As soon as she had received her letter for fourth year and it included a note about the Halloween party this year, Alice had planned the best costume for herself. She had shared her idea with Sebby, who had said he also wanted to be a character from Alice in Wonderland. The two had planned their costume to match and giggled about the idea together. She was ready to display her costume to everyone and spent almost an hour getting everything prepared before she got dressed. The dress she was wearing wasn't a one hundred percent match to the dress worn by Alice in the animated movie, but when you thrift everything, it's hard to make it a match. Uncle Seamus did buy her a stuffed rabbit that was a dead match for the White Rabbit though, so she had something soft to squeeze. Looking at herself in the mirror, the teen squealed in joy and hurried to go meet Sebby to see what his costume looked like. She almost forgot to stop and grab Aina on her way down, but remembered at the last minute. Leading her cousin by the hand, she hurried down to the Great Hall to meet up with Sebby. Her black shoes clicked against the stone as she walked, but she didn't mind. Alice was just very excited to be dressed as her namesake.

Seb was super, super duper excited about Halloween. Ever since Alice decided to be... well, Alice, he'd planned out his outfit. With a few trips to local thrift shops, clothing dye, and a bit of crafting skills, the Moons had made up a lovely outfit. Mama had even knit up a cat sweater in pink and purple, so he'd get to join in too. The night before the big party, Seb stripped out the remaining purple from his hair, instead making it vibrant orange. He borrowed some hair supplies from Roxie, then ended up just asking the older girl to help out. His hair was grown out a bit, then fluffed and frizzed to stick out just so. With a happy laugh, Seb hurried back to his room to finish getting ready.

Once all his outfit was on, Seb wrangled Zoot into his sweater. Sure, the cat frequently wore clothes, but he'd been sleeping! After a few well placed baps to his human's noggin, Zoot let himself be dressed and then carried like a baby to the Great Hall. "Alice!" Seb half-shouted as he entered the hall, scooting carefully past some other students and toward his friend. Once he reached her and Aina (in a very sparkly dragon outfit!), he giggled as he remembered his line. With a tilt of his hat, he said "A very merry unbirthday to you!" He laughed harder when Zoot (dressed as the Cheshire Cat) added in a squeaky meow toward the blonde.

Seb grinned brightly when Alice noticed him, then commented on his outfit. Apparently it was pretty heckin good! "Thank you! It was a lot of thrift stores and clothes dye. Also we went to the library for pictures too." He nodded, really quite proud of the work. Alice pulled him into a hug, causing Zoot to scramble to sit on his shoulder as Seb gave Alice a squeeze. It was always nice to get hugs from friends!

After remembering his line, Alice responded in kind, earning a set of giggles from Seb. "I reread the book so I'd remember that, by the way. I was nervous I'd forget. Also! Hi Aina! I like your costume. I would've signed that, but I don't know all the words, so hopefully you can hear me!" He sent over a bright smile toward Alice's younger cousin. Honestly, he had no idea if she liked him or not... but he'd keep being friendly until he figured it out.... maybe he'd ask Alice...

He watched with a grin as Alice did a twirl, ending by clapping his hands in a sort of applause. He was about to comment, but Alice got distracted and stole Zoot from Seb's shoulder. The cat meowed happily, using his front paw to lovingly press his pink toe beans on the blonde's cheek. "Yep! Mama knit him the little sweater! We found a pattern like... forever ago and then Mama modified it, y'know, because Zootie-Pootie's only got three leggies. And this time she made it with stripes. Thank goodness he doesn't mind wearing little outfits, right?" He giggled, petting his cat's head. Zoot, happily being cradled, purred as loud as his little body could, tail flicking happily.

Seb was glad that Alice seemed happy, even if he wasn't particularly keen on his itchy pants. Once he complimented Aina's outfit, he tried to follow along her signs. He didn't catch a couple of the words, but he got enough to figure it out. He thought for a second as he tried to remember the right signs for his words. "I think it is very nice... and also... s-h-i-n-y." He nodded happily, not sure he knew the right sign, but he did at least know the letters.

Zoot squeaked a bit when Alice shifted him, but stretched out on her shoulder. He chirped softly, reaching out his paw and bopping Aina gently on the head. His tail was waggling happily, the cat in his usual good spirits despite being in a sweater. Seb looked over at Alice when she mentioned getting candy. "Ooh yes! I definitely want some candy. Maybe they'll have some of the fancy chocolate from the Hogsmeade shop." He grinned over, offering a hand toward the blonde. Well... then again, she probably wanted to hold hands with Aina.... but he could always take Zoot instead... either way.

Ever since she was very little, Ella had always had a secret desire to dress up in those big, poofy ballgowns. Her mom had very seldom let her dress up, always making excuses that she wouldn't understand until she was older. When she was moved to Romania, she'd been excited to learn that the Antonov house had a huge ballroom! Her dreams were a step closer! And... well. That didn't exactly pan out. But from the rafters, she could watch the dances, using daydreams to escape reality.

But when told there was an event where she could where anything.... she immediately knew what to do. Seeking help from Linsey, they decided on something perfect to wear. Linsey would, of course, be the one to make the dress, and Milan reached out to his friend who made jewelry. What she hadn't been expecting was that he covered the costs as well. Maybe Linsey had told him how she'd wanted this? Either way, Ella was so very delighted to have this little dream come true.

With a bit of help from her roommates, her dress was on, then she asked Tàmhas to help with her hair. Thankfully, he'd been able to tie it up into a fancy hairdo, then helped her don her tiara. Honestly, she'd never felt more excited! She knew she'd need to get pictures taken to send home, but her friends might know who was taking pictures for the news. After making sure she was fancied up, Ella started walking toward the Great Hall. She was a little worried about standing out.... until she saw some of the other outfits.

One of the outfits she noticed was Alice and Sebastian, and Seb's cat, of course, as well as her cousin Aina, and Meallan and Rosa. Maybe they were a group? Or maybe Sebastian would know which news students were taking pictures! Ella, walking on quick feet, stepped over, a small blush as she felt the dress move about her. It just seemed so fancy! "Good evening, everyone. You all look lovely." She spoke quietly, not noticing Meallan adjust his hearing aids, then immediately lowering them back down. Ella was still a bit nervous, but hopefully it was all well.

Their costumes were all very interesting, from Alice and Sebastian's matching Alice in Wonderland outfits, Aina's sparkly dragon costume, then Meallan and Rosa's spider-people outfits. How fun! There had been a few coordinated outfits that she'd seen, and it was all so lovely. Had she known about the others, she might have tried to match, but also, she really liked her outfit. It just made her feel like royalty!
