after her jab to realize the recreation of the arena. Her smirk faded and replaced a more serious look. Before her training with Kai, Mina would probably have frozen. Even still, her hands trembled as she tried to keep the nightmares from that from flooding her mind. But there was a fire in her eyes despite it all as she locked eyes with Roku. “I’m ready.”
"Good ones." Roku had to ponder on the question a moment. He didn't really consider himself having that many friends. In fact that group of people could probably be counted on the fingers of a single hand. "The arena can be adjusted by the shinobi that tend to it. It's convenient for training." The man would reply, before walking further into the village toward the podium. Truthfully Roku didn't expect Mina to be ready almost immediately upon entering the arena. He figured that she would need a moment to adjust to the familiar site. Well, if she was ready he figured he might as well jump right into it. Roku locked eyes with his squad mate, his arm slowly becoming enveloped in black flame. The flame began from his fingertips and grew until it met his elbow.
"Fire is unique. It's ancient, essential, and inevitable. We know that with fire we wield power. With this power we can destroy evil and promote good. On the other hand, fire can be used to end worlds." Roku slowly began to pace in a circle around Mina, examining his hand surrounded by flame. "Fire can be used for creation. The warmth and light we have here now is from a massive ball of flame. It gives us life. Fire is fundamental to our world and essential to any process of change." Roku dropped his hand down toward the ground. As he did so, the black flame on his hands would slowly begin to drip to the ground, creating a wall of flame. "In a way, fire is a shapeshifter all it's own. It's power is determined by its wielder. We as the wielder must accept what fire is at it's core. Death and Rebirth." Roku would stop where he was once the circle of flame had been completed. "Our flames are directly linked to our feelings and so we must keep them in check. The more angry you are or heated in a fight you are, the more chaotic your flames become. These are things I learned from a friend of mine." As Roku finished speaking, the black wall of flames would suddenly spin into a vortex surrounding Mina. The wall grew higher the quicker it span, quickly closing the top of the vortex. "Caw!" The noise rang out throughout the village as a phoenix nearly the size of a building formed from the vortex. The vortex itself quickly dissipating at the sight of the creature. The creature quickly landed directly behind Roku. "Mina this is Willow."

Truth be told, Mina was still nervous. She could feel herself quivering deep down inside. No matter how much she tried to quash her own fears down, they threatened to spring back to the surface. And the sight of New Verales, even a model, was enough to get the memories of that day to force themselves out. But as Mina listened to Roku’s explanation on fire, she shook the doubts from her head. She needed to be strong! Stronger than she was that day.
Mina’s eyes followed the flow of Roku’s black flames. While she was enthralled with the beauty of the Uchiha flames, how they moved and danced, the Chunin couldn’t help but wonder why they were like that. The sudden jump in the flames made Mina flinch. Why are the Uchiha always so god damn dramatic? She thought as a giant crow burst from the flames. Mina was taken aback by the sight of the crow, but thoughts of admiration went through the back of her mind. About the control needed to form a crow like that from fire. It was astounding.
Of course, it wasn’t enough to distract Mina from the over the top situation. “N-nice to meet you Willow!” Mina stammered, clearly uncomfortable with Roku’s flair for dramatics, but not trying her best not to show it. “My name’s Mina! I hope we can be friends!” She continued with a bow. And that you aren't going to eat me...
Roku eye's moved over Mina, watching her to make sure the experience wasn't going overboard. The man realized he was practically using a method of shock therapy, but it was really the only way he had ever learned before. Dealing with his fears directly. Roku's hand slowly moved up toward Willow, his hand entering the flame on her neck to give the large Pheonix a petting. "Willow enjoys new friends." Roku said with a smile as he looked up at the large creature who seemed to be enjoying it's pets. Strangely enough, the flames that would normally burn a person left Roku completely unharmed.
"Although she doesn't talk much, she taught me everything I know about fire." Roku's hand withdrew from Willow only to placed in front of his chest as if he were holding something. Not soon after, Roku formed a ball of flame that mimicked the sun nearly perfectly. "There's stories that go back hundreds of years. Stories of the origination of flame. My mother used to tell me a story about two dragons who taught the first person to breathe fire. They taught the man that Fire was more than just Death, but also life and energy. More importantly, they taught that there's a sun within us all." Roku moved the ball of flame toward Mina. "But, just like any flame, our sun has to be fed."
The ball of flame grew in Roku's hand. "For the flame we produce, that's chakra. But, our Sun needs something else. This is what I mean when I say we must keep our emotions in check." The ball of flame only grew further, beginning to become more chaotic. "The only thing that has changed about this flame is the emotions I'm using to fuel it." Although Roku showed no outward difference in his emotion, the man was thinking of what his father had done to his mother. The thought that killing his father had truly never filled the hole in his heart. If anything it only dug it deeper.
Roku closed his eyes and began to think more positively. The thoughts of his mother in her garden and of their trips down to the local store. The thought that his mother was finally at peace. "Harmony. In order to fuel our sun, that's what we must seek." The ball of flame began to grow once again within Roku's hands. The flames were different however, they were much more controlled. "Our sun and our selves must be at peace with one another. When we aren't at peace, our sun can never be." With that, the ball of flame died out. "It's a constant struggle, but with a little luck, a little preserverence, and a little help from our friends, we can be at peace with our selves. Just like Willow here. Willow is truly a master of her own sun."
The phoenix raised it's wings up into the sky almost as if to boast. Roku could only smile as he watched the creature, his hand going up to pet her abdomen. Roku himself was still not at peace, that was something he was very aware of. After all, all of his recent fights he could tell his sun was dying. Some part of him just hoped that it wasn't too late for him to reclaim that parts of him that were beginning to become lost.

“She’s very pretty…” Mina continued to watch Willow in awe as Roku spoke. The phoenix spread its wings proudly and the feathers seemed to glisten in the light, cursing the red headed Chunin’s eyes to do the same. The young woman hadn’t seen anything like Willow before, so she was still astounded with the bird’s majesty. This led her to falling once again into her bad habit of not listening. Not intently, anyway. Her gaze did shift to the ball of fire in Roku’s hand. But the words went in one ear and out of the other, as all she could think about was how cool it would be to fly on Willow’s back.
About a second or two after it was clear that Roku was done speaking, Mina finally removed her head from the clouds. She shook her head and let her focus return to the task at hand. “Yeah, Kai Uchiha said something similar to me. About how fire has just as much ability to give life as it does to take it away.” The shinobi looked down at her hand thoughtfully for a second. “But I just… Roku, every time I try to remind myself of that, I remember everything that happened in New Verales. The stench, and the screams, and the death… I can’t let that happen again.”
Mina had to take a breath to calm herself, and to bury the memories of that town. She clenched her fist and did her best to, at the very least, look determined. “But I can’t sit by and let Konoha be in danger, not when I can do something about it. So let’s get started, eh?” Mina took a stance similar to Roku’s, making sure to hold her hand out enough that neither of them could get burned. Then with an effort of will that came as easily to her as breathing, Mina conjured a small ball of flame in her palm.
Her fire was different from Roku’s. From anyone else’s for that matter. It burned crimson, and the way it moved seemed ethereal as glimmering embers formed within it. Kai remarked to her about how beautiful it was, but Mina knew just how volatile it could be too. Once the orb grew to the size of a small ball, it almost instantly began to shrink as Mina tried to smother the flame on reflex. She grit her teeth, hissing out a slow breath through them as she reversed the flame back to a larger size.
That was just the easy part. Mina let out a more relaxed breath and opened her eyelids, her crimson flame reflected in her emerald irises. She’d done similar exercises since her meeting with Kai. But the environment of the arena, surrounding her with the ghosts of New Verales, would prove to be an obstacle. At first Mina had a good grip on her emotions, taking slow breaths as she looked around. But soon the young woman wouldn’t be able to fight back against the memories.
Her pulse began to race as the scene around her shifted in her vision. Had there been people standing there before? Lurking in the shadows of the buildings? Mina looked around frantically as more and more human forms appeared around her and Roku. Her breathing began to quicken into something more shallow, sweat forming on her brow. Unbeknownst to her the orb of fire in her palm began to grow in size and began emitting sparks that turned into small orbital explosions. And then, faster than Mina had created the ball, she snuffed it out. The Chunin fell to one knee, panting heavily and visibly shaking, drops of sweat falling into the dirt.. The shades of New Verales slowly disappeared, but Mina still felt like she was going to be sick.
"Kai Uchiha? Don't think I've ever met them." Roku relaxed and stood in his normal relaxed position. "I suppose what I'm more saying Mina. Is that it's up to you to nurture your flame. It's you who controls it. IF you don't want it to happen again, then don't let it." Roku stood back a distance while Mina began the steps to producing a ball of flame in her hands and a rather impressive ball of flame at that. The color itself was mesmerizing to Roku, but before he could really examine it, it seemed Mina was having difficulty. The man expected it, after all he set the location for a reason.
Roku stood idly by as Mina looked around for shadows that didn't exist in the arena, her ball of flame beginning to become more and more rapidly out of control. "Mina you have to let go of that day. It's holding you back from stopping something like this happening again." Roku moved toward Mina and offered her a hand up from her kneeled position. "The longer you let yourself be frightened of your own flame, the longer you will sit back. The longer Konoha will be in danger the next time those jashinists, or bijuu, or gods show up at the door. If you truly want to protect Konoha, you better not let anything hold you back." The man hoped internally he wasn't being too rough on his teammate. He spoke with sincerity in his voice. He wanted the best for Mina, but he knew holding onto that day would never be good for her.
