Ok, a very short while back I discovered how to use my tablet better (ie activate the pressure sensativity) and photoshop CS instead of Illustrater.

Anyways, I thought I'd take an old pic I had done that got alot of favor on my deviant art account and re-make it using the new techniques to compare the progress I've made when I changed methods.

Constructive critisism on the "after" drawing is appreciated. Note, the character I saw online while browsing photobucket, it is not mine (fan art basically except that I've never seen the series, only heard of it).

I like the drawing, but i think its the colours, because the first one looks nicer. So you could change the colours and see what happens. Or try more manga/anime colour stule with harder lines/edges.

Once again, not my character.
I just was staying as true as possible to the original character colors. On the colored pencil pic I sipmly didn't have the right color pencils... and the coloring sucked because it looks all grainy do to my craptacular scanner. xp

But it has it's feeling to it as well, so not really a bad thing.

"Styles" was more referanced towards line thickness variation (still working on getting it more noticeable) rather than having a single hard lines.
However yes, mostly just medium differances.

That's cool.

the after image is very sleek and overall better because of the shading involved the colors as before seem a lil off but the character sticks out more because the lines seem thicker and bolder
