I was just thinking about those segments this morning. ^^ When I was little I took them so seriously, and then when I rewatched them they were reallly cheesy; but in a nostalgic way.

Oh my, I know that feeling. x3;

When my best friend and I were in grade one and two, we took those right to heart. Hell, we ran around quoting them on the playground... And I wonder why people think I'm weird now. xDD

I can't watch the dub anymore, though. When it gets to Sailor Says, I burst into a fit of laughter and ruin the seriousness of whatever episode I was watching had on me.

I always thought that it was a really good thing to add in at the end, for the benefit of all the little girls.

One I know I could've benefitted from was a 'not all girls can be heroines like us with magical powers (although you can help your community in some other way!)' ^^;
Seriously, how many of us ran around the playground pretending to be the scouts?

I would wait until the final last tidbit of the episode, just to wait for some more of Sailor Moon's advice on how to be a better person. I took them SO seriously when I was little.
It was a good thing to add to the end of an episode, I think. They were silly, but hey, the target audience is not a college student, after all. <33

My friends and I pretended to be Sailor Scouts during recess until 3rd or 4th grade. I was always Sailor Mercury. xd

OMG, I always thought me and my friends were the only losers who did that as kids (run around and act like the Senshi)

we made a club (i was Vice President and Founder) and I was Jupiter and all my friends were someone else. it lasted from 5th grade 'till ....middle of 6th...

our club even had nemisises, they were the DragonBall Z fanboys in our class xd .....ah childhood....
------

as for Sailor Moon Says, I thought it was a good idea for little girls to learn things like "don't ruin the planet" and "Boyfriends aren't everything"

....but it is pretty cheesy when your 13+

I think every elementary school had the group of DBZ fanboys. XD Though we were actually friends with a lot them, and we all played Tenchi Muyo together...

Come to think of it, I think some of the advice from those segments has stuck with me. I also took it pretty seriously, so a lot of the stuff I do or say now reflects SMS.

I completely agree... I loved the Sailor Moon Says...
They inspired me to do my homework on time,
protect the environment,
and generally just be a nice person.

And yes - of course I played Sailor Moon on the playground.
I was always Serena (wasn't aware of the Japanese names at that time),
and my best best best friend of all time was Lita.
As you can see - the colors representative of those characters has stuck with us...
My avatar's hair is pink and hers is green.
whee

HOORAY for being silly little girls, then and forever.

I did too. Haha. I used to take "Sailor Moon Says" so seriously. I did EVERYTHING they told us to do, in hopes of becoming the next sailor scout. XD;
