"Well you can go to sleep if you want to. I'll keep it on the fire wants it lowers incase you want it then." Kai said, sitting back. "Nothing worse then waking up hungry in the middle of the night."

Asha yawned and plopped down on her bag again with a snort. "When I wake up in the middle of the night it generally has nothing to do with hunger." She informed him as she cuddled under the blanket.

Dusting off his hands, Kai settled back. He'd keep watch for awhile... At least till his friends got here to help. Then he'd rest for a little bit. But truth be told, Kai's mind was to a swirl with things to drift off into any sort of restful sleep.

About halfway through the night in the early morning hours, Saiya sat up straight. Her eyes were wide open and her heart rate was through the roof. Her hands automatically closed around the pencil and sketchpad she had left next to herself and without looking down at the paper she drew. Once the drawing was done her eyes drifted closed and she fell back down, fast asleep, her heart rate calming again.
The drawing on the paper was of a river in the forest, deep within the water a shadow of something swam just out of sight.

Kai's eyes had snapped open when he'd felt Saiya's heart rate jump, fearing that they had been found. He'd in fact lept over the fire to find her drawling with her eyes closed. Strange... He wasn't sure what to do, but almost as suddenly as it had happened it was over. Saiya was back asleep and Kai was left with a strange picture. I know wh- But that thought was interrupted by two sounds. A screeching and a howling, an unlikely pair. Smiling Kai moved to the mouth of their shelter to meet his friends. A great white owl and a small pack of wolves... Now he could rest for awhile.

Saiya stretched and yawned as she woke up the next morning. She groaned as she sat up. "My second morning with out a vanilla latte." She pouted lightly as she picked up her sketchbook and frowned at it. Her shelves at home had been lined with hundreds of sketchbooks filled with pictures she never remembered even drawing. The gift of sight was what her grandfather had called it, a result of her grandmothers horrible stories is what she attributed it too, along with sleep walking. Rolling her eyes she closed the pad and shoved it back in her bag along with the pencils.

Awakening to the sounds of shuffling, Kai stretched. "You're up offely earily for a city slicker." he commented, half jumping half rolling to his feet. He didn't have to listen hard to the outside to know his friend had left the second the heard Saiya wake up. They were of course, a bit shy to strangers.

Saiya nodded. "I can't ever seem to sleep past six. Even when I'm exhausted." She sighed. "I am starved though, anyway last nights dinner is still edible?" As she asked him she folded the blanket he had let her used and cleaned up the small space she had used.

"Yep." Kai replied, stirring the contents of the pan that had been left over a low fire. Pulling some bread out of his pack, he dished out some of the food onto a tin plate. Walking over to Saiya he handed her the bread, the plate, and a fork before turning to walk back around the fire. "Better eat up. We have a long day ahead of us."

Nodding Saiya quickly devoured whatever he had made. She really didn't care what it was so long as it was edible. Making quick work of the bread she licked her fingers. "Is there somewhere I can wash these for you?" She asked with a motion to the ban and the tin plate.

"We'll wash them as we pass the stream on our way out. We've got to be moving anyways." Kai commented as he shoveled the last of his breakfast into his mouth. Pulling out the cantien he took a drink to wash everything down before putting the cap back on it. "Thirsty?" he asked, offering it out Saiya as he stood up and kicked dirt on the fire to put it out.

Saiya shook her head. "No thanks." Offering him a smile she got to her feet and pulled her jacket and messenger bag on over her normal cloths.

((Same... He's old school. biggrin ))
Putting the water back in the pack, he swung his cloak around and put it on. "It shouldn't be too cold during our hike today. The woods tend to trap in the heat when the sun's up." Kai stated, swinging the pack on to his shoulders. Making sure the fire was out he moved toward the entrance. "Ready?" he asked as he looked back Saiya.

Nodding Saiya was close on his heels. "Yeppers." She said as she offered him a smile. "How far is the stream?" She asked him as she followed after him, doing her best to keep up with him and not slow him down.

"Right through those trees." Kai said, smiling as he automatically slowed down. Most of the human tourists he lead through the forest couldn't keep up with a supernatural on a good day. But Saiya seemed to be keeping up quiet well...
