Queen Serenity

what do you think of her? She's kinda mysterious... you see we don't see much of her and details of her story are obscure. This is one reason why she's the main character of my story, but anyway... lets talk about this woman.

come on... doesn't anyone like this little known and underappreciated character?

well she's rarely ever in any scenes. shes on a few scenes so what is there to like about her?

Other than I can make her do whatever -I- want. And that she doesn't have much of a personality.

(That whole - oh she was kind and caring and yadda yadda) It's so one sided.

And overall...she bores me.

but she is a little on the boring side.

she's basically like any real mother, someone who loves her child unconditionaly.

But she's a monarch first and foremost. Mothering would take a back seat to that.

Well based on the back story she's the daughter of Selena (ancient greek goddess of the moon). She gave her life for her daughter and the scouts, even though she would've died anyway. She re-appears in flash backs but only to tell Usagi about things. In the live action its implied she's still alive when Usagi catches Luna talking to her. Other then that there's not much to her.

she's a terrible role model for her daughter! If only she had the decency to wear her hair in some other fashion and put on decent clothes, her daughter might not have turned out to be the meatball headed freak we all know and (for me) hate.

the way i see it, is that Queen Serenity is supposed to be a role model for Serena/Usagi. She's supposed to be the one who shows her the way and how to actually become the lost princess. Just because she hasn't been shown in many episodes, then that doesn't mean that she can't be the kind of person who will always be there. Her spirit lives on in the Moon Kingdom and it will always live on in Serena's heart (even though she doesn't really remember her mother all that well). But she does become like her mother in the future in Crystal Tokeyo. which is her dream, to become like her mother...

I distinctly remember that Usagi's Dream is to become a bride.

And...Her spirit is more like a recording than her -actual- spirit. and it's the ruins.

Really, she isn't Usagi's role model. *Think you're slightly confusing Chibiusa who wants to -be- like Usagi. her mom and a fine lady and Usagi who just wants to be a good wife/bride.*

For me, Q.Serenity is rather -flat- character. She's not rounded out. She's so...' Oh I'm so -kind- caring *perfect* mommy D:' When really no one's able to actually connect to her character.

I think Queen Serenity did what she had to do to save others. She lived her life the way she wanted, she just wanted to give her daughter a chance to live her life the way she wanted. Usagi will be who she is no matter what her past life was like. Remember, Usagi didn't know about her past life and the fact that she was once a well manned princess, till later.

She's so enigmatic, I'm practically obsessed... (in a sense)

I have a theory that in her time, before she became teh queen we all know and love, she was a senshi and just as ditzy as Usagi-chan! Constant war between the planets along with the possible invasion of the dark kingdom forced her to grow up a lot quicker than our Serenity-hime.
