Echoes of Destiny

It has been two years since Galaxia was defeated and the senshi have returned to their normal lives, the days of constant struggles nearly forgotten. As the summer begins, the girls look forward to a bright future and enjoy one last golden season together until life will call them to part.

Yet even they can not escape the destiny that has been set for them. Dreams of the past begin to haunt them again and those who where with them in the past will soon be at their side once again, and love will indeed demand all.

Okay, so there's the 411.

What we've got here is a storyline with room for action, romance (my personal favorite), adventure, and a bit of drama as well. A few guidelines since those seem to be necessary.

Physical Description: Kou has intense hazel eyes and long black hair drawn back into a short ponytail. His fingers look almost delicate and his body is that of a professional martial artist, lean and hard.

Senshi Attacks: Venus Knight relies on enhanced reflexes and martial techniques rather than ranged attacks. The blade is effectively weightless and seems made of energy rather than solid matter, cutting any known substance (including youmas) easily. "Energy Shield" creates a immobile defensive barrier that is draws on the attacking energy to reinforce it, making it almost impenetrable.

Defects: He lacks any sort of ranged combat ability and his only defensive technique requires that he surrender any offensive action.

Background: Kou is an orphan, his parents killed in an airplane accident several months earlier. He was living in Kyoto, where he'd been raised. Trained in Kendo since he could walk, he was (and is) competing for the title of Grand Master in the country of Japan. Because of his parent's death, Kou finds himself both wealthy (with a trust fund) and alone. He moved to Tokyo only recently.

Planetary Background (selected): Venusian culture centered on home and family. Families were by nature both large and tightly knit. The number of children for each family tended to average around six. The economy was based on arts and philosophy, rather than a strictly agricarian society. Warriors among the Venusians were rare yet usually proved to be extremely skilled.

When married, Venusian couples tended to form empathic bonds of varing strengths. The stronger the bond, the closer the two became. The life of one member of the bond depended upon the other. Something about Venusian makeup that required physical contact between them for their survival, and the stronger the bond the more frequent contact was needed. It would be no great surprise that when one half of the bonded couple died, the other quickly passed away as well.

Noble families usually derived much of their power and authority from how skilled they were in their chosen profession. Conflict often ensued between those families, but rarely came to combat for the reason previously outlined. At the time nearing the end of the Moon Kingdom, the current royal family struggled to maintain control with a rival family. This rivalry eventually ended with the merging of the two families in the form of the marriage of the eldest son of the rival family to the only living Venusian princess.

Each Venusian child is brought before an oracle when they are very young, usually less than a week old. The oracle then determines what each child is destined to do, and usually will know if a child will become bonded or not. Venusian families take these guidings very seriously. The vast majority of Venusians were bonded yet the few who weren't were almost exclusively either warriors or oracles.

Notes: Kou was the eldest son of the second most powerful Venusian noble family. He and Minako were married at the behest of their Venusian parents (an arranged marriage). Like every Venusian couple, they share the empathic bond between husband and wife. The two are practically inseperatable as a result.

((And with this, we'll get started. Any players that you know of, please feel free to recruit. It's going to be boring with only one knight in the game. We'll begin with Section One: Senshi in Peril where the senshi and knights are reunited. We'll have the first combat and get everyone introduced sometime during the first day.))

Begins

It was the dream again, as he'd been having for the past several years, on and off. The dreams that he'd been having about the same beautiful blonde. Yet the dreams didn't seem just like dreams but something more. They'd been too consistant, too vivid, too varied, too ... real to be just dreams. Where they memories of a past life or visions of the future or something else entirely?

Kou gazed into the mirror of his bathroom, having emerged from the shower to stare at himself while these questions vied for his attention. The dreams had been more frequent until lately it had been every night, he'd dreamt about the same woman. As if they'd been together, been close, sharing their lives or some such. After a moment of contemplation, he shook the matter off and began to prepare himself for his day.

He returned to the bedroom of his rather simple, yet sparesly furnished, four room apartment and pulled on a simple set of grey sweats. He had all of today to relax so he was going to Jubaan Mall. He swept out the door in a hurry, locking it behind him.

He had no idea what destiny had in store for him this day. It would be today that he'd meet the woman who'd he'd loved before and would again.

It was a pleasant surprise when he had qualified at the end of the first day of the Kendo nationals. He had expected that it would take him much longer than that, leaving him with the rest of the week free to relax and prepare. That had been yesterday.

The bus was packed but he was content to stand there and enjoy the ride, something he rarely got the chance to do. He found himself standing next to a blonde as hauntingly beautiful as the one in his dreams, the morning light making her hair seem to glow as if it was spun of gold.

Rei awoke to the sound of her two crows, Phobos and Deimos chattering. She shook her tangled mass of dark hair off of her face and wiped her eyes. She had had the same dream again. The one with him. The handsome man with fire in his eyes. The one she loved to tease. He always looked familiar but Rei just could not place him. Who was this guy that haunted her dreams?

Rei stood up and went into the bathroom. There, she undressed and stepped into the shower. She let the hot rain wash over her until her bathroom was nice and misty. Then, she turned off the water, towel-turbaned her hair and wrapped a second towel around her.

The Bathroom door opened ten minutes later, and out stepped Rei. She was more mature-appearing than before. She had decided to start wearing make up and her face even looked older. She was wearing her traditional temple clothing. While the red and white clothes were nothing like the ruby red gown she had worn in the dream, the clothes fit her well and were sufficient for her day's work.

A little later, Rei strode out of her room. "Hello, grandpa." She replied entering the kitchen. He mumbled his hello. Rei served herself some steamed rice, gave thanks and started eating.

Minako had been caught up in the same dream again. The one where she was with a handsome man and from the looks of it were lovers. From the surroundings of it the dream seemed to be taking place in the venusian royal palace. The dream was going well, but no matter how many times she had the dream she never got to see what happened in the end.

Sighing to herself out annoyance, she slowly opened her eyes as she found herself being woken up by her alarm clock and the dream finished. Maybe tonight she would be able to finish it, but then again she had been saying that to herself for some time now.

Crawling out of bed it wasn't until she had actually taken a good look at her alarm clock that she had caught the actual time. She was going to go to Juuban mall today, and if she didn't hurry she was going to miss the bus. She wasn't exactly in the mood to wait for the next one either.

Practically throwing off her pajama's she raced through her room as she tried to find something to wear. She ended up grabbing a pink knee length skirt and a white tanktop. She had heard it was suppose to get hotter later on today so atleast she would stay cool with what she was wearing.

Running out the door she managed to just barely catch the bus, though found it to almost seem to be over flowing with people. She ended up having to stand, though it could have been worse. Knowing her luck she would be forced to stand next to some old perverted man, but so far she seemed to be standing pretty much by herself. It wasn't until the next stop that someone was standing next to her. It was a handsome guy who looked to be around her age. She couldn't help but feel there was something familiar about him as she tried not to stare.

Kou gazed at the blonde standing next to him as the bus stopped again to pick up even more passengers. He couldn't help but to keep looking at her and he noticed that she was doing the same. He was so focused on her that he failed to notice people around him until someone bumped into him. Without thinking about it, he simply put one arm around the blonde next to him to steady himself. He held her closely, like a lifetime companion and confidant rather than that of complete stranger.

Finding them pressed together by the overfull bus, he simply blushed and spoke quietly to her. "I am sorry, I didn't mean to do that." He said in his soft baritone voice. Yet he couldn't get himself to let go of her. It seemed now that he got a good look at her like she'd stepped out of his dreams and into his arms.

Ami woke up, her cheeks tinting pink as she recalled the dream. She'd been wearing a sapphire gown, and next to her had been a man, in armor. It seemed to be the Silver Millenium in her dream, she thought, as she got out of bed and began to brush her teeth. It had seemed normal enough, and somehow she found herself realizing she'd liked that person very well. So well that in a few more seconds of the dream, he briefly kissed her-without any protest from herself to boot!!

She shoved the thoughts out of her head as she combed her hair and settled at her desk with a plate of toast to eat as she began studying her conversational Engrishu. If she finished the possible future section today, she could move on to synonyms and formalities.

Background: Tai lived with his parents in Osaka till he started college. Then he moved to Japan. His parents still live out in Osaka and send him money every month.

Minako was finally able to keep her stareing to a minum when she suddenly felt an arm wrap around her. The but was getting even more crowded forcing them to move closer together. She glanced towards the face of the man with his arm around her to get a better look. He was exactly like the man from her dreams. Everything about him was the same from his gentle looking eyes to his comforting embrace. She couldn't help but begin to blush when she began to compare the two. She was probably just jumping to conclusions seeing how the dream was still fresh in her mind.

"It's alright no harm done right." She replied, as she smiled warmly at him. Even if he wasn't the same person from her dreams he was still really handsome looking.

Just as she was about to take a step back the bus suddenly went over a bump knocking her off balance. She ended up falling forwards a bit as she fell into him causing her face to redden even more.

"Sorry." She quickly apologized, as she directed her gaze at him once again.

Without thinking about it, Kou wrapped both arms tightly around the mysterious blonde and held her tightly against him for support when the bump in the road made her loose her balance.

"It's all right," he replied softly with a blush that matched her own. He simply held her against himself, enjoying the feel of her next to him. He ignored the comment that someone murmured about how they made a cute couple.

"Would you happen to be going to Juuban Mall?" He asked, trying to meet her gaze with his. "If so, can I buy you a cup of tea or something? I happen to be going there myself."
