Funny story.
So, I was scheduled to work today from 8 AM to 5 PM. For most people, this isn't really a big deal. However, for those of you that don't know, saying I am not a morning person is like saying a twenty watt lightbuld is the sun. Saying I don't DO mornings doesn't really work either. The AM hours (at least those with the sun involved) are my mortal enemies. How's that?
Obviously, then, I wasn't exactly looking forward to going in today. But I knew I would, because I'm responsible and dependable. So, I was joking around with my friend last night saying I should just "call in sick." "Do you want to?" she replied. "Well, duh," I said as I was walking away, "But you and I both know I won't,"--insert sarcasm here--"because I'm a good employee."
Time moves forward, and I fall asleep around 3 AM, then get up at 6 to get ready and whatnot. I'm feeling a little light headed and dizzy this morning, it seems. "Just 'cause I'm so tired," I tell myself.
I go into work, stopping at Starbucks on the way to get a cup o' fruit and some caffeine. I need the caffeine. I'm working on 3 hours' sleep, AND IT'S THE DAMN MORNING.
So, I'm hanging out in the stock room with my manager, eating a little of this fruit. I'm not really feeling food at the moment, but I trick myself into believe it'll help me feel better. Oh no. It doesn't.
About twenty minutes later... Gah! I run into the bathroom to throw up. However, I don't. I just get a nice little ab workout... That pisses me off more than anything! After doing this four times, Jason (manager dude) says "Go home, Frodo." (Ha! That's my nickname at work...)
So, now I'm home, sick as a sick dog ('cause they're not all sick, you know), and I know that I brought this on myself.
Irony is always out to get me.
For those of you who actually read all that, thanks for caring.
