Ilamelle darted into one of the abandoned houses, one with a porch, leaning support pillars keeping the roof stationary over the old boards, and two stories. Stifling her giggles, she dashed through the entryway into the living room, then into the kitchen, looking for a good hiding place. The place was dusty, the white sheets over the sparse furniture turned gray with the stuff, and she had to hold in an explosive sneeze once or twice as it swirled through the sunbeam-cut air. There was an old cabinet system in the kitchen still, the counter-top covered with dirt and dust, and it was easy enough to find a cupboard which appeared to have once contained something large, like pots and pans, as it had no shelf dividing it in half. With only a little bit of a wriggle, she managed to squeeze inside it and close the door to only a sliver. There she waited, panting softly, heart pounding, congratulating herself on finding a great hiding place. Levi would never find her here!

With a giggle, she closed her eyes and put her hands up over them so he'd see she was really not looking this time. Counting loudly and with only a little hesitation, she got up to twenty before she lost patience and yelled "Ready or not, here I come!" at the top of her considerable lungs. Wriggling out of the cabinet was a little tougher than she'd anticipated, and she was forced to shift into a fox form to remove herself from the tight-ish space. She checked the other rooms, but knew he rarely hid in the same place that he found her, so she checked the street and followed her nose slowly to the forge area. It took her a while, as the wind was blowing the dust of the main street about and confusing the scent, but eventually she got within a block of the place and shifted back to her five-year-old form. "Where could he be?" she murmured to herself, looking about. There were a few older houses in the area, but she didn't trust the look of them, and was pretty sure her slightly older and more cautious brother wouldn't like them if she didn't. Some of the neighboring shops looked ok, though... She headed for the one next to the forge that had once been an old leather-works place.
