xxx🍂xxx👻xxx💀xxxPᴜᴍᴘᴋɪɴ xxx Cᴀʀᴠɪɴɢ xxx Sᴛᴀᴛɪᴏɴxxx💀xxx👻xxx🍂xxxxxx𓅰xxx⚰︎xxx☠︎︎xxxᴀɴᴅ xxx Cʀᴀғᴛs xxx Aʀᴇᴀ xxx☠︎︎xxx⚰︎xxx𓅰xxx Located just outside the Great Hall's Antechamber, there's a station with all the gear needed to carve your own pumpkins, which can be entered into a pumpkin carving contest to be judged at the end of the night. Students are free to make their own designs and have fun! Professors are there to supervise and offer assistance (mostly because knives are at use!) The contest will have a few categories, including silliest, most detailed, coolest concept, and spookiest jack-o-lantern.
Not alone, there's a section of fun crafts as well, including suncatchers, perler bead Halloween crafts, and more!
*To participate in the Jack-O-Lantern Carving Contest, your post (one of them!) should include the below code! {{All are entered in the "Student's Choice" and "Professor's Choice categories"}}

xxxxx♥ Wʜᴀᴛ's Iɴsɪᴅᴇ Mʏ Hᴇᴀᴅ? Is it too obvious?!? There had been much debate in the Argyris house when the Hogwarts letter included a notation about a major Halloween event. Hesperia was tired of hiding the fact that she was a half-vampire since there was a growing belief that her parents' fears were misplaced. Her grandparents, however, still harbored the fear for their granddaughter. Hes wanted to dress up like Dracula, or at least, a female version of him, whereas her grandparents had suggested anything else. But Hes won out at the end and they had obliged her by buying the items she had requested. She dressed in a black goth dress and black leggings, then strapped on some black heels. Around her shoulders she draped the black and red cloak they'd ordered from the Halloween store, then added a red and black parasol. Bat earrings that were just too cute and a black choker with a red pendant. Naturally, since they might go outside, she brought her sunglasses because the sunlight actually hurt her eyes. With her parasol opened over her shoulder, she walked on over to the Great Hall Antechamber, over to the crafting section. This is where she'd said she'd meet up with Kasamir, who was wanting to try to match her costume. The teen was excited to see what he had come up with. While she waited for Kas, she looked over the pumpkin carving section and considered entering the competition. Hes didn't really have an artistic talent, but they had a silly section and she could definitely carve a silly face into a pumpkin. {OoC: Outfit linked in picture}

Tàmhas was super excited. Halloween was a fun holiday, and one of the few American holidays he was glad made it to the isles. Part of the fun of it for him, specifically, was doing up costumes that accented his leg... or lack thereof. This year, since he was at school and there were a ton of stairs (and also he was an adult, not a toddler that Pa could carry about), he decided to do something that would turn his extra leg into something sturdy.
Pairing up with Nic's idea, he decided to go as a pirate captain. He let his messy curls down and attached a wooden peg in place of the lower half of an older prosthetic. Thankfully Pa was good at whittling! It was a bit uncomfortable, especially compared to the fancy one Adelai's family had made for him, but at least the measurements made sure he was able to stand evenly. Thankfully, he could handle it for a while.
After he put his hat on, Tàm made sure everything looked nice, then he headed out of the Hufflepuff Common Room. He briefly stopped to help Ella with some hair pins, then he tipped his hat and walked up. He and Nic had decided to meet outside the Great Hall... which meant they'd be at the pumpkin carving area! Now that was something he was pretty good with. Maybe he could think of something good, especially if there was a contest. Maybe he could win? Not like he wasn't skilled with blades, and he felt himself a decent artist.... maybe if Nic wanted to do it too! He didn't want to hold up his date, after all.
As he was looking around, he did notice a friend standing nearby. "Gude evenin, Hesperia! Ah like yer outfit! Hae yersel a braw rest o yer nicht." He tipped his hat toward the girl, stepping away to keep eyes out for Nic. Unfortunately, he wasn't the tallest guy, so if it started getting crowded, he'd be all but doomed. But hopefully Nic would pop up soon, so that Tàm could finally see his outfit. Apparently it promised to be very showy.... and he couldn't admit that he was absolutely stoked about it.

After participating as heavily as he had in their Head Girl’s massive Carnivale project last school year, it was almost a letdown for Kasamir when it was announced the big shindig this year was a Halloween celebration. Almost a letdown, and more a bit of relief, as the event put a fair bit of strain upon the available time he had to help with the project. Still, if it meant he might see more interest in his fledgling Chess association, he would consider it time well-spent. As things worked out, it was time well-spent anyway, as it gave him opportunity to get to Hesperia a bit better, and even be the start of something really good.
When the whole thing was announced, and the call went out for folks to have costumes, it only made sense for Kas to coordinate with Hes, so they would make a nice-looking couple. She wanted to dress up as Lady Dracula, something he found amusing on several levels, so he needed to dress to fit. He imagined her arriving in a long, frilly black Victorian gown, ala the Bram Stoker novel (and yes, he read the book) and decided he should appear as how the character would have appeared in history.
He started with a full-length, long-sleeved chainmail hauberk that hung down to right above his knees, over a black long-sleeved shirt with dark purple leggings and a pair of high leather boots. Around his waist was a sword belt, with a longsword hanging in a scabbard at his side. Over top of this was the iconic long deep red frock coat with a faux fur half cloak over his shoulders. It was topped with a deep-red conical hat with white faux fur trim with a plume at the front. Finally, Kas wore a wig of long dark hair and a moustache to complete the image of Vlad Dracule.
The more he added to the costume, the more he was getting into the mood of the occasion, especially when he buckled the sword belt on. ‘Now, I feel like a proper escourt for Lady Dracula.’ When he was ready, he went up out of the catacombs to find Hes. They planned to meet at the Great Hall Antechamber, where there was a crafts section. Wandering around, he soon found Hes over near where the pumpkin carving section was, talking to Tam, who was dressed as a pirate, complete with a pegleg. Approaching, he gave her a courtly bow, and said, “Good evening, Lady Dracula. Hello, Tam.”

Tàmhas was waiting on Nic, then looked over when Kasamir walked over to join Hesperia. He sent over a smile when he was greeted, offering back a "Guid e'enin, Kasamir. Hope ye're awright."" And then, it was back to his vigil. Besides, he was sure the young couple didn't want him to just... be in their business. Besides, he was hoping for a little romantic time on his own. He was so excited for this event. What better way to spend a few hours snuggled up with a cutie?
There he was! Tàmhas sent over a bright grin as Nic appeared, cheeks curling into a bit of pink when Nic kissed his cheek. "There’s ma merman richt enough! Like a siren’s call, I’d follow ye tae the depths, love." He offered a smile as he lifted up to give Nic a more proper kiss. "Yer outfit turned oot reely guid! Mind, it’s a wee bit thanks tae the gid-lookin’ braw lad wearin’ it." He winked over, a mischievous sparkle in his bright eyes.

It was Tàmhas, dressed up like a pirate captain. He complimented her outfit and she smiled a big toothy grin. "Thank you Tàm... er.. Capt'n. You have a good eve too!" She went back to considering the pumpkins when her nose picked up the familiar scent of Kasamir and the teen turned to eagerly see his outfit. Since her initial idea had been to be a female version of Dracula, he had decided to dress like the real world inspiration for the vampire lord, none other than Vlad Dracule, leader of Wallachia. She'd had to read some history to actually know who that was. But Kas had definitely gone all out, and it looked like he was wearing actual chain mail. That must be heavy, right?!? "Hey Kas... err... Voivode Vlad Dracule." She offered a proper curtsy, then returned her parasol to her shoulder. "I was thinking about doing a silly pumpkin carving. Would you like to join me?" She smiled widely, not caring if her fangs shown. Not only did it compliment her outfit, but she was beyond the point of worrying if Kas saw her fangs. "Aye, wouldnae that be fun?" He added in a wink before stealing another kiss. So far, today was already proving to be far more fun than planned. Tàm brushed one of his curls back behind his pointed ear, readjusting his hat. It wasn't often he wore hats like this. Usually he preferred cozy knits to keep his ears warm, but he'd happily wear a silly hat to make Nic smile.... man, he loved that smile.
After complimenting Nic's form, the taller teen said it might well be a crime to not show it. "Aye, it jus' mae well be." He laughed a bit, thinking if only he were a bit braver, he might show off his own well toned muscles.... but for now, he'd continue hiding those sorts of things. Eventually though, he'd get over hiding his scars.... probably. His attention was distracted when Nic asked about the pumpkins. Green eyes looked over at the little station, then back to Nic. "Och, ah’m thinkin' we could do brawly! Come on Mohil, let’s see whit we can show aff."" He took Nic's hand in his and walked over to the booth proper. Now he just had to figure out what he wanted to do! Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a fine tipped carving knife so he could set to work. Now, where would his creativity take him?

xxxxxx❈Wʜᴀᴛ's ᴍʏ ᴄᴜʀʀᴇɴᴛ ᴍᴏᴏᴅ? Ranbow Poppy was super excited about Halloween. It was one of her favorite holidays, especially since she had a colorful outfit. One of the big events was a crafts area and a pumpkin carving contest! She'd been helping her parents carve pumpkins since she could use the spoon! She pretty quickly decided on carving a bunny, since they were her absolute favorite. It was based, of course, on Rainbow, who was safely tucked in the dorm. Picking up the tools, Poppy set to work. She wanted to win this contest, much like she wanted to win everything all the time. Once she finally finished, Poppy grabbed one of the pens and wrote out the little card. With hope, they'd announce the winners soon! Maybe next she'd try to find some of her new friends to hang out with.
