(for a quick summary, skip to the bottom)

I work for an anime convention (Animazement, in NC), and we have a problem. This is our current website: http://www.animazement.org

I'm sure you can see the problem. A lot of the staff are complaining of seizures brought on by the site colors, and our navigation system is inconvenient. We're attempting to revamp the site, but we don't have a graphic designer on staff, so none of us can make it look nice.

What I need is someone who would be willing to either volunteer time (we would give you all the volunteer benefits that con volunteers get) or negotiate a paid deal with us to help us with graphics and coding. You can use your work for us in your portfolio and we'll post your name on our website as advertising for you.

This would not be an ongoing maintenance job; once the initial setup is done, I know enough code to update the info on the site myself.

Here is the concept we have. The color scheme and the bamboo are pretty much the only things we definately want to keep, so we are open to creativity. This is just something I came up with to show to the rest of the staff to see if they liked it. (They did.) We will also be collecting art of our mascots to put up in various place around the site, so it would be great if "art spots" were incorporated into the design.

SUMMARY:
PAY: Volunteer benefits (preferable and easier to get) or cash (negotiable, but harder to get since we're a non-profit)
DEADLINE: This is not urgent, so a month or two is a reasonable time frame. I know exams are coming up for some of us. No set deadline.
LEVEL OF COMPLEXITY: We'd like to keep it simple, but the site we have now just looks blah. We need just basic code; no flash or fancy java or anything like that. ^^

Hmm... I would like to provide my services 3nodding I am a web master of sorts, still ameture, but I'm building a portfolio. I'm a graphic design artist, I can use flash, I know HTML and I'm learning PHP.

As for pay, I'm afraid I won't be able to attend the con due to location, but don't worry I'm not greedy. I'd like to talk to you more about this, can we discuss it over e-mail?

I may not be able to contact you today because I have a job interview and tae kwon doe class, and I don't know Penden's work/school schedule. I'll try to get a hold of you, but in case I don't I need to know how early/late I can get away with calling. domokun
