Do y'all know if they sell the CUT version in stores in America? I'm not allowed to watch the uncut versions.

Yes, but I've seen only cut versions on VHS. The DVDs have cut and uncut versions on it though.

yeah ebay's good. I feal so sad for you. The uncuts are the best seeing as they're the original. But I get my anime and manga straight from japan so I never realy had to buyoff ebay or anything.

why wont they let u watch the uncut versions? is it because of Uranus and Neptune? or wha? I really dont see a difference between the versions...well except one has crappy voice acting and the other doesnt XD j/k

The uncut Sailor Moon actually isn't much more violent than what was released in America. The only thing violent cut out in the first season was Minako cutting her finger and it bleeding comically (like a Looney Tune) and the not-all-that-graphic-deaths of the Four Inners. And there is NO implied sex and very little graphic nudity, in fact: they have barbie doll bodies when henshining and in the final episodes of Stars. Nothing that a kid doesn't see when changing doll clothes daily.

If it is solely that your religion views are why you are not being allowed to watch a full anime, I can understand. Many things get censored out of animes just to avoid upsetting certain communities. I can especially understand why they'd have problems with the S season in particular. It's more than just implied lesbians who never even kiss, there's some graphic anti-Christian/Catholic mockery (such as the faux crucifixions and the 'Messiah' bringing destruction, rather than salvation), but the rest of Sailor Moon is very religion friendly and there shouldn't be any problems as long as you avoid the S season uncut (which is a shame, because it's honestly quite beautiful art and a tearfully moving story).

If it's only your age keeping you from being allowed to watch it all, however, I strongly suggest watching it all when you're over 18 and can get away from age restrictions. The entire series (even Stars) is, however, only rated 16+ by the MPAA, something to keep in mind when talking with your family about getting the DVDs.

Best rule with Anime, if you get the DVDs, have your parents watch the subbed uncut stuff without you in the room to see if it's okay. Then they can decide if you're allowed to watch certain episodes. Good luck!

Actually, they dont sell any kind of Sailor Moon in America anymore because the copyrights have expired. if u look hard enough u'll find one that's remained over the years that no one bought...or in resale stores like Half Priced Books...but that's about it...

of the series dubbed by DiC (the 1st 2 seasons) all the tapes were realeased and should be available and DVDs of this dub were also released

Pioneer released S and SuperS 2 VHS versions; one is the dub they showed on TV and another is the dub uncut (but it isn't all that different, instead of running for 20 minutes it runs for 21...much wasn't cut out of Cloverway's dub... except for minor 2 sec. tidbits...)

Pioneer also released S and SuperS DVDs that include the uncut dub audio track and the original japanese audio (w/ subtitles) and made a thinpak box set of it for each season

ADV released box sets of the 1st 2 seasons uncut with the japanese dialouge intact and subtitles

I have one of the Sailor S DVD's- my friend gave it to me as an early birthday present, but I'm not allowed to watch it...
There are still a few Sailor Moon things being sold in TBS comics here, but not much. I want to get the whole seasons, but my parents don't like ebay. My aunt said she'd order them for me though on my birthday. I just need to figure out which ones are cut and which ones aren't.

tell your stupid parents (sorry but parents like this really bug me...) that there is no implied sex during the whole freking SM series (except for some minor comments made by Haruka and Michiru to each other and 9 out of 10 of them happen in StarS) there is no sex AT ALL in the series, it's a frekin kids show...dubbed or no dub, make ur parents watch the dub on the DVD with u if that would make them feel more comfortable.

Just because the word "UNCUT" is on a movie box DOESN'T always mean there's porn in it, it just means there's more material to watch on it than on TV...

oh and dont have ur poor grandma look for them on ebay, unless ur holding them in ur hands reading the contents on the box or know EXACTLY what ur looking for, there will always be a 50% chance u'll get the wrong thing

She's right, actually, there's NO implied sex in the anime. Just a bit of nudity. But if your family doesn't want you to even see barbiedoll naked figures, then go for the cut stuff, definitely.

Now the MANGA .... sweatdrop That's got tons of implied sex and should probably not be read any Americans under 16. Their families would throw fits.

but there's barbie doll nudity in the edited version too (eg-the transformations) so ur screwed either way...

It's okay, and I'm sorry... My grandma was having surgery that day, so I was on the edge (Yes I said grandma).
The Barbie doll nudity when they're transforming I never noticed it. I really didn't... I didn't think they were nude.
Nudity is still nudity in my family. And call me crazy, but I don't like barbies lol. I always ripped their heads off when I was little.
