The Naumend Motel

x. Introduction [You are here]
x. Rules
x. Old Man
x. What is Currently Available To You & Vacant Rooms

After driving (or walking/hitchiking) along on a seemingly limitless stretch of desert-highway, you're tired, hungry and your car is running on empty.
You softly beseech to whoever, or whatever, may be listening to take pity on you; a home, a person, a gas station...something...anything.

And, if you wait long enough, anything may find you.

Welcome to the Naumend Motel.

[Take DarquePinkPaper's first post on the next page as a good idea for what your introductory post should be like.]

The Rules of Naumend

This RP is Literate!
No Chatspeak, 1337speak and very bad grammar(little things are okay, we should be able to understand you without having to try hard on our part).

The Basics:
No flaming, No pagestretching, No bumping, No begging, NO MARY SUES(You cannot be some all powerful (immortal) being and bend whatever or whoever to your will), No excessive cursing, No excessive sexual content(please remember, Gaia is a PG-13 website, if you wouldn't find it in a PG-13 movie, you shouldn't find it here).
Remember: This is based in reality, somewhat. So if you're going to have fantasy/sci-fi items you'll have to explain them pretty well.

//The Guild Rules- These Apply to Everywhere (In the guild)
//The Role Play Spot: Rules and Guidelines

The True Rules of Naumend

x. Until the Motel appears to you, you cannot come in. That means you'll have to wander until it feels like making itself known to you.

--Just talk to yourself as you wander the desert, hopefully the Naumend powers-that-be will take pity on you sooner rather than later(or not at all).
--You should probably take this time to describe yourself and let us get to know your character's personality.

x. The Motel is not an average motel. I hope that's obvious by now. Rooms will come and go, regardless of whether someone is in them or not.

--If you find yourself in a room that has been moved it is recommended you do not leave, it would suit you best not to leave since you are no longer a part of the motel's main structure.
--If you do want to leave your room after having it detach into whatever-dom, please say so and you will be pushed out into a new area that will immediately be explained to you. YOU CANNOT MAKE UP YOUR OWN AREA.

x. If you are killed, please wait calmly where you are. Do not assume a new identity until something of Naumend comes along and tells you to move on.

--You may not have to move on...
--And whatever you're told to move on to, you must, with no argument.

x. DO NOT seek out Old Man. Old Man is the Naumend Motel Manager. If you need things like ice, blankets, first-aid etcetera, it will you suit your best interests to find Praline, or find the items yourself.

--It's not too recommended to wander the areas at the edges of The Naumend Motel. Do so at your own risk.

[More will come along if need be.]

Old Man
& Other NonPlayable Characters

Old Man
Old Man speaks in light brown. No other Players are allowed to use this color.

You should not seek out Old Man.

Old Man is the Naumend Motel Manager.

Though Old Man is the one who moves the rooms, and makes things come and go, do not try to find him nor ask him for anything.

If you happen to come across Old Man, it is HIGHLY reccomended that you do not talk to him, perhaps, not even look at him.

Talking to Old Man has every possibility of making something bad happen.

Description of Old Man:
Unknown

Praline
Praline speaks in perriwinkle. No other players are allowed to use this color.

Praline would be considered an Assitant Manager but since she handles many areas of Naumend Motel, and the upkeep of the aforementioned, she just likes being called Praline. She's never much cared for titles.

Praline is the one you'll need to come to if you need ice, blankets, first-aid ecetera.

She's also the one who will give you your room key. Praline would also like to remind you to keep good hold of your room key.

Description of Praline:
Height: 5'4" | Weight: 111 pounds | Hair: Shoulder-length, strawberry blonde hair in two, low pig-tails | Skin Tone: Light with freckles across both cheeks, nose, neck, shoulders and onward...
Sun Sign: Gemini | Age: Unknown, seems to be in her mid-twenties | Blood Type: O

Jonen
Jonen speaks in vegetable-green. No other players are allowed to use this color.

Jonen is the latest addition to the Naumend Motel staff. Not much is known about him at this point, except he's the Cafeteria chef.
Description of jonen:
Height: 6'1" | Weight: 193 pounds | Hair: Black, Straight, Shoulder/Length, usually worn back in a small, loose ponytail | Skin Tone: Wheat Bread/Light Olive
Sun Sign: Scorpio | Age: He says 28. | Blood Type: AB

The Naumend Motel is vaguely horseshoe shaped, with the large main opening toward the front office and a smaller opening toward the back.
The main opening is the driveway leading into the parkinglot(inner courtyard).
The back opening leads to an old laundrymat, cafeteria, bar(new!) and the desert.

Vacant Rooms
When you come to The Naumend Motel, please go to the front office and wait inside.
Prailine will probably be there and she will tell you what rooms are available. You will have your pick.
If no rooms are available don't worry, an arrangement may be worked out for you.

Currently there is only one floor to the Naumend Motel. That can and may change.

There is at least one dressertable, table, nightstand, 1 floor lamp, 2 table lamps(one on the dresser, one on the nightstand), and one bathroom in every room.

Room #1A is currently Praline's room.

Room #2A - Currently Black's Room, Unpaid(favor/service owed)
One bathroom (shower, toilet, sink), one queen-sized bed, one window facing the inner courtyard. One television, does work. A/C

Room #3A - Currently Paper's Room, Unpaid
One bathroom (shower, toilet, sink), one king-size bed, one window facing the inner courtyard. One television, doesn't currently work. A/C

Room #4A - Currently Red's Room, Unpaid
One bathroom (shower, toilet, sink), one king-sized bed, one window facing the inner courtyard. One television, does work. A/C

Room #5A
One bathroom (bathtub/shower, toilet, sink), two twin-size beds, one window facing the inner courtyard. One television, does work. A/C, doesn't work.

Room #6A - Currently Jonen's Room
One bathroom (bathtub/shower, toilet, sink), one queen-size bed, one window facing the inner courtyard. One television, does work. A/C

Room #7A - Recently Appeared
One bathroom (shower, toilet, sink), one king-sized bed, one window facing the inner courtyard. One television, does work. A/C

What is Currently Available

Laundrymat:
The laundrymat has 14 washers, 6 dryers. Only 3 washers are currently working, and 5 of the dryers. Parts are needed to fix the others and Praline ordered them sometime ago, but being the Naumend Motel, things can be delivered in one minute to one lifetime.

The Cafeteria:
The cafeteria is always open, but catching a hot, livecooked meal is another matter. The doorway to the kitchen is locked.
There are many vending machines, with candies, sodas and sandwiches up and working.
Praline would like you to know that if you don't recognize the type of meat a sandwich is made with or, you haven't heard of a candy or soda it would be best not to purchase or consume them.
The cafeteria is clean though and the windows give you a view of the motel's courtyard.

Ice Machine:
The ice machine is by the main office. It works. Buckets for ice can be found in your rooms.

The Bar:
You can get to the bar by going through the cafeteria. Follow along to the back wall of the cafeteria, and the double doors to the right lead into the bar.
There is currently no bartender.
The bar has one counter that stretches nearly from the beginning of the area to the end of it. At first, to your left, is the bathroom (unisex) at the end of the bar is the storage area of the bar. Going into the storage area you will find a small door and the door will lead into the cafeteria's kitchen. There are 3 tables(4 chairs to each table), 2 small booths(can fit 4 people comfortably), 1 large booth(fits 6 people comfortably), and 1 jukebox(currently not working).

Monster/Creature Etiquette

Congratulations! The first creature has been encountered by the characters: Black and Paper

And has been defeated by Black!

So now, for future occurences, some information should be divuldged to the visitors of Naumend.

When You Find a Monster Or a Monster Finds You

-You can run away.
The creature may catch up to you and kill you anyway, but running away may be the best you can do, especially if you are alone or unarmed.

-You can stay and fight.
Fight it. If you kill it, you may find an item on the monter's remains.

Note that you will not always find items, sometimes you will and sometimes you won't. Also, if an item seems insignificant, or you don't want it, you can leave it behind. It's entirely up to you.

How To Fight a Monster

-Use your weapons.
You may or may not have weapons, use them to the best of your abilities. Certain situations may cause risk to your weapons. They may break or be stolen from you.

-Use your hands.
Monsters may not always be supposedly indestructable. Being able to defend yourself well may suffice.

-Use what is around you.
Chairs, sand, water etcetera. You may be surprised at what can kill a monster. (Or make it angrier/stronger)
