Get a creamy one you can spread on with a finger, like Blistex. Don't put a lot on. Otherwise, it doesn't really irritate your piercing. At least, mine were both fine.

AH KK THANKS, NEW QUESTION!
on the inside hole, i have this like, line. i dunno, tastes like tenderness, and looks white like dead skin or a canker soar (but it's obviously not the sore because it's a perfectly straight line starting at the whole and going out, not long, but enough to look like a line. i can't take a pic (technical difficulties, no acces to webcam) but does anyone know what i'm talking about and if its normal?
btw got it pierced monday night (soooooo 4 days ago, if thats significant)

I think it's just the way it heals. I have no idea what it actually is, but I had white weird fleshy stuff try to grow over my ring while it was healing. It eventually went away. If it's the same thing I'm talking about, it will get much larger as it heals and pusses all over the place (yay! crusties!) but I think as long as it doesn't hurt you don't need to freak out. Try and get a pic if you can at any point. X3

though now it's not such a bright white, more transparent but still like... something there. it doesn't worry me it's just weird and if it's normal then i'll stop being freaked out by it.

Looks pretty much like what I had. My friend had it happen to her labret stud as well. Keep an eye on it of course, but I wouldn't be worried about it at all.

I had that on one of my lip piercings. Its just when the ring/labret travels ever so slightly and leaves some scar tissue. I kept biting mine, and it never came back. xd

The white skin happened to mine too, it eventually went away. It does seem very common as two of my friends had it happen to them also. Congrats on the new lip piercing!
