I may as well give a Hwoarang discription.

Hwoarang is a street punk from South Korea (most likely Seoul, but was never revealed what city). He rides a motorcycle and enjoys getting in street fights for both money and reputation.
He trained under Baek Doo San, a 6th Dan master of Moo Duk Kwan Tae Kwon Do. While Baek is the Sabanim (master in Korean) of Hwoarang, Hwoarang seems to fight in Olympic international Tae Kwon Do (ITF).

One day, Hwoarang and his gang where hustling as usual, when Hwoarang faced Jin Kazama. The fight had ended in a draw for undisclosed reasons (I like saying that the police had found them fighting and they all had to split). Hwoarang, now angered due to his first fight not resulting in a win, makes a vow to find Jin and defeat him.
Later on, Hwoarang finds out that Baek had been attacked by an unknown fighter and was put in a coma, though his chances of survival were minimal.
That was when Hwoarang discovers the third King of Iron Fist tournament and decides to join to settle two scores: Defeat Jin Kazama and avenge his master's, "death," against Ogre.

Hwoarang, however, fails at both of these goals. He was only able to reach third place (while it is believed that Jin beat him, it was never confirmed), and thus, could not fight Ogre. As he was about to throw his third place trophy out onto the ocean, he notices Jin running away from the Tekken Force.
He decides to assist Jin by defeating all of them. Onec he takes them all out, he watches Jin transfrom into Devil Jin and fly away. That's when he gives a slight smile, knowing why Jin is so tough and that their business isn't finished.

After the KoIF3, Hwoarang joins the Korean army as a private. while being skilled at his military work, he was known to have an attitude problem. One day, when he discovered the King of Iron Fist 4, he abandoned his post and went to attend the torunament.
However, he did not get far as the Korean military caught up to him and arrested him deserting his post. His fight with Jin Kazama would have to wait.

While waiting to hear from Court Martial, the Korean Embassy Ambassador gave him a letter from Baek Doo San, informing Hwoarang that he is still alive and now out of his coma.
Hwoarang then finishes his military service within two months, and joins Baek in the King of Iron Fist tournament 5.

Jin and Asuka, cousins or siblings?

I heard that there was an interview where Namco said that the two are cousins. Personally I think it'd be cooler if they were siblings, dunno why.
No details are revealed though.

first of, I thought Hwoarang was drafted into the military, could explain why Hwoarang was under arrest after the KoiF4.

And most likely Asuka and Jin are cousins. Siblings? no because Jun died when Jin was young..and so fourth. And I seriously thought Heihachi was dead!.

Also, I hope Hwoarang's ending was cannon, the part where it says Hwoarang beated Jin, nah I dont think so. But the movie...now THAT I want it to be canon (I refering to T5's ending) so far the main story followed Jin's ending (T3, jin got shot and turned to DevilJin, T4 Jin was captured and beat the s**t out of Kazuya then Heihachi) think Jin claimed the Mishima Zaibatsu?

nah...Jin's too much of a pansy to take over the Zaibatsu...

uh...T4's true ending was mixed with Jin/Kaz/Heihachi. Although Kazuya won the tournament, Jin took down both of them after the tournament...so officially, Kaz won T4. But technically, Jin won. -_- Or maybe it was Heihachi who officially won...I don't remember. -_-

And although they're alive, these characters were supposed to be dead/confirmed dead by Namco:

Baek
Armor King
Bruce

Baek was confirmed dead back in T3. Though how/why they made him all of a sudden unconcious is beyond me. I don't mind cause I use Baek in T5/DR.

AK we all know was killed in T4...or so we thought. -_- since AK's DR ending didn't explain a damn thing, we're still wondering if this is the same AK supposively dead or a completely new AK.

Bruce...was confirmed dead back between T2 and T3. Though I think they said he went into hiding or faked his death...or something. (apparently he died on a plane crash.) But i'm only assuming he faked his death or something...cause he's still around.

Heihachi IMO just isn't going to die anytime soon. The Tekken creators favorite character is Heihachi. So if he does die...I really want to know how.

I don't think it'll happen really. He might try to destroy it internally, or just refuse the prize altogether. 3nodding
