I guess the band's confirmed that their new album is expected to be released October '07. So I guess let's start talking about it soon about expectations and stuff.

So post about what you think the new album should be like.

This is the album that's gonna make or break A7X as far as I'm concerned. If they move further into mainstream and marketing to all the people I'm probably not gonna be as big a fan anymore. I think if they wanna keep their true fanbase they'll try to distance themselves from mainstream metalcore.

I'd love to see something along the lines of Waking the Fallen but I doubt it cause Matt's voice is never going to be at that peak anymore. Ever since the surgery his voice has kind of been altered to make it sound different from before. I wouldn't doubt that this new upcoming album to be more like City of Evil than their older stuff.

I'm 100% positive there won't be screaming on the new album. In an interview I saw, they said "screaming wasn't their style anymore."

So in other words they're going melodic instead of destructive.

Well they're still classified as Metalcore, but I do believe that Waking the Fallen and Sounding the Seventh Trumpet were both close to being considered actual Metal albums.

I'd actually like another City of Evil. That was the album that did fabulously well, you know. And was what got me into them.

I can't wait. n_n

As much as I absolutely love Waking the Fallen and City of Evil, and wouldn't mind seeing another one of them, I think A7X should do something different, their own way. They say they don't want to make a WTF or COE part 2, and I think that for a band to stay alive they need to mature, and that's what A7X needs to do. Their music needs to evolve, and I will stay true to them through thick and thin. whee

It's just that their style has changed so much since the early days, especially on COE. I'll always love Waking the Fallen and Sounding the Seventh, but depending on how the new album sounds, I don't know if I'll be supporting them as much as I used to. *shrug*

All I can say is that Matt won't be able to scream like he used to because of Doc's orders because of his ruptured vocal chord and the surgery.

I also think that there won't be screaming on the new album but i read in an interview with Zacky and Syn that it could go either way and that they weren't revealing anything yet. I also feel that if they get any more commercialised and get too melodic that i won't be such a big fan anymore.

Thats what I agree with. I still havent heard all of City of Evil yet but everyone keeps telling me its alot 'softer' than the other albums were. Now that they hit more mainsteam with the latest album they will either use thier new album to go further into mainstream *Hell they better not end up like another Fall out boy band* or stay metalcore/rock.
